Ummm, one, the emperor is the reason why Ruyi was sent to the cold palace. Two, he is also the reason why Ling Yunche had to protect Ruyi during her time there. Three, Ling Yunche jumped in and protected Ruyi because that is his job (while the emperor didnt even have the reflex to jump in and protect his son and wife). Ikr! To imply how a person can only risk their lives to save someone is if they love them...you could argue that the emperor didn't jump out to save his kid or wife. Does that mean he doesn't love them? (Bet he would of thrown a fit if someone said that to him)
Ling Yunche a guard, he saved the first empress before when she almost drowned. He's just doing his job and being a good person. How sad it is he became the biggest victim amongst these rumours. They make it seem like he's a player
Chasity Hawk emperor is salty coward and jealous of Yunche who showed that he’s the real man and this emperor is a coward wimp. So he had to demote a and slander good subject. This is called bad leadership.. & stupid just like he was as King Henry 8th.. now as Hongli.. this chimpanzee hasn’t evolved AT ALL!!! just surround himself with yesmen, plotting concubines, yay-naysayers bad eunuchs, but a good subject and guard and you punished people for doing their job loyalty and did not shirk from fear of harm or death.
He slapped Ruyi twice for doing her job as Empress. Punished Yunche harshly for helping guarding Ruyi. And for saving First Empress rewarded him poorly.. pathetic.. he’s stingy in wrong place; yet generous to criminals.
Tbh he probably wasn’t aware (or his senile mined forgot ) that his wet-nurse hired Yunche to keep her safe and Yunche did his job saved her then from the fire his first wife/ empress planned and the snakes too. This emperor is better thrown into human meat grinder ya!

Its frustrating to me is that the concept of childhood love is the best. And yet, the emperor and empress had that and then the emperor was lured by lust and basically pushed the empress to the side. It's frustrating
I guess once he realized he could have any woman he wanted, as many as he wanted, their childhood love began to mean less and less, but what annoyed me more was how he basically allowed her to endure such BS from those jealous consorts and the late empress.

No wonder in Huan Zhu gege, the step-empress becomes cold hearted as depicted on this series, too. She’s getting hurt multiple times because her husband. Qianlong whom she cares always neglects her.
I’d think Hailan would go to Empress Dowager to get support, that Hailan saw how Yanwanwas like another Arou so she told Consort Chun & they sent Yanwan to Flower dept. because she’s like ARou.
Yanwan was ungrateful that Ruyi did a good thing for her, not knowing Wei’s lies, she was only thinking Yunche would be able to see her more in the inner palaces and marry Yanwan later.
Ruyi saved her from hard labors of flowers picking & got her out; thus emperor got to see her since he’d never ever go to flower dept. she’d be stuck there forever if not longer. One thing I hate is ungrateful bitches or bastards.. and that’s Wei and Hongli.

I feel sad for ruyi despite all the good things she'v done as a empress the emperor did not appreciate it..Horrible Emperor only he want is to have so many concubine's and hve children evry one of them...He could also slapped the empress for ther sake for her concubine's... Compare to The Story Of Yunxi Palace i really2x admire imperial consort Wei Ying Lou..And her Cinderella Journey..Eventhough she is only a low imperial maid bfore as long as she know's that she is right no matter what happen she fight what she believe..She is fighter brave and smart also she know how to play tricks to other eveil concubine's and consort of the emperor Qing if im not mistken..That's why The emperor adore her a lot❤❤❤❤..But any way they are both great movie's....

In order to not look like a bad husband and bastard, neglectful emperor of his Harem to allow the first Empress commit so many crimes and murders of the concubines and babies for years, almost a decade, he lied and wrote fake poems to show off his “love & devotion” when he never showed much all the years.. also makes her wants his approval all the more and do anything to get it & keep Empress position.
