I remember us all piling round my brother's house after the pub and watching this. He'd recorded it and we kept rewinding and re-watching this clip and laughing till we peed ourselves. Still makes me howl with laughter. The best V&B moment ever.
It's St. Patrick's Day!! God that had me in stitches. According to Bob, he was gone by this point. Perhaps the only genuinely anarchic moment ever on Comic Relief - just fantastic.
For some reason the memory of this sketch popped into my head.. did a search for "Reeves & Mortimer drinking beer" and... bless my days, here it is. I remember watching this live and gagging with laughter, especially when they went at each other with the saucepans. Comedy gold. Thanks, Uploader!
Apparently they've never appeared on stage sober, so chances are they were already a bit gone before they started - I wouldn't be surprised! One of my favorite things they've ever done, I wish they'd really filmed them trying to drink the whole 75 pints - i could watch this for ages. (the St Patrick's Day bit just kills me). : )
Thanks for uploading this. I remember watching this on the night and laughing like a drain. Looking at it now Smith and Jones in comparison with Vic and Bob look like ghosts of light entertainment past.
Bob talks about this in "This Bloke Walks Into a Bar"-documentary how he had so much beer to drink(even though it wasn't real pints) that if he leaned himself forward beer started to pour out from his mouth.
I caught a little bit of the No Such Thing As A Fish 20 hour podcast for Comic Relief. Richard Curtis was on and he talked about this. He seemed to think they were real pints.
Years ago there was a program about drinking and the comedy scene. Various comics were interviewed including Vic and Bob - who I remember saying that they were often drunk when performing (I think it might have been Bob who said they were never really on stage sober). I recorded the show on VHS (the quality is pretty poor) but I've never had the equipment to convert it and put it online or else I'd share it, as I know how hard it is to find some of Vic and Bob's appearances. : )
oh man! I had never seen this clip before, I bloody LOVE Vic & Bob. The funniest men ever. The BBC are such a bunch of morons for axing Shooting Stars. Apparently the will be back on our screens soon though...hurrah!!
Just seeing the profiles of Smith and Jones again and their 'bemused when confronted by 'actual' comedians' facial expressions reminded me how much I loathed them, much the same as I would later loathe Punt and Dennis
Sadly we aren't allowed to see this type of comedy anymore incase it offends somebody. The PC brigade have destroyed comedy forever. When Shooting Stars got cancelled it was the final nail in the coffin.

27 years ago and it still makes me laugh out loud!
If you are from the UK and missed the early vintage Vic and Bob stuff from the 90's i pity you so so so so so much. :)
Oh you wouldn't let it lie!
@@dsmyify I would have let it lie...
@@Number-tf7cebut you didn't let it lie!
Way back when comic relief was still funny. I miss those days.
It was the three rehearsals that did the real damage.
that's it, it was 100 pints to start with
It's St. Patrick's Day!! God that had me in stitches. According to Bob, he was gone by this point. Perhaps the only genuinely anarchic moment ever on Comic Relief - just fantastic.
The best thing is it's real beer (in stage pint glasses) and Bob's so drunk he starts calling him Jim.
What’s a stage pint glass?
Best comedy double act ever

I've watched this video loads of times, Vic falling over at the end makes me laugh every time!
love the traffic cone … a perfect night out
Bloody hell I remember staying up for this.
Absolutely hammered, the pair of them.

Awesomeness in tears of laughter, brilliant 🤘👍😜🤪😂🤣✌👌💪
My favourite Comic Relief bit ever.
That was absolutely brilliant! Never seen that clip before - comedy gold!
I love both these men equally....alright maybe Bob a tiny bit more
There is a quiet genius behind Jim that enabled Bob to shine. It's kind of a hollistic thing for me. And... Away!
Bob had a bloody good go at finishing the 75 😂
Vic and Bob 💗💗
I've never seen this before, very funny. Well, they always say they've never performed live when sober.
Thanks for posting
Incredible fall at the end from Vic!
I get the feeling from this, and other, videos that Smith and Jones were not at all fans of Vic and Bob.
I think Mel had a small soft spot for them inspite of them usurping them but Griff doesn't really like comedy as far as I can tell.
Ai it's cause they were unexplainably funny. Smith and Jones were good sketch artists in traditional comedy but Vic and Bob were special
their trick glasses that look like a full pint but only hold a little hehe used in many a time in shooting stars :) crafty
😂😂😂 Bob with hair
"Where're my keys ... ?" 🤣
The interest on that £75 in today’s money is an incredible £76.37! Can you believe how far we have come?
Thanks for that....Do you perhaps have anymore useless info 🤔
@@ChiefBr0dy I am not in need of a new trailer.
I remember this being on the telly.

@@essentialatom2 somebody just uploaded his clips from that on youtube, seems it went from vhs to dvd to youtube. Lovely jubbly.

NOEL'S UNIQUE, VIC!

In the off chance you're still following this after eight years - any joy converting it in the meantime?
5:00 Think Vic just turned into Pam Doove...
Hehe Jones at the end 'woahoah he's gonna be sick' (runs away).
3:15 cracks me up!
This is actually really impressive
Absolutely superb!
Well aye they do, it's Vic & Bob.
oh man! I had never seen this clip before, I bloody LOVE Vic & Bob. The funniest men ever. The BBC are such a bunch of morons for axing Shooting Stars. Apparently the will be back on our screens soon though...hurrah!!
Are they back on your screens now Rach?
Thanks so much for posting this and for letting me know! C x
This would never be allowed on TV these days, because drinking more than half a pint is called a 'binge'.
They sing that song SO much better than Mariah Carey ever did :)
Blooody ell! still great
the best comedy is when people do harm to themselves and laugh about it.
I love you purplehaired comedy!
Hi, great video, so funny, do you have the clip of Patsy Palmer with Chris Evans from Red Nose Day 1995.
Just seeing the profiles of Smith and Jones again and their 'bemused when confronted by 'actual' comedians' facial expressions reminded me how much I loathed them, much the same as I would later loathe Punt and Dennis
Fkin Legends
What *is* happening with Lenny Henry now??
He's nodded off at the Premier Inn.
He is escaping from the orbit of his fat wife.
3:30 that dance is a funny as fuck

Love this, great idea to post!
3:46 and 4:07 LOL
Hahahaha notice Bob shouts " Go on Jim!" at just after 3:46
@@gazmanjack Never noticed that before.
4:11 LOL
@@danielwilliamson6180 haha brilliant! Have you listened to some of Bob's own tunes from his Podcast? The Fun Bus is amazing haha
Omg bare funny styll
@soundslave I thought a binge was a hairy bin?
From a time when comic relief was funny...
Whatever was in those pints, they can't have felt good later. Even if it was flat coke.
Bob said they were do full if they lent forward the liquid would dribble out. Who knows if that's true though - Bob said it!
Fake pints. I'm sure
Must have just been coloured water, they'd go into a hyperglycaemic coma if that was coke hahah
best live act ever?
Fucking mental that! Lol
@SethHesio I have no idea what you're saying lol
L-AAAARR-D
Well duh.
I'll let you into a secret - they aren't real frying pans neither.
Do you take us all for fools?! Next you'll be telling us it's not real kebab meat!
Seventy-five pounds: one pint.
How many pounds?
Very pooer!
Very poor indeed!
Who let this pig in the booth?!
You wouldn't let it lie, you just had to go and mention it
Really? Where did you read they were never sober? I suppose you can tell to be honest haha.
Sensibledrinking
@soundslave It's a joke... a bad joke... sorry.
Oh you lying get....
Yeah, they dont actually drink all 75.....

Not funny
Anyone just come from the 2017 comic relief to see if they were ever funny?
Nice meme yep - honestly this year's one was just utter cringe
Vic and Bob are hilarious, some of the finest comedy on TV.
meh
5:33 Go on, get out of it 😂
Hale and Pace was on uver channel
Ad and Rik but less coherent
