    Super clear instructions - so easy - took me a few minutes to cut out, insert in the hat and another few minutes to sew. Love it…

    This is very helpful. I do crochet baby hats and I feel they need something soft in them and, of course, it looks pretty.

    This is such a great tutorial, thanks!! I love crocheting hats and have wanted to learn how to insert a fleece lining forever. I’m not great with sewing machines so learning how to do it by hand like this is so, so nice! I will definitely utilize this method when doing my Christmas hats this year!

    If you do the herringbone sewing stitch I find that is good & strong with plenty of stretch

    Do you need to build some stretch into the hand-sewn seam connecting the liner to the hat? Excellent video!

    I've done an extra stitch at the top of the hat, so that the fabric will stay at place in the hat.

    Do you need to "size up" the hat when crocheting it to accommodate the fleece lining ??

    Thank you so much for sharing this...I've been hesitant to crochet hats because I didn't know how to line them with fleece so this video just gave me the push to do them. Quick question: what type of thread did you use?

    Would this work for a hat that has ribbing. I would not want it to show when you fold up the ribbing so would I cut the lining to end at where the ribbing would start?

  • @lrivera3099
    @lrivera3099 5 лет назад

    Can you fold the fleece and then cut it so you don't have to glue the separate pieces? Also, flipping the hat inside out is easier to sew it.

    • @crochetandcrashhelmets3505
      @crochetandcrashhelmets3505 5 лет назад

      Sounds sensible to me. Fold the fleece on the selvedge and then just cut three sides - means you only have the one to sew/glue.

    Can you sew the hem with a sewing machine?

  • @cosicelesti5967
    @cosicelesti5967 6 лет назад +3

    Can you please tell me how to do so the size of the bannie doesn’t get smaller when we add the fleece? Because each time i add the fleece the size shrinks 😔😞

    • @djmc2422
      @djmc2422 6 лет назад +3

      Suma Saßu I believe she said to be sure the stretchy-est part of the fleece goes from side to side which would give it more give

    • @yvonneevans3856
      @yvonneevans3856 6 лет назад +2

      I had the same problem...read somewhere to make sure and prewash hat & fleece to avoid shrinkage. Hope this helps

    • @lrivera3099
      @lrivera3099 5 лет назад +4

      You have to pre-wash the fleece before cutting so it won't shrink once you wash the hat.

    So I’m using my fiancé’s youtube page to watch and comment, would fleece be attached the same way to crocheted ear warmers??

    • @chrislonge
      @chrislonge  4 года назад

      Yes, you would use the ear warmer to measure how large a piece of fleece to cut. You will have to make two seams on each side of the fleece. Then insert the fleece into the ear warmer and pin,and then hand sew it on the top and bottom. Good luck!!
