You all have to remember that this firearm is really a Beretta through and through not a copy or clone but a genuine Beretta that is souped up with a overbore from 9mm to . 40 mm , double stack mag and acc. rail added, safety position is also improved . All the skill and tooling that went into this firearm is still Beretta and nothing else with the exception taurus engraved their name on it . In my eyes it still is a Beretta and functions with the Beretta quality we all come to expect from such great firearm lineage. I bought mine 3 years ago and out of all the guns in my collection this is the one I take with me when I hike or hunt as a personal protection firearm in the backcountry of Kentucky. This one is a keeper I will never part with it. I strongly endorse this firearm to any one thinking about buying one. "these firearms are no joke."
Went to buy a Beretta in 1982 & came home with a PT100 in blue.....and had an absolute "blast" with it:) This was a year that also saw a S&W 686 snubby and an electroless nickle Colt series 70 1911 in 9mm move in with me, and the Taurus was actually shot the most! Your videos bring back lottsa good memories...thanks. MIKE
BATJAC J.W I've had a love/hate relationship with Beretta's for years because of their thumb eating slide mount safeties. The PT-92 - 101 are just as good and exclude those issues - at least for me.
Ironically, the first generation Beretta 92 had a frame-mounted safety. That was the design that was built for the Brazilian military. Beretta moved the safety to the slide with their second generation design - the 92S.
Great video. Love this Pistol. I got this gun from Academy Sports many years ago. Until then I always was a .45 1911 guy. My Springfield full size 5in barrel .45 is like driving a Cadillac. But let me tell you something. I love shooting this PT 101 pistol. Extremely accurate and easy to shoot. My kids have all been trained on this pistol and we would have shooting competitions with cans and things using this pistol. Everyone that shot it did great. We would start out at 10 feet away and then move to 20 feet and then about 50. I now have this as my in home defense pistol with a light and green laser on the rail. Too bad they don't make it anymore. For the price and quality you get it was the best deal I ever got on a weapon. We probably have 1000 rounds through it over the years. I can remember not one problem with it.
Beautiful gun I want one, amazing high quality video, clarity is awesome a cut above most others with great info... What more can we ask in a gun video...Rock on Boss Man...
Steve Hughey First video with the new camera. As soon as I learn how to use it properly, the video quality should continue to improve. Thanks for your comments.
I own three .40sw. pt101. I worked in the package goods business in the '90's best part about these when walking home at night in the era of the wolfpack is they look positively titanic under the streetlights! Accurate too.
Not sure what Patrick is talking about but I have a pt92 that has ran like a top straight out the box and for 1000's of rounds since. Unfortunately, that is a hell of a lot more than I can say for some of my "big brand" guns costing 3x the price!!
The Berreta was my duty carry as a Nuclear Security officer. Its safety was on the slide. Tap and Rack always engaged the safety when racking the slide. As a result, many drills suffered

carry a Taurus 845 daily, used to carry a 1911 also Taurus. I love the man up comment. I carry the 845 because I love the 12 + 1 capacity over the 1911 8 + 1. I'm thinking of getting a pt100.
Good video, and very nice review. The Taurus clone is my preference also. 9 or 40. Hated Beretta's choice for placing the safety on the slide. So when I saw Taurus had moved it to the frame I hopped on it.
+MatteoSixSeventyFour I think Beretta's slide mounted safety was them just being lazy when they essentially just copied the Walther P-38/P-1 when designing the 92. I love the frame mounted safety also, very 1911ish
I had a PT 100 and loved It. I had bought a Beretta 92 from a friend to shelter it from being sold off during his divorce. I sold it back to him after things were final and loved shooting the gun so much I wanted another one. When a coworkers brother put his PT100 up for sale I jumped at the opportunity to buy it. It wasn't as smooth as the Beretta, but it wasn't anything a good gunsmith couldn't have polished and given a trigger job to fix. It was every bit as accurate as the Beretta, and I could double tap it all day long at 21 feet and overlap the two shots. Group sizes were always under 2.5", and it was fun to shoot. I want another one. Some day.....
Good review sir. I am considering one of these, or a PT92 AFS. My concealed carry gun is a M&P 40c, but considering going back to 9mm for cost reasons. As you noted this is probably too big for daily carry, at least in the summer months. I live in Michigan, Detroit area and for winter carry might be able to consider this. Unrelated question: where did you get the hanging steel target?
I could not say for sure but I do have a lot of rounds fired in this pistol.
sixfteightinguy Like the Beretta 92, they have a typical military style trigger. Not exactly crisp but with a little practice, not all that hard to master. For actual competition, I personally like the (Tanfoglio) Witness Elite Match.
+isotoperesearch11 Yes, the magazines can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. The base of the magazine does have to be reinstalled to capture the spring and is not a separate part.
All your videos are very interesting and very beautiful the weapons that you present. What surprises me is that when you take the gun you risk your thumb putting it behind the hammer and the slider. It can be very painful.
yaaa buddy lol.. great review.. I'm considering either the pt100 or the glock 23.. I like them both! think I'll go with the pt100 first, as I really prefer the way it fits in my hand over the glock, idk the G23 is great an clearly a better carry gun. think i'll get the pt100 for home an the glock23 for the road.. anyway enjoyed watching you beat the hell outa that steel plate! ;)
If I'm not mistaken the only PT 100's that came with 16 rd mags were a special run they did for Academy Outdoors. Also on those pistols a standard Taurus mag did not fit. All others had 11 +1. I may be wrong, but thats my understanding?
Hello, what's a good price for one just like in your video with the finger grooves on the hand grip (earlier model?). I've found an almost new one still has box and papers and 2 sets of grips and one mag for 300. Fair price?
Just picked it up it's in really great shape. Tiny bit of surface rust on the rear finger grooves which I've already removed. Came with box, extra set of hogue grips, both safety keys (ugh). Only one mag though so I've ordered a Mec-Gar 15-rounder. Thanks for the video it helped me to decide. It's a "big" gun size-wise, lol.
Very nice video ! To be honest, the gun really looks fine and the Stainless Steel finish really does look great on the PT-100. The only major complain I have in the aesthetics department is the rail. Gosh, how much I loathe does rails on pistols (yeah, I know that they are practical and useful). They kinda ruin the whole general image of a gun. Still, even with the rail, you have a pretty neat gun and I really like it and the video you made!
robert h No, not yet. When I'm out and about, it generally resides in a quick access travel safe mounted inside my truck. I carry a Colt Defender on my hip otherwise.
Some rails may not be as practi`cool as we want! But I could see keeping a quick mount flashlight close at hand/pocket, for hands on or hands free usage? Maybe get the guide rod laser, if you get left unsupervised with the credit card again! LOL
+TheSadGuy eh, the rail on this seems less noticeable than on other pistols. I think since the Berettas and Tauruses hide it because they altered the frame since the original models. The frame is no longer flush with the slide, so the new rail is kinda hidden by the recessed frame IMO.
+John Ski I would also check the mag catch itself as well as the magazines to make sure everything is working correctly. Clean and lube the assembly first. Sometimes it is the most simple solution.
+Icarryone Ugh thanks for replies. Turns out one of the two magazines has the cutouts for the magazine catch cut too low so it seats too high and gets chucked out every shot :( Not really fixable. Someone at the Taurus plant got lazy and didnt check the placement. Orderd 2 more 16-round plus mags from Taurus but they said it will be at least 6-8 weeks :(
Hi Sir, you can please post the model and name this laser you use and if is not to much trouble a link for i found one? My name is Marcus, I'm Brazilian, and recently the law change for here and we can buy guns again. My father was military but she pass away a long time and I lurn about guns from RUclips for have more knowledge about for practice sport shoot. Thank you. I'm really happy for see a product made here being appreciate for Americans because I know you guys love guns and understand about the subject.
Icarryone well im actually a little bitty guy im only 135 pounds but am 6'2 tall ..always been skinny and im in my mid40s now ...im headed to get a pt100 p. tomorrow and i just bought an grand power 9mm ..i also own a ruger p94dc 9mm and a pt101 40 taurus..and a pt99 afs Taurus in 9mm ! i love full sized pistols simply for reliable reasons ..hammer fired reason..and i KNOW they are there and will work with any ammo out there and no compromise can be had with my life on the line in any situation! thank you for your videos and knowledge and to all the 9mm guys saying its a better round ...you wouldn't say that after a 250 pound guy charges at you and you had a 40 instead of a 9mm - trust me
what is this exact model, stainless .40 with the rail and finger grooves in the frame cant seem to find this exact model and this is what i been searching for
+Icarryone thats what everyone keeps telling me, even ordered one and ended up sending it back due to the fact its not the exact model as the one in your video, google the two models that you just posted here, both are lacking the finger grooves on your model here, the taurus PT-101P had them but was not stainless
+nathan campbell It's a Taurus PT100 Plus. These have propietary mags; you can not use regular non-plus PT100 mags. The Plus model mags are double stacked (16 rounds) and are thus 2mm wider than the normal PT100 .40 cal ones. Good luck finding them. I hear you have to contact Taurus International.
+Icarryone That's an interesting hold you use on a handgun - with your weak hand thumb wrapped around the back of your strong hand. Guess it works well for you?
Good review. I like the fact that the safety is on the frame instead of the slide, and the unique slide serrations. Also a nice finish - is that polished stainless?
The slide is polished stainless. The frame is a polished alloy that helps keep the weight down. I actually do like the frame mounted safety a little better than the one on my M9.
@@lancescott6513 I looked into it a bit and it sounds like you will need to replace the barrel, slide and recoil spring for good measure. I think the frames are identical. Not sure what that would cost but you could probably just buy a second gun for an extra $100.
+TheRazberry01 I've seen them priced lately between $475.00 & $500 for the polished stainless models. Depends on where you look - it's best to shop around.
Icarryone I'm wondering the difference between the PT92, PT100 & PT101.... if there's any major difference beside the barrel caliber. Will the 101 or 100 accept the 92 barrel? I'm sure this isnt a common question you get...
Icarryone I do you think $365 for a PT 100 blue + 8 mags carrying case is good price overall condition is 95% mostly because of wear on end of barrel..
I guess while we are on the subject of asking you could sell me that awesome handgun at half of what you paid for it with promise it will have a good home and be loved...
I've had my PT100 for going on 27 years now and carry it every day. Not one single malfunction in all those years. Love my Taurus!!
Never had any issues with this one either.
Obrigado!

from what i have seen the Taurus pt 100 is just as good as a Beretta.
i do like the fact the pt 100 has the safety on the frame.

Nice gun! Like your narrative brings a distinct class you don't find in a lot of firearm videos or any videos these days!
Thanks, I appreciate that, Ron.
Never even thought about this Taurus handgun before. Thanks, great review!
JG Harts The Taurus PT92 and PT100 are an often overlooked value.

I bought the AR-500 steel target locally and built my own frame for it. I've seen similar steel targets on EBay.

great review. how is the trigger pull? do you think the pt 100 & 92 can be used for competition shooting, especially for beginners like myself?

But I could see keeping a quick mount flashlight close at hand/pocket, for hands on or hands free usage? Maybe get the guide rod laser, if you get left unsupervised with the credit card again! LOL
+TheSadGuy eh, the rail on this seems less noticeable than on other pistols. I think since the Berettas and Tauruses hide it because they altered the frame since the original models. The frame is no longer flush with the slide, so the new rail is kinda hidden by the recessed frame IMO.
Wow,Beautiful Gun,wasn't Even Aware of this Big Game Pistol.Friend of mine has the Taurus PT92 & Has Had NO Issues
Haven't had any issues with this one either. Excellent shooter.
Hey any ideas why the mags are dropping when firing? I'm thinkning a weak magazine catch spring?
+John Ski I've fired it one-handed to make sure I'm not pressing the release button.
+John Ski I would also check the mag catch itself as well as the magazines to make sure everything is working correctly. Clean and lube the assembly first. Sometimes it is the most simple solution.
Icarryone will try it, thanks. By lube should I put some grease in there?
+John Ski Clean it out with a solvent like WD-40 and then lubricate it with a good quality gun oil. See if that corrects the problem.
Just about any laser or weapon light designed to fit a rail will also fit this pistol.
@@Icarryone Thank's

Whats the difference between the PT92 and the PT100 ??? Im a little new to this i just bought the PT92
Roni Bajralia The PT-92 is chambered for 9mm and the PT-100 is chambered for .40 Smith & Wesson. Other than that, they are the same pistol.
Can you put the pt 92 slide on the PT 100 frame
man you're awesome. keep up the work. im a full size carry guy. cant stand the little guns
I'm a fair sized guy myself. I know where you are coming from.
Icarryone well im actually a little bitty guy im only 135 pounds but am 6'2 tall ..always been skinny and im in my mid40s now ...im headed to get a pt100 p. tomorrow and i just bought an grand power 9mm ..i also own a ruger p94dc 9mm and a pt101 40 taurus..and a pt99 afs Taurus in 9mm ! i love full sized pistols simply for reliable reasons ..hammer fired reason..and i KNOW they are there and will work with any ammo out there and no compromise can be had with my life on the line in any situation! thank you for your videos and knowledge and to all the 9mm guys saying its a better round ...you wouldn't say that after a 250 pound guy charges at you and you had a 40 instead of a 9mm - trust me
There's an old saying, "The bigger the hole, the faster the ship sinks."
what is this exact model, stainless .40 with the rail and finger grooves in the frame cant seem to find this exact model and this is what i been searching for
+nathan campbell This one is the PT-100P. They also make the PT-100-FS.
+Icarryone thats what everyone keeps telling me, even ordered one and ended up sending it back due to the fact its not the exact model as the one in your video, google the two models that you just posted here, both are lacking the finger grooves on your model here, the taurus PT-101P had them but was not stainless
+nathan campbell This one is one of the older models. Perhaps they have discontinued adding the finger grooves in newer models. (?)
+Icarryone hmm makes the hunt that much harder lol
Having a bit of arthritis has encouraged me to modify my grip somewhat. For me it's simplify - adapt and overcome.
The slide is polished stainless. The frame is a polished alloy that helps keep the weight down. I actually do like the frame mounted safety a little better than the one on my M9.
Is this model pt100 still in production in 2020 ?
I'm really not sure.
@@Icarryone ok thanks for checking back.
yes my friend, it is still being produced
I just bought one for $219 used in stainless steel
Excellent price!
i got the chiappa b96 40 cal and just got the pt101 9mm ss
Very cool.
Man I love my guns like I love my women, beautiful !
👍😎
linda pistola
Can’t you put a PT 92 slide on a PT 100 frame?
Don't know - never tried it.
Been looking online couldn’t find the specifics on either Slide or frame dimensions
@@lancescott6513 Call Taurus
Guy Markus they’ll say that would void the warranty
@@lancescott6513 I looked into it a bit and it sounds like you will need to replace the barrel, slide and recoil spring for good measure. I think the frames are identical. Not sure what that would cost but you could probably just buy a second gun for an extra $100.
Is this gun still manufactured? I want this for my concealed carry....
This PT100(P) is no longer in production - the standard PT100 is still being produced.
Icarryone is the Standard PT100 also made in stainless?
@@SL-dp1pi As far as I know it is.
Icarryone any suggested websites that I can purchase this gun from? I really wanted a beretta until I saw this 👍🏽 thank you
@@SL-dp1pi I purchased this pistol at a local gun shop. Perhaps your local firearms dealer could locate one for you.
im looking to get one how much do they run? i heard the were around $300 a few years ago
+TheRazberry01 I've seen them priced lately between $475.00 & $500 for the polished stainless models. Depends on where you look - it's best to shop around.
Any1 beretta 92 (M9)?
Yes, I have a Beretta M9. Love it.
Same handgun used to kill Gianni Versace
Too bad so many evil people exist.
CDNN Sports has 16-round factory plus .40 mags available now. PT-100 P model only. These will NOT fit the regular PT100's!
+John Ski Good to know where you can get the right magazines.
Taurus PT line much better than Beretta
I hear that a lot.
I wish they made these in 45acp
I wish they did too.
Icarryone I'm wondering the difference between the PT92, PT100 & PT101.... if there's any major difference beside the barrel caliber. Will the 101 or 100 accept the 92 barrel? I'm sure this isnt a common question you get...
Icarryone I have another question is how accurate is it at 25 yards?
Icarryone I do you think $365 for a PT 100 blue + 8 mags carrying case is good price overall condition is 95% mostly because of wear on end of barrel..
try the 845
I guess while we are on the subject of asking you could sell me that awesome handgun at half of what you paid for it with promise it will have a good home and be loved...
Steve Hughey In a nutshell . . .NO!
🇧🇷⚓🇺🇸💪🏻
👍🤠
Versace was shot with this gun
Didn't know that.
sounds like a silencer
+Steven brown Just a sound illusion.
