He should explain himself and there are very good arguments why he should change.
"I very rarely ask tough question because I don't want to shutdown the other person" is one reasonable factor, but there are other factors that are way more significant, and it is also very convenient.
When you calmly and politely give good-faith counter argument or tough question, then it is up to the other person to answer the polite question in good faith or try to shutdown the conversation due to bad faith or immaturity. Then the audience can see the true color of the guest.
The main benefit of not asking tough question is that you can invite more popular people, especially bad faith people who would "shutdown" under good faith and polite questioning (please be honest. Lex, you way too smart to not understand this). The audience is not perfect, Lex should work with this reality, and politely point out the obvious lies/falsehood someone is saying, instead of avoiding such polite confrontation against obvious bullsh*t just to invite more popular guests, especially ones with bad faith who don't welcome polite counter argument/criticism.

@@JaiHylRubis Friedman's a moo Ron. He thinks that Russia could not destroy Kiev. Russia has held back so many weapons and so much fire power. Kiev is the original Rus city; not Moscow. They are ALL ETHNIC SLAVS.
Look at what has been destroyed by Israel in just a few months.
According to World Military Power Rankings....Russia is #2 and has more nukes that the USA. China is 3. Ukraine was #22 at the beginning of the Russian UN Security Council Member decision to stop the genocide in Donbass. Ukraine did move to #18; even though its power rating is lower. This is due to other nations, like Germany...losing ground in Power Rankings.
And, Ukraine has a bigger issue. They simply don't have enough men to even use the weapons being "financed" to them by the US and NATO. All that "Money" will lead to Zelensky using the Sovereign Governmental Power of Eminent Domain...to simply land Ukrainian property and "monopolies on Infrastructure" over to the US Corporations such as Blackrock; which is nothing more than a fascist joint partners with the US government.
Friedman has NO CLUE. Israel is #17; and it's damn near leveled everything in Gaza....which Russia could have done to Kiev at any time. It's the difference between a World Leader that is not out to commit slaughter and genocide of the civilians population....versus Nations such as the USA and Israel that don't give a shit who gets murdered.
"Urban Warfare" is not relevant when you use 2000 pound bombs to level all the buildings. Tucker's right on that point and your "buddy": Lex has his head up his butt.

Little does he realize that it is our environment that creates such behavior. Competitive environments are responsible for the vast majority of anti-social behaviors. And the richer and more powerful you are? The worse the abhorrent behaviors become as well. As Dr Brown once famously stated, "If I were not studying psychopaths in the state penitentiary? I'd be studying them on Wall st."
I will add that the reason S Korea is sliding down hill (like Japan and many other 'Americanized' cultures) is in decline, is because of the adoption of the invalid ideologies embedded in american culture. The western cultures have forgotten that the word society literally translates from Latin as a Social Enterprise, not an economic one, not a group of 'Individuals" out to get rich. Which is the only guiding light in most western cultures today. From school everyone is taught to "Be Successful", Instead of being good people......

Push comes to shove around loved ones or values in his mind is the only thing. You let go and do all you can to keep the children or values surrounding the kids first
Doing nothing and then everything seems like child danger in that but stamens.
Also could be more lick your battles as fighting chaos in all areas of moral integrity will not help anyone

10:00 Tucker is incoherent and vapid in his stance on Ukraine and Lex doesn't get him to clarify anything. So this is where I stopped listening. Tucker's weaponised ignorance and credulity is staggering. It is despicable that Tucker is trying to 'solve who wins the war' just by looking at munitions production alone, and he doesn't even factor in the US.... it's like "well we should just let a country of forty million majority Christians get invaded and conquered because Russia has some factories" . That isn't how war is done, it's how slimy Russian propaganda gets platformed
Lex just sits in that verbal excrement

Gonzalo Lira was a US citizen, yes. But he was a resident of Ukraine and during the Russian invasion he publicly spread misinformation such as denying the Russian massacre in Bucha and disseminated sensitive information about Ukrainian soldiers and journalists. Despite his US citizenship he was subject to Ukrainian law while he was living there.
His death while incarcerated is certainly sketchy and it seems quite likely that he was horribly mistreated by the Ukrainian government... but he was openly supportive of the invasion of the country he was living in. Why jump to the "US conspiracy theory" argument when the simpler argument of "He pissed off the local Ukrainians" is sufficient?

He is out of touch with the experience of most Americans. He spreads misinformation which Fox News has been sued over $7 million for. But I bet you you still think Dominion voting machines rigged the election? Dominion voting machines did nothing of the sort and people like Tucker Carlson ruined their business with defamation lies that were not true, and they were sued and dominion voting machines, one and Fox News paidthey paid they paid for their lies that you soak up like a sponge because you have no regard for the truth. You only want to hear what you want to hear.

I have 3 kids 2 dad's, my sister has 6 with 3 dad's. My oldest has a sister . Who is also my other 2 kids sister..
None were ever referred to as step, half, ... Not.
This is our tribe.. period. And I always corrected others that described as steps or half's. Unnecessary division. Even X's were still invited at Grammys table, holiday or not, they all show up for "tea" or offering assistance.
All our kids just Flowed , I was in the hospital having my 3rd child and my Xs family took care of my daughter and her sister, like they are all blood too. So my kids had 3 grandmother's, 3 Granddads, innumerable aunt's uncles cousins. That separately would have been small families. Would have just been my sister and me with 9 kids. And my brother.
The labels should go. Stigma should be forgotten.

Lex, I do truly appreciate the scope and style of your podcast and interviews. We all need to return to our ability to take in long-form journalism and your level approach allows me to listen to people I would not be able to otherwise. My usual tolerance for Carlson is about 10 seconds (based on longer excruciating engagements from time to time). Your own levelness and the fact that you didn't trigger so much of his usual absurdist bombast (signature frown with a variant on "I'm just asking questions here?!!!"") really helped. He still lapsed into absurd innuendoes and assertions at every opportunity but your listeners who loved him going in surely ate it up like gravy while the rest of us at least were able to remember why we gag when we let too much of his nonsense in. I was very tentative at this one, as I was with some other obvious ones like Netanyahu and Zuckerberg and even Musk... but your style worked (though I only stayed with about the first 3rd and skipped to the end for closure/style). A real score for you would be Putin and Snowden (albeit separately).

Is it fantastic to give a liar a platform to spread his lies to millions of people unchallenged? Here are three big lies that Lex did not challenge at all:
      1. "there’s a war going on that is wrecking the US economy in a way and at a scale people do not understand". The war is directly helping the US economy in a couple big ways: it is expanding the local military industrial complex which (whether you like it or not) is part of the American economy, and it's shifted overnight Europe's reliance on fossil fuels from Russia to American liquified natural gas (among other sources). The war certainly damaged the global economy, which also impacts the US, but to categorically say that it is "wrecking" the US economy when there are obvious other positive factors and negative factors like COVID is at best extremely disingenuous.
      2. referring to the last election: "It was a hundred percent stolen. Are you joking?" The only justification he gives is "They completely change the way people vote right before the election on the basis of COVID", implying that the big shift to vote by mail is the reason Trump lost. But Trump got more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016! His argument makes no sense. Beyond that, there is literally no evidence of significant amounts of election fraud anywhere. The matter has been repeatedly taken to several different courts and no evidence has been found. The only way to believe this lie is to subscribe to a massive country-wide deep-state conspiracy theory, for which there is also no evidence.
      3. "the Biden administration dispatched Boris Johnson... to say, “No, you cannot come to any terms with Russia.”" Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov openly stated that Ukraine offered a deal in April to have Russia withdraw to their February 23 positions (occupying Crimea and part of Donbas) and Russia refused the deal. To state that the West solely controlled the outcome of the negotiations is an egregious oversimplification. Both sides offered several different deals which all ultimately fell through. Tucker is trying to spin an extremely complicated conflict as if Zelenskyy and the other Ukrainian negotiators have absolutely no agency, which is obviously false.

He WAS fox news. The fact they knew how important he was and followed orders to fire him anyway proves what I believed for years: i.e. fox is very controlled opposition and exists to actually harm the right and in return is funded by the left.
Nothing shocking about that but firing Tucker means money is not their concern ( although I'm sure they are being paid back the losses)
