I sympathise with her at the start, since it's obvious she was telling the truth when she said her mother pressured her not to marry Ling Yunche and kept asking for more and more money. I understand how that may cause her to be ambitious, and then also there's the abuse by Jia Guifei, and that eunuch whispering in her ear. But some of the things she did, they cannot be forgiven no matter what your parents are like. She is definitely a complex character.
