What joy. In the days before we actually saw them unveiled as real people as they do on chat shows and stuff now. I'll always love Vic and Bob. Adore them. Taught me the word 'minge' when I was about 12! Vic Reeves Big Night Out On Tour DVD.
i havnt seen this clip before and dont remember watching it back in the day. what i can say is that sadly Vic and Bob were on coke when this was filmed. I cant say i have ever noticed this before in any interviews of shows that they have done. but for sure... they are both on coke in this interview. watch for constant lip licking and unnecessary mouth movements from both of them, Bob in particular.
@@SingleTrack66 I don't think so. Bob is actually really shy in reality and especially at the start of his career, this is pretty much bang on for a vic and bob interview
@@Imyournewpeppep Jim Reeves. Hmm. Often wondered what happened to him after that fateful plane crash in '64. He survived and moved to northern England, acquired an accent, and became a comedian.
Nooooo, you're making a schoolboy error there. You once sat on a table with your friend Russell, who also went by the name of 'Russel Square-Once'. He remarked you were queer and passed you the low key to his under-sock hand. It's easy to muddle in the midst of time.
Yes they seem to have lost a bit of their Geordie even though they are both from North Yorkshire originally - Jim, Leeds and Bob, Middlesbrough. Both have lived in Kent for a fair few years.
Jim was an established comic while Bob was a law student without any comedy experience. That's how he got into comedy .. seeing Jim perform, becoming a fan, and then a collaborator. That master/apprentice vibe we feel at the start was very real
I agree. He's mildly amusing in his own "type" of comedy... I mean amongst his own group of snobby middle-class friends at a dinner party he's probably a hoot. But he doesn't "mingle" well with other people from other walks of life. At all.

Minge was about long before them lol
@@paulneedham9885 He was saying they taught HIM the word. Not that they invented it.
I like Bob's Morrissey hairdo.
Bob Mortimer could tell me my mum was dead and I'd probably laugh...he is inherently funny on a level which is beyond normal comprehension.
Bob saying "Jim" more times than I've ever seen before 😂
Vic was a bit handsome. Why did I not notice?
Amazing. So effortlessly funny and totally owned Anderson in this interview. They didn’t give him a chance.
2021 and I've just discovered the vibrating shepherd
You should appear on Novelty Island, dressed as a slightly perturbed farmer, who has a wife with warts and demonstrate the way it vibrated.
From the side bob looks like a young Brian clough
They're both from Middlesbrough. Maybe they share some genes?
Good spot.
Or Morrissey!
The other guy looks like the bloke that used to host Shooting Stars as well.. 😂
He does xx
Nice how Clive said Bob's name before "Vic".
Also Bob saying Judy before Richard.
Clive Anderson looks the same age now, fortunateley he IS now in his 70´s
3:13 😂
Bob is cute 💞
What date is this?
June 26th 1992 www.imdb.com/title/tt17525920/
'Jim' - oops!
Does Bob Mortimer have a tick or something? I noticed he pulls the face at @ 4:17
I think it might be as he realises he called Vic by his real name Jim

Vic looking like Reggie Kray
Glad he wasn't mistaken for Reggie. That sniper might've taken him out.
Ronnie Kray. (Reggie didn't wear glasses). I thought the same.
ROMA KOISAR
2 out of 3 people in that clip worked in the courts...its clearly a springboard to success in showbusiness
anderson is lost
Sat at the same table as them at the Friend at Hand, Russel Square once. They were remarkably quiet and low key.

Same. They were surprisingly down to earth, and very funny.
Vic Reeves or Ronnie Kray
Lol vic coughed on to his hand and shook Clive's hand one second later !! 🤣
"You can't do that on television anymore."
The interview has been a CHOY.... that’s a mixture of chore and a joy... 😕
Ya carnt give baby booze. 🇬🇧
The balding barrister?!?
Some foreshadowing for Bob
Clive Anderson was a barrister.
Coincidentally Bob Mortimer was formerly a solicitor (working for Southwark Council).
Keith Lemons parents aged well
What's going on with Bob's one big eyebrow?
Hahah! Fuck sake
Recreating the angle of a dairylea cheese is a true Art.
It's all about the hypotenuse.
1992 if anyone cares
I care. Thanks.
Most irrelevant talk show prop. An IN- Tray on desk.
Did I hear right? At around 7:29 "There'll be more back chat with the balding bastard this autumn on channel 4"? :) I hope so :)
Barrister
They don't talk like this when interviewed any more.

I always worry Jim held Bob back in the beginning.

Don't. It's not true.
Funny how Clive Anderson doesn't look significantly older now and still has the same hairline whereas Bobs as bald as a coot
not really he was going bald on this and doesn’t look that different now

Love those two! But HOW did Clive Anderson ever get his own chat show? One of the least likeable people in TV history and a terrible host as well.
