I'm continually floored by the amount of people who talk themselves into getting arrested instead of a ticket.
im continually floored by the number of cops who cant take 2 minutes to understand the situation theyre putting people in over some BS, and have some empathy and compassion and treat them as people, instead of power tripping over them. Dude should have gave the license of course, but if the cop wasnt such a dick the driver probably woulda given it to him.
cops response to the guy sayingf youre wasting his time, coulda been something as simple as, sorry man, im just doing my job, ill do my best to speed this along for you, i know youre a busy person too. instead he was just a monotoned robocop a-hole from moment 1.

Humans are capable of exhibiting extraordinarily low emotional intelligence.
His charge was dropped, the cops ego was bruised so the cop was wrong because the arrest was bogus.
Ok, that did not turn out so well for him.

At least his time was wasted though.
"Your decisions, not mine " Exactly ! When will these people take responsibility for their own actions ?
Lot of respect for the officer in this situation. He didn't waste a lot of time talking in circles with the suspect, he reached the reasonable boundary of courtesy and just arrested the guy once he could see he was getting nowhere. Sometimes the officers just talk too much and engage the suspects in exchanges when the outcome is clearly not going to be good either way.
The officer also has a very clear, concise, and direct style of communication without being rude or disrespectful.
They dropped the case. Big surprise there. Its not wonder people go around acting like this. Never held responsible.

Let me react by becoming as obtuse, disagreeable, and abrasive as humanly possible and make the simplest most routine interaction into a combative argumentative confrontation."
And then this individual will go around thinking he's been victimized and harassed by police. He caused this ridiculousness 15000%. Its absolutely baffling.
Yeah, let me argue with the ticket instead of just complying and fighting it in court. At least then he might have not been late for work. I wonder if they fire people over stuff like this.
my best guess is misinformation online about rights and such.
Probably because acting belligerent has gotten him out of trouble in the past. Luckily these officers weren't having any of it.
Because of exactly what happened. Go to jail, bond out the next day. Go to court, plead not guilty and request a jury trial. Prosecutor doesn't want to waste the time or taxpayer money on a trial, so they drop the charges. There are no repercussions for acting like this anymore. Then it is glorified by the media and social interactions, and it continues to get more frequent.
Obtuse? Thirty days in the hole.
"You're wasting my time." Demands a jury trial... ugh
I’m 72 years old. I have been pulled over maybe a dozen times since I got my license. Not one single time did I smart off or argue with a LEO. He knew he was wrong. He purposefully made things worse. He could have been out of there in less than ten minutes. Courtesy goes a long way.
I'm 66, had 2 tickets in my entire life, both when I was a new driver under 18. I grew up around cops, knew better than to lip off. My ex went through police academy and I helped him study to the point the instructor wanted me to finish the course and become a cop (but I was already 32). When my now-husband (30 years this year) and I bought a used car, I was picking him up for lunch when we got pulled over and four cars of cops came up and blocked us. I told my husband to put his hands on the roof and don't move, this is a felony stop and I have no idea why. The officer came up, I already had my license and insurance to hand out. I used the polite "sir" thing, and found out our license plate was for a stolen car and didn't match our car. Ohhhhh, okay. I just bought this. I also keep my purchase papers in the glove box just for that reason. Handed it out, they thanked me, told me to get to the seller and get temporaries until we get new plates and have a nice day.
So yeah, we learned early that being polite and listening, obeying, and explaining things will work. (but it doesn't work going the wrong way on a one way street, my first ticket ever, I was 16.)
That is the problem. People do not know the law, The Constitution and their own rights. Submitting yourself to any leo without question made police into the corrupt force that is today. They think they can get away with the most outrageous demands and law breaking activity. Nobody is asking anybody to be an arse towards the police just to politely assert your rights but guess what police do not like that one bit. Just assert your God given rights and learn what those rights are. It is not hard at all.
This seems truly mind blowing for some people, right? To not commit crimes and when checked by police - to comply. What a hard task to perform.
@@CUCABURRAAustralia Comply like a stupid sheep with the most outrageous demands from police. Be polite but assert your rights stated by Constitution and Law. I agree. People shouldn't be allowed to ask for a jury trial on nonsense like traffic violations. I can imagine the prosecutor dropped the case because he didn't want to waste the time of others on 💩 like this.
a night in jail is about reciprocal punishment for the 5 or 10 seconds that he didn't fully give his hand over, to be honest. also worth noting that if you can afford to take a case to trial and it's something minor like this, they often drop the charge. not worth taxpayer money to try and prosecute that much of the time.
I wonder (BLACK) why they would give him (BLACK) special treatment (BLACK) ?
I truly have no (BLACK!) idea!
It'd be racist not to drop it.
Can you imagine the people that put up with his behavior in his regular life
He’s a grown ass man. As another grown man, I learned when to stop running my mouth in situations that call for it
@@notsmii7yMy dad let me talk my way into jail, arguing with cops in front of our house.
Let me sit in jail for about 6 hours. That was the end of that mouth stuff.
@@notsmii7y that’s a man child right there. Fortunately, he got called out by cop 👮♀️ when his mother and grandmother refused to do it. Road side stops are neither the time nor place to flap your jaws. Just give him license and shut up.
Teachers with black classrooms deal with this daily.
_Because they don't have any power over him to do anything about it...other than a boss which he wouldn't act that way to._
Smart move. All he had to do is request a jury trial. he knew the DA wasn't going to tie up resources for it.
Out of all the things to say while having the officers attention "you're wasting my time" is one of the dumbest things you can say.
I was impressed how he was able to calm down and have a civilized conversation. Hopefully next time he can begin the interaction with the police that way.
He received an expensive lesson. 😏
@@GooniesGirl well case was dropped so not really
@@huevosrancheros9584 Well he had to pay towing fees and maybe court fees. He could've lost his job or at least a couple of days worth of work. So, I'd say it was a costly lesson. 🤷🏾♀️
@@huevosrancheros9584yea but he showed what a coward he is by sniveling n whining. Another punk with no respect for anyone
@@GooniesGirl Expensive? He got out without the slightest punishment. And no court fees for blank cases.
Theoretically speaking, he can even demand compensation for the lost time and disturbance.
Who are these people who talk themselves into going to jail?!! Where did they learn they can talk to police with such blatant disrespect & disregard for decency?!! This could've been a simple warning, & have a nice day. These are the people who, for some reason, love to surround themselves with chaos. And you can't have a plate cover in NY either.
⚫️ people, and you can thank the media for their behavior. They are easily brainwashed.
The people that do this are, typically, blacks. Their underdeveloped prefrontal cortex prevents them from thinking about future events, consequences, and greatly impacts their impulse control.
They got it from their family and culture.
These people are mostly from the fatherless community.
@@2punish1no this is the new normal
We learned in the 70’s in drivers ED..when pulled over..keep both hands on wheel..don’t move around and wait for the cop to give you directions..been pulled over many times, but by doing this shows respect..never got a ticket..
And this, ladies and gentlemen is an in-the-wild example of a sociopath.
I am sick and tired of this game. People on misdemeanors are demanding jury trials. Because the courts are so backed up, it is almost a hundred percent guarantee the charge will get dropped. Complete manipulation and it sucks that it works.
There's nothing wrong with demanding a jury trial for a misdemeanor. He could be sentenced to a year in jail for that.
If there's any fault, you can blame the general public for not wanting to fund the courts and jails. Or you could blame the legislature (and again the people) for having a 1 year jail sentence for this type of offense.
@@unnamed_channel I blame him because he admitted he was wrong to not present his driver's license as required by law. He could have pled down to the original ticket easily. But, instead he used manipulative tactics to avoid any consequences.
However, your comments are not wrong in my opinion. But, his immediate attitude was that the traffic stop was wasting his time, he made unnecessary condescending remarks to the Officer, immediately demands for a Supervisor and fails to comply to the most basic request at a traffic stop all show entitlement that in the end was rewarded.
So the lack of any consequences will continue to foster his sense of entitlement just as many others feel they are entitled to not follow the laws.
This is just an example to speak of my frustration at how so many people have no personal honor or feel it necessary to obey the rules. Just before this I saw a drunk Mayor (blew .152) say he was at fault for the accident he caused. Then demands special treatment and threatens the Officers' job. So I see no hope in our authoritative bodies to correct the judicial system when even he cannot respect it.
Thank you for commenting and allowing me to tender my frustrated opinions which obviously are not directed to you. And I do appreciate your valid opinion.
@@anniekinsmishkamouse7575 We have an adversarial justice system. The only way you get a fair outcome as a defendant is to treat the other side as an adversary. If you just throw yourself on the mercy of the police, the prosecutor, and the court you'll likely find none. I'd also argue that he did not "avoid any consequences". He was arrested, had his car towed, spent the night in jail, and got tickets. I assume the prosecutor would know his criminal history and whether or not he paid his tickets before agreeing to drop the charges.
Yeah it is unfortunate since that encourages criminals to continue breaking laws, even if they are minor. I think it would help more if the state was able to hire just one or two additional attorneys to help ease the burden, but I'm not sure how all that is handled as a lay person. It definitely feels like the government only utilizes the absolute bare minimum of the budget when it comes to the judicial side of things.
@@finchvalor One or two attorneys? Florida has 18 million adults and over 650,000 arrests every year. In addition to the lawyers and judges and courtrooms, you need tons of infrastructure and support staff to handle cases.

Sick and TIRED of people thinking they are immune from following the law. Thinking they’re always entitled to.
No cop owes you a roadside debate about your opinion of the law. If you want to argue legal theory, get a lawyer and take your case to court.
At least he took accountability 😂 just funny how he was worried about “wasting time” and ended up wasting more time then the cop would have
Pleading not guilty doesn't strike me as taking accountability.
He didn't take accountability. He was just changing manipulation tactics hoping they would go a little softer on him
also the job would of been understanding, like seriously "hey i was pulled over for minor traffic issue be there soon". but instead now hes gone viral and looks dumb
definetly, once he was in the back the reality set it, they didnt even persecute him in the end lmao and out the next day. hope he learned his lesson to comply @@underratedunity1528
Charges were dropped as it was stupid to begin with
Last year I got pulled over because my license plate cover had some tint to it. I just provided my license, answered the officer's questions and was able to drive away with just a warning. When i got home, the license plate cover was removed and my husband ordered a new one that was completely clear. This man created a problem for no reason.
I had a guy work for me for one day with a mouth like that. I was really happy when he didn’t show up the next day because I was already prepared to fire him.

What is the point of a license plate cover anyway?
That's white privilege for you. I'm more shocked the cop didn't just shoot him.
You know when the other cop walk up and says you remember me . 😂😂😂 so dude is clearly a TROUBLEMAKER.!!!
It could have been so easy.... But zero consequences equals this stupid attitude.
"In the end, the prosecution dropped the case."
Score one for the criminals. Now the guy is going away thinking it's OK to break traffic laws, OK to ignore a cop's lawful order, OK to refuse to identify,... basically all laws mean nothing to this immature child.
The cop must feel really good about all this. He did his job perfectly, but the prosecution turned it all into one big waste of his time and effort.
