A lot of folks complaining about the quality, and I never had pirate bottles ECBP. They are totally different, and the Hazmat is very cola, brown sugar forward. Amazing stuff.
Appreciate you mentioning what laser code you have there. For some reason channels seem reluctant to do so. This past week Easy Andy twice offered to help me out but they were the wrong codes.
I think they have all been good in their own special way. Then when you look at the price for what you are getting they are a buy for me all day. People should also be chasing the Elijah Craig Private Barrel store picks. I have one that’s 137.5 proof that drinks less hot and I think it tastes better than my C923.
Having 3 yrs worth of the most recent bps, I don't think they are worse. I enjoy each one for what it is. I don't like that the most recent a124 is younger, but it still comes in cheaper than what sp's are at. Goal is to get some of the pirate bottles to get an idea of what they use to offer.
‘21 was an off year for ECBP. B521 is a drain pour, it’s just awful. ‘22 was good and ‘23 was better. That said they all have some variation of preference. B520 was great and C920 is on Mt Rushmore of ECBP.
I remember having a similarly confusing experience with batch a122. Some days. I loved it. The first day I tried it I actually didn't like it at all. Everyday I drank it, I felt like I was drinking a completely different bourbon. I remember one time feeling like I got completely slapped in the face with butterscotch. It was pretty good that day.
To many whiners out here. If they don’t have something to complain about they just aren’t happy. It’s whiskey every single barrel will be different. Just be happy and enjoy what it is.
I scored a bottle of the B523, 11y 5 mo. This was my first ECBF and was very excited to try it. I'd give it a B at best as a sipper. Was a little disappointed but still solid.
Interesting what happens to reviewers when they drink high proof bourbon in succession. The sound bites from these tasting non-or just off the wall and making me laugh. I think I would buy Elijah Craig barrel proof at retail but the barrel select at $93 for something under 10 years no way.
If y'all haven't already done it, I'd love to see a blind flight of ECBP batches vs. sinlge barrel picks. I've got a great ten year pick that stands up to any recent batch.
I am several drinks into the A124 now and find it to be a great pour.

Sad thing is I have available at local stores 4 different store picks. All of them higher Proof and better than the A24

Never!! Always phenomenal! I had c920. I got c921 and have yet to open and review c923 with layer code A23 🎉
19 is not the older era being referred to! That said c923 does compare with pirate greats of the past
Cool lineup comparison
Nice review. Love doing this blind to see true impressions. I’ll have to revisit myself. Thanks.

A122 was my first ever batch of ECBP and I loved it. C923 is a beast though.

I think people’s palates change over time, and our memory of how good when we first discovered ECBP is a bit skewed. 🤷♂️
Of course C923 is only one that got snagged up and don't have 🤦♂️

Appreciate the blind. I have never had a bad ECBP.
If I could get away with wearing bourbon scented cologne, that’s all she wrote
How much HAVE yall drank lol?
Please lose the annoying cricket music. Ouch!
