Cops need reasonable articulatable suspicion in order to have probably cause to "lawfully" enter someone's car. That's not to say that a cop won't lie about having "RAS". And once a vehicle leaves a driveway, the question of public safety is paramount - hence, public safety officers involvement. One thing I want to know is across our nation the fight against drugs led to strict seizure laws - a person can lose their house or their car. Does it include only select drugs? Only particular amounts? Or is it reasonable to expect if you have drugs in your car, you could lose your car?

      1) If you're going to use alcohol, nicotine, weed, benzos, opiates, whatever, know the law and make sure you're in compliance.
      2) A car that smells of weed begs to be searched. Don't smoke weed in your car, and don't leave anything suspicious or illegal in plain sight.

Never sign the report or other documents at the police station. You have the right to refuse to testify because anything you say can be used against you. The police have to prove that you did something illegal. And this nonsense, she smoked, she could drive, blah, blah, blah. She was not smoking or driving at the time of the stop and there are no witnesses to prove otherwise. In addition, the vehicle was not parked publicly, but on a private road. It's no wonder that things are getting worse in the US when people are criminalized for trivial things. The main thing is to tie and gag the girl and inflict physical and mental pain on her so that she screams and resists. Then the police can add the point that she was uncooperative and defended herself to the criminal list. This girl will never trust a cop again after this arrest. The US police system is completely fucked.

She didn't want that break. If she was left standing outside, she would do everything in her power to make it worst. Smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol gives people a sense of entitlement. By placing her in the police car she was protected against herself.

Technically, there are probably 10-20 other chargers that could be applied in almost all cases like this. Usually they will only tack on one or two because they are almost always plead down anyway. A case like this will see likely end up in a plea that only finds her guilty on the possession charge and likely will be a deferred judgement.
If people were actually charged with everything they could be, and convicted on all of them, and had their sentences maxed out and consecutive, this girl wouldn't see freedom until her 40th birthday.

Thank You for respecting your mom. My daughter is almost 20 & she don’t swear nor does she let her boyfriend or friends talk any kind of disrespect around me or even where I may be able to hear them. Even if she’s on speaker phone she tells whoever she’s speaking to that I can hear them so watch what they say. I love that my child has that much respect around me & me the same for her & we have a great relationship & her boyfriend and friends also have a lot of respect for me as well. My daughter would never disrespect authority or anyone else for that matter and if she ever did, well she still lives at home so it wouldn’t be in her best interest to come home after acting a fool! Spare the rod spoil the child!
That doesn’t mean abuse your children it means hold them accountable for their bad behavior(s) while they’re young & they hopefully won’t grow up like this hateful mean child! Her parents ought to be ashamed of her!

We need to legalize it already. Obama promised it in both campaigns, and never delivered, proving himself useless. More than half the country uses it. If we're a country that's supposed to be for the people and by the people, then the laws should represent the will of the people. These cops would have had no right to harass these girls and circumvent their constitutional rights, if it was legalized.

This is a case of when your big a$$ mouth writes a check that you can’t cash. She was big and bold with the cops until the handcuffs when on, then she started crying like a toddler hoping that would get her out of trouble ( like it probably would do at home with her parents). It’s time to be accountable for your actions.
