Thank so much for using the markers once in awhile. Very helpful for us rookies in our progression.
Great video. Having the markers on isn’t as “cinematic”, but it makes for a much better video. Even with RUclips at max resolution, spotting enemy planes in videos is very difficult.
You should do a video on your whole hardware setup, including controllers and mappings. That’s something I find very challenging in VR, since it’s much harder to use keyboard.
I like the markers! Like you mentioned RUclips compression makes it harder to spot targets so they’re quite useful. It’s also interesting to see when you spot the enemies and how you react to them.
Entertaining, markers up to you, with your cinematic there not needed in my view, watched and 👍 Liked

I absolutely like having the markers wish more people did them. I think another way could be to circle them when they're far out every now and then maybe.
At first, I had mixed emotions about leaving the markers on in my videos. However, for the same reason you stated, I thought it best to leave the markers on. I do believe it creates less confusion for the view to be able to see what you see without markers they need markers to see.
As a newer player, the marks makes it infinitely easier for me to understand what is going on.
Nice one, but I like it much more without the markers to be honest. (my few cents)

Surprised to see you flying with the rear armor. I feel so claustrophobic with it installed, but I guess it makes me zig-zag to check my six deeper.

@@SheriffsSimShack I do miss the techno chat btw. I like to study your engine commands, it's a good way to learn engine management. Though I guess this forces me to pay more attention to your instruments when their visible.

Yeah, I imagine doing a video on key setup is a pain. It took a long time to not only figure out how to get my rig configured, but to remember where everything was. Especially as I always fly in VR, and I wear glasses, so I can't just tip up the headset quick to check my cheat sheet. It was quite a bit of work to get down what I felt was a logical(More or less) config that wouldn't take forever to get down pat.
I still hope you'll do a How to on the F2 one day.

The markers on aircraft didn’t do anything for me, all things considered. I’m only left wondering when you’ll put some videos up with the Spitfire mk. XIV.
Those little markers are good for spotting distant targets in RUclips. But I wish they didn't add any text as they get closer - that's distracting to me. Is there a mod or something that could fix that?
I use a mod that only shows a colored diamond and no aircraft description or distance information: forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/38978-mod-icons/ If you aren't a member of the forum I think you will need to register to download.

How do you zoom in while using VR? I just got mine this week and havn't found out so far.
Quick zoom assignments in the pilot head control section of the control menue.
@@SheriffsSimShack I think I tried this yesterday, but it didn't work for me. I put it onto the thumb two-way button on my Warthog stick right below the red one on the top left. But nothing happens when I press the button.
Well I don't know why it doesn't work for you but this is how it should work.
@@SheriffsSimShack I look into it tonight, because without zoom you have a serious disadvantage with VR.
On the other hand it's awesome for flying I have the HP Reverb G2 as well and I am flying sim games since 1989 and it never felt so real. I am still so excited. I dreamed about this when I was a kid and now it comes true.
@@SheriffsSimShack Okay, I got it. Yesterday I did this in the "Allgemein" (General?) settings, but as you told me, you have got to do it in the pilots head control section. Now it works perfectly. Thanks!
What performance do you get with the G2? What resolution are you using and what settings?
IL-2 Graphic settings for VR:
Games VR resolution is set to 70% in Steam VR. I get more than 90FPS this way.

@@nachtraumom i cant compare. But its really good, performance at 90hz is good.
@@nachtraumom no shadows look better than low shadows. Low shadows just look like crap.
Way easier to follow with the makers on.
The labels don't ruin the video for me. Solo stuff where you don't call it out is best for them.

Great video, but the terrain looks so dated for 2021 compared to MSFS and even Warthunder.
It's in VR so graphics will be set lower

This is a combat flight simulator, not a terrain simulator lol
Besides there's nothin' wrong with it, looks fairly realistic as is. Il-2 1946 already had terrain that resembled terrain, thus fulfilling its purpose of being terrain :p
(okay the flat forests and colliderless single trees were weird, but hey, least that game doesn't lag lol)
