Now you need a mini fridge next to ur bed and a 14' crt on your desk you'll be living the peak 2004 life
ha haa ha lol XD
That's a good idea
apart from they were all March 2003 lol exactly a year after Hulk
Thank you.
A friend of mine gave me a Xbox. He passed away, I was about to trash it but it can be repaired, I won't use it a lot but It was his gift.
dude's videos remind me of early RUclips no doubt, dope console man congrats
Hat off to you, this is a very nice build. No idea why people moan about taking a rare Xbox apart. Being a rare console does not make it immune. Sadly I received one a couple of years ago, it was working, but after I removed the clock cap, I started cleaning all the acid off some of the resistors surrounding it just started falling off, it was one of the worst clock caps i had seen, the surrounding area was just white crud, the acid had eaten through most the solder joints and even some traces were exposed. The damage done by the acid resulted in the board being beyond repair. The good news however, I was able to harvest come components to save other Xboxes. The reality of leaving them unopened for the sake of originality, will only result in a rare paperweight in several years time. It is possible to have matching stickers remade if you want to hide the fact it's been opened.
I feel like the Hulk/Pepsi Xbox is the holy grail. I love my Mountain Dew box, but I see them all the time. Only seen the Hulk box in one or two collections.
I mod Xboxes weekly, yet I still watch these videos. This shit is satisfying to me.
Also, you're brave for using those generic IDE-SATA adapters. I just stick with Startech. Only had one fail over the years.
Can you mod my 1.2 👀
Ive found as a newb, if you put dots on all caps oriented towards the same side of the board. Replacing a capacitor at a time. Its almost fool proof to keep the caps oriented correctly.
I love how you trolled with the stickers lmao. You paid your money for it, do what you want to do lmao.
Nice tutorial! May I suggest that you can get the bulk of the thermal paste compound off the heatsinks using a razor scraper. Scrape parallel to the brushed grain on the heatsink. The CPU almost never has anything on it. The GPU can also be scraped (hold the blade perpendicular to the chip). This avoids having to use any solvents.
Also, AS LONG AS THE DRIVES ARE PROPERLY SET TO MASTER AND SLAVE, the IDE cable can be mounted however you want. I prefer to have the "middle" connector attached at the motherboard, the shorter end to the DVD drive, and the longer end (routed to the side of the DVD drive, then over the DVD drive and toward the HDD). This allows you to avoid having to fiddle with the cable and folding it multiple times behind the DVD drive. Moreover, the cable should be more or less lined up with the little tab that holds it down.
Great build awesome video
Excellent video, really enjoyed it :)
I would recommend, I mean since you went that far, to pull the rubber feet, clean off the old adhesive, and reapply some rubber glue, for a solid foot adhesion. Otherwise nice work
Thanks! Laser bear just designed some new feet with the screw holes cut out. I'll be grabbing those for all my consoles. I'd prefer to keep those screws accessible in case I need to get in there.
Only 3.30 in and you've got me, not trying to sneak into stickers lol what's anybody trying to hide 😂
One of my dream og xboxes along with the green and orange halo editions
i enjoyed watching this! the Dew edition xbox is dope! Also, the LEDs are a nice touch. Are you going to be play on Insignia?
Thanks! Hell yeah I am 🤘🏻
Great work man! Love your raw unpolished vids! You probably have allot of work on them 😊!! Great!! Ps is there anyway to het your full hdd Xbox dump?!? 😅
MAD SKILLS BRO
I have one also. It sat nib for years until one day I decided to remove the clock cap. I had a Xecuter 2.6 V1.0 Xbox back in the day that got ruined by it. I opened MD edition and the same three caps were leaking as yours. They leaked without ever being used, lol. I replaced them and tested the system. The clock cap was ok but I removed it for safety. Are these V1.3 or 1.4? Got it with Pepsi points back in the day, 500 or 550 if I remember correctly.
I have got good in doing the ram upgrades by using a j02 tip
Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt that checkered pattern on the warranty sticker only show up after its been taken off..? Also, is it important to not make contact with the motherboard traces with the sodering iron?
What Hard Drive dock do you use to copy drives?
Just wondering, the leds you've linked are 12v & are running from a 5v power rail. Does that run fine?
whats the marker on the pcb? kinda looks like a signature, but i dont know who or why. ive done a bunch of xbox's never say a big ark like that...
Shouldn’t you have wired the controller port Leds to the yellow wire instead of the red since they are 12Vs?
When i wire them up i install them in the controller ports under the shield
There’s one for like $699 kinda wanna buy it now thanks LOL great video man
What benefit do you get from the RAM upgrade?
For the controller ports, we're you using 5v prewired LEDs? The Amazon link sent me over to 12v prewired. Just want to make sure I was looking at the right ones. Super sick build btw!! I just snagged up a beat up Halo Edition with a dead 1.6 and had to slap in a 1.2 with 128mb I did a while back.
Yes 3mm 5v
do you also ship the modchips to other countries if i contact you?
Do you have a xbox that's fully upgraded for sale?
Where van i buy one preloaded these days? I have a 2tb from 2014 with 500+ xbox games, but its a little dated i think.
Do you do this for other people?
man i wish i could find a preloade hdd for this and 360. it takes for ever to do each one be one so i gave up lol
I need this done to my Mtn Dew where are you located
Where can I buy this ?
Very interested in having one of these beauties would you ever consider selling one or making one ?
That's dank
I see you're using one of the newer Aladdin chips with the xblast cpld firmware on it, was the code updated for it recently?
No original code but it works with these Aladdin’s. Some other variations don’t though
@@ModzvilleUSA Damn, luck of the draw I suppose.
With removing caps sometimes I'll use my iron to remove the cap then use the desoldering gun to clear the through holes
can i get eeprom bin file for 1.6 motherboard?
So it WAS 3 capacitors instead of 5!
I got to fix my brother's Xbox and his got 5 of those caps next to the CPU! Maybe different generations of Xbox have different amounts of caps?
Yep, I just recapped my Version 1.4 and it has 3 capacitors near the CPU, however my Version 1.0 I did a while ago has 5 capacitors.
Not a legend but use flux when wicking, in fact always use flux! Great video.
Next time try to put a lil flux on the braid so solder sticks to it for the holes
Still doing the Lord's work 🙏 👍
Wish the solder they used cleared out better thats all i hate when recapping a xbox the solder is a pain
Broke the Xbox cherry . Stupid question , how rare are these and a little more history ? Thanks for the fun watch .
there's about 6000 of them, some were for the contest, some were for employees. They're not too expensive, I got mine for 100.
you could do 1000 vids of these and I will watch them all even on repeat I bought a couple chips from you and as well as the ram chip am actually modding and old xbox I got laid around it's a 1.0 I added the make mhz hdmi adpater on just the ram upgrade has to be done now, time lapse due to with work and home I have not complete the full upgrade yet
Ídolo! Thanks
Could I pay you to setup a 4 TB hardrive for me?
I can do all the other mods myself but would a hardrive setup like yours.
Im a noob and still learning stuff like this so my question is why not just tin those pads since they werent pre tinned?
Tell me why you wanna tin them pads?
@@ops7917 because ive watched a lot of northridge fix videos and he ALWAYS pre tins pads before using hot air on an ic
You great
I have a mighty need, only xbox that would've been cooler, would've been the Panzer Dragoon Orta Edition
Next time bt on the mod chip goes to ground on the mod chip and d-o goes to the via
Not for xblast. Grounding bt on an xblast results in a frag
What is that beeping I hear every now and then?
That’s my iron going into sleep mode
@@ModzvilleUSA ohhh.. i couldn't figure it out. sounds like contunity test of a multi meter. Nice work.
Just put them in the same way you got them out snip them first
Can u re do mine
Yeah shoot me an email with what you want done and we’ll work it out
@@ModzvilleUSA I would like an upgraded modded Xbox for sure. I would like to play the new online service
White whale
I dare you to pin me
