Back in the day calling our parents was the last thing on earth we wanted to do.
So true!!!
So true. I was more afraid of my dad than a cop. At least I knew they weren't going to whip my butt.
Exactly
Same I was so scared to have to call my parents. It was terrifying waiting on them to get there.
You're so right mate, my mum would of whipped me black and blue.
I love how these kids call their parents and act like they have some kind of parental authority over the cops and things are gonna change when Mommy and daddy get there
They are trying to navigate grownup life with the experience of children. What blows my mind is the total lack of respect for law enforcement.

Oh my Dad would show up, all right. To kick my azz and assist in detaining me.
Right? My father would've told me to put on the speaker for the officer could hear and would out loud proudly say take that dude to jail please so he can learn his lesson.

Good mom who showed up, old school parenting, no excuses made for her daughter, made her say thank you- and told her to get her butt home. we need more parents like this today.

They'll be crying for their mommies when they are 50!!
Ya exactly, is there any way I can be jailed instead?
the cop told them to call their parents lol
I told my, now adult son, that unless he was in a wrong place/wrong time, innocent situation, don't call from jail asking for help, if you are arrested let me know where you are but don't be calling me to bail you out or help you. Thankfully that never happened, he is hard working and law abiding, as a single parent it is even harder but I am proud of him.
"I wasn't smoking in public, I was smoking in my car." Behind the wheel on the side of a public road. Genius.
Did you miss the part where she said she smoked it in her driveway? Moron.
Well they say that a vehicle is considered an extension of the home. Or that’s what I was taught. Much like your home, a cop cannot enter without probable cause. But it’s easy to find a probable cause
Cops need reasonable articulatable suspicion in order to have probably cause to "lawfully" enter someone's car. That's not to say that a cop won't lie about having "RAS". They do that all the time. In order to enter someone's home, they need a warrant or exigent circumstances. @@emilinebelle7811
@@emilinebelle7811 Some key differences - a car can be a weapon. not a house. There are rules of the road. Not so much to enter and exit a home. And once a vehicle leaves a driveway, the question of public safety is paramount - hence, public safety officers involvement. One thing I want to know is across our nation the fight against drugs led to strict seizure laws - a person can lose their house or their car. Does it include only select drugs? Only particular amounts? Or is it reasonable to expect if you have drugs in your car, you could lose your car?

The 15 year old’s mom seemed reasonable, and genuinely upset with what was going on. As a mother of kids , and myself who were all a little wild I can tell you that parents aren’t always responsible for their kid’s actions. Some kids are a handful once they get into their teen years despite anything the parents taught them to do.
Parents need to start teaching their kids that the world does not revolve around them, and that they are responsible for their actions.
Thats the exact opposite to what people teach their kids.
Her parents are probably immature, themselves. 😬
They ALWAYS call mommy....LOL
Parents need to STOP teaching their kids the world revolves around them. I grew up in the 1960s/1970s and when my siblings and I had a fit about something she would say “cheer up, it’s going to get much worse.” Im 65 now and she was so right.
Do they?
During my active alcoholism, I WALKED home from jail one time bc I REFUSED to call, wake my mom up, break her heart, & then ask for a ride home at 3am. This kid talks to her parents like they’re BFF.
I do kinda in between. I’m really close to my daughters but they know if they are disrespectful or mess up I’m not gonna be happy! They tell their friends all the time “my mo is awesome but don’t ever make her mad”

I consider driving while high less dangerous than drunk, but STILL dangerous, and that's why people do it... they justify it as alright just because they "have a tolerance" - if you aren't 100% stone cold sober you don't need to be behind the wheel PERIOD, no matter how safely you think you drive.
Back in the old days, my parents would have walloped me if they saw me talking to the cops like that. My dad didn't tolerate smart asses.

The lesson here is... shut your smart mouth. I believe they would have let her go, but her mouth alone...as the officer said, got her arrested for the arrestable offense.

Freedom of speech, commie
Some people shouldn't be cops, but are.
The lessons here are:
1) If you're going to use alcohol, nicotine, weed, benzos, opiates, whatever, know the law and make sure you're in compliance.
2) A car that smells of weed begs to be searched. Don't smoke weed in your car, and don't leave anything suspicious or illegal in plain sight.
3) Keep your mouth shut. Doing so eases the tension, reduces the chances of provoking a potential jerk-with-a-badge, and helps you in court.

My father told me and my sister a number of times growing up that if we ever got into enough trouble that cops were involved then call a lawyer because there's nothing he can do for us at that point. I taught my kids the same thing.
"No matter what happens I'll pick you up from the Police station. Might take me a couple of days to get there... you know, once I've cut the lawn, washed the car, trim the toenails... importants things. Then you get picked up."
I’ve been teaching my 13 yr old similar. And respect the police but don’t answer questions and ask for an attorney .if he gets in trouble at school don’t answer questions and have them call me. So the first thing he does, when a teacher asks him about some fight at school video that a friend sent him on his phone , is he admits to having the video and then shows the video to the teacher
Didn’t learn anything and he got detention because he answered questions and he wasn’t supposed to have the video for whatever reason.
Me too. I made it VERY clear that I would not be coming to rescue them if they did something stupidly illegal or just illegal. They are both grown, have amazing careers, married, have their own homes, etc. Neither one of them ever had any run ins with law enforcement. You gotta lay down the law when they are young!
That's exactly how it is. The girl babbles too much and everything is used against her. Be polite and nice, but never answer questions about the allegations. Never sign the report or other documents at the police station. You have the right to refuse to testify because anything you say can be used against you. The police have to prove that you did something illegal. And this nonsense, she smoked, she could drive, blah, blah, blah. She was not smoking or driving at the time of the stop and there are no witnesses to prove otherwise. In addition, the vehicle was not parked publicly, but on a private road. It's no wonder that things are getting worse in the US when people are criminalized for trivial things. The main thing is to tie and gag the girl and inflict physical and mental pain on her so that she screams and resists. Then the police can add the point that she was uncooperative and defended herself to the criminal list. This girl will never trust a cop again after this arrest. The US police system is completely fucked.

Entitlement for ya. This generation is going to hell in a hand basket
@@772amanda237 Must be nice to be so entitled. Looks like they're giving out medical marijuana cards as soon as they pop out of the womb. The smart phone is given when they leave the hospital. 😂😂🤣
Couldn’t she be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor?
she could have, they let her go on that.
No they couldn't have because there was no evidence of the minor actually smoking the weed. @@77Avadon77
And dui
Or dui even tho there in a legal state they were still driving high
Technically, there are probably 10-20 other chargers that could be applied in almost all cases like this. Usually they will only tack on one or two because they are almost always plead down anyway. A case like this will see likely end up in a plea that only finds her guilty on the possession charge and likely will be a deferred judgement.
If people were actually charged with everything they could be, and convicted on all of them, and had their sentences maxed out and consecutive, this girl wouldn't see freedom until her 40th birthday.
No comment on fault but this cop immediately came off as an entitled robot
I smoke my medicine in my car?? Omg next generation of so called adults
Im 35 and i still dont swear in front of my mom and when i do i apologize for it. she laughs at me for doing it but its called respect.Something people these days dont have anymore.
I know right?? I am middle age and my Mom is in her 80's. I swear a little in front of her, but my mom despises the F word and hates taking the Lord name in vain. To this day, I will not say these things in front of my Mom as I respect the lady who literally brought me into this world!!
@@sydneysomer9958 😊😊😊😊 LINDO.
I would never swear or drink in front of my parents. Ever. I was raised right.
Same man, never swear in front of my folks either, and my dad would whupp my ass if I was caught smelling like weed when I was younger
Thank You for respecting your mom. My daughter is almost 20 & she don’t swear nor does she let her boyfriend or friends talk any kind of disrespect around me or even where I may be able to hear them. Even if she’s on speaker phone she tells whoever she’s speaking to that I can hear them so watch what they say. I love that my child has that much respect around me & me the same for her & we have a great relationship & her boyfriend and friends also have a lot of respect for me as well. My daughter would never disrespect authority or anyone else for that matter and if she ever did, well she still lives at home so it wouldn’t be in her best interest to come home after acting a fool! Spare the rod spoil the child!
That doesn’t mean abuse your children it means hold them accountable for their bad behavior(s) while they’re young & they hopefully won’t grow up like this hateful mean child! Her parents ought to be ashamed of her!
😂😂😂 the cop when he told them "can you guys stop being snotty please?" After she just called then that
I thought when he said that he was talking to his partners checking the trunk of her car and he was making a joke.
@@YZEtc ohhhh he absolutely was
😂
The pig is a joke lol wasting time on weed when there’s actual criminals, this is why America’s a cesspool
Props to the mom of the 15 year old for making her daughter thank the cops, and props to the cops for being respectful, Hopefully the 18 year old learns from this and doesn't make the same mistake again.
And when I was a teenager, I got screamed at for eating cereal at 9:30 p.m.
This generation blows my freaking mind!! Can you imagine how thats generations kids are going to act?!?!
The good news is I will be dead by then. It will be up to you younger folks to deal with this.
Little Rude Entitled Brats...call Mummy & Daddy, and says to her parent the police are being Entitled 🙄
18 years old, drives a car, smokes weed, has a bad attitude with the police, thinks she's an adult but hasn't matured. Great start in life.
Love the Mother of the 15 year old. She needs to keep her away from lowlives grooming her to break the law along with her.
Thanks for *KEEPING DEATH OFF THE ROADS* officers.
Someone running their mouth as she was most certainly shouldn’t cry when arrested.
That mom knew EXACTLY what her daughter was doing and who she was with 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 actor of the year
"I'm not doing anything wrong!"
"Marijuana is illegal here"
"Yeah, but I don't think smoking it is wrong"
"That's not how it works"
my medicine
Parents have lost control.
Wrong or not, smoking anything is bad.
Lol only in shithole Florida do they still arrest for marijuana, garbage swamp state
We need to legalize it already. Obama promised it in both campaigns, and never delivered, proving himself useless. More than half the country uses it. If we're a country that's supposed to be for the people and by the people, then the laws should represent the will of the people. These cops would have had no right to harass these girls and circumvent their constitutional rights, if it was legalized.
Mommy and Daddy are the reason the public gets to put up with this shit. Parents take no control or responsibility for these monsters😮😮
Don't act like children of this pathetic new generations are saints!
First thing you DONT do when smoking illegally in your car. DO NOT PARK somewhere where you are the only car! That’s the easiest red flag for the police. Park somewhere where there are other cars parked to avoid said suspicion.
This is a case of when your big a$$ mouth writes a check that you can’t cash. She was big and bold with the cops until the handcuffs when on, then she started crying like a toddler hoping that would get her out of trouble ( like it probably would do at home with her parents). It’s time to be accountable for your actions.
