Another option is priming the project and filling the nail holes with spackle after. DryDex is what I normally use for projects I paint. Also, using glue when screwing the shelves to the back panel would give it much more strength. I'd also predrill the holes when attaching the shelves to the back panel with a countersink bit to avoid splitting and it also makes the back more flush.
Good video though! Nice way for new people to get started!
You made that so easy for this beginner. Thank you.
Thank you for doing a tutorial without a Kreg jig. Great tutorial!
Wow! Glad I saw this ! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful
Wow it’s beautiful!!
Great exactly what i was thinking about building
What are your recommendations for a stain finish instead?
Nice!
This is a great video!!! Very nice...
Thank you so much I’m glad you enjoyed it!
GREAT video! Easy to follow.
love this, embarking on my first real wood working project and using your video as a guide! Two questions, did you add wood filler where the vertical face boards meet the shelf face boards (to give it a singular piece look) and when adding the bead of caulk, do you use any special type of caulk for wood? Thanks!!
Thanks Ryan! Yes, where the joints meet we is filler and sand smooth. For caulk I just use the Alex plus 20 minute white
Hi, so do the screws for extra support go through the shelves or are under them?
Any worry about movement on the top piece you added?
No with it being one board, the movement will be very little over time and we don’t have to worry about multiple boards splitting
What's the difference between a miter saw and a table saw? Can't you do all the cuts on the table saw?
All I have are hand saw 🪚 hammer drill nails 🤷🏻♀️
can i just buy it 😂😩
lmao "diy" step 1: own a wood-working shop
Exactly....
You can rent out time at a woodworking shop or just go to your local hardware store (usually the same ones you buy your equipment from) and have them cut your dimensions for you: you don’t have to own a shop.
Beginners psh yeah..
Why use plywood? It's cheap. Although thank you so much for taking the bookshelves step by step. There isn't a drill on the list.
Worried about not having a pocket hole jig......... uses massive shop with expensive tools and large modified work benches😂 . The one tool beginners should get. Just giving you a hard time
Great presentation but please get rid of the annoying music
Agreed or lower it
The build was nice to watch but the music was HORRIBLE!!!
