Nice to see a rig set up based on budget choices for once. I went Fanatec for the PS5 compatability (yes with all the problems they were / are having but in my defence I got most of it in the 2023 black friday sale for a fairly reduced price) but it's good to see the large manufacturers at the cheaper end of the market raising their game to compete with the tech specialists. You're also spot on with the sim rig not making a night and day difference to your in game performance. Yes it adds to your immersion in the game and you get a little more feedback to aid consistency but there's no need to spend thousands to enjoy a sim racing game.
This is a great help, only been streaming for just over a year, just thru the PlayStation and have been looking for a better set up. Again this helps. Thank you
That’s how I started, through my PS4! A great way to start streaming, then slowing build into PC streaming when the time is right! Have a great time streaming 🙌🏻
thanks Hun very informative, im 62 years old with a gt dd pro and skinny wrists, totally agree on FFB and turned mine down to avoid damaged wrist. as for the wheel the T148 has shifters that woulod drive you insane :-)
Same same, I'm a playstation and GT guy through and through, have them all. And even though I've moved on to mainly PC sims, I'll always have the current GT and console. Grew up with them and will continue to be there for it. Thanks for the rig tour, always like seeing others setup.
Happy New Year Hun! 🎉Great to see you’re continuing this series. Always nice to have the insight on what and why you have these things. Keep up the average driving and content! 😂
I have a skinny head. When I was a kid, they called me flounder. Its fattened up a bit as I aged but I still cannot wear anything but those hyper X headsets.
11:59 You say about the button setup on the default TM wheel - I hated the layout on the default T300. The buttons are a stretch and annoying while driving to press. I’m so much happier on my Ferrari GT3 wheel, with a realistic button layout.
Great vid @justhun really informative. I use a ps5 controller for my racing and I'm a good B - S standard i would say. I also use my 55" LG tv. Which is awesome. My mortgage and bills come first of course but definitely want a sim rig set up in the future. You have given me some ideas. Thanks x
Bro, kudos for using a controller and being pretty fast. I used to have a pretty good Fanatec set up but in poor judgement since I hadn't been racing for 2+ years and it was just there on the side, when I had to move to a new apartment about 4-5 months ago I dismantled everything and put them out for garbage collection because I thought it would have been too much extra for transport. Recently I've been looking at some sim racing vids and got the urge to get back into it even if just now and then. Now I regret I didn't bring my perfectly good working Fanatec set up with me. I tried using a controller again (just solo practice and just a bit) but I don't feel confident using it. It's like chalk and cheese to me in comparison to a proper wheel and pedals set. Thing is currently I can't afford to even get this T598 bundle right now.
The best hand held controller for racing was a Negcon. It was on the ps1 and a very unique controller perfect for cars or motorcycles. I wish namco would make it again. I am still racing on a thrustmaster t150 with t3pm pedals and $250 conquer racing seat. I'm getting close to buying a dd wheel.
Hi loved your video as always when I finally get a ps5?I’ll use a controller for abit then may buy something similar to yours so I’ll try be good lol . Happy new year and can’t wait do or the next live races 😊
It's great to see a confident, pretty northern lass streaming sim racing. Please tell us your a Yorkshire lass. Personally, I am more than happy using the PS5 controller for GT7. I just don't get the whole wheel setup thing, although I can appreciate it helps with realistic immersion. I would rather save the money and experience the real thing via an open track day. I don't often comment, but just wanted to thank you for your videos. Its great to see you don't take it too seriously although your still very skilled at sim racing. You always have a smile and cheer us up.
My first racing controller was negCon by Namco for Ridge Racer that I used it widely with the original Gran Turismo. Still today I believe that was room for something like that for more casual racing sessions. Mutch better than the Dualsense for racing games.
First, have a great 2025 with lots of sim-racing and fun in the lobby's! What I've noticed is that your wheel is quite high concidering the hight of your seat? Isn't it way better for controlling the wheel to have it pointed at chest hight? Also, when your shoulder is firmly pressed in your seat, stretch your arms and put them on top of your steering wheel. Your wrists should be on top of your steering wheel. Hope you'll be in AS soon so I have a chance racing you once 😄
Hey! Thanks for your comment! I have been playing around with my rig, I think I’m just too small 😂😂 I can never quite get it inline with my shoulders 😂😂
at some point if you’re looking for an upgrade on the PC, can recommend a 5700X3D. About £180 and drop in swap for your 3800X and perfect for sim racing
😂😂 I said the wrong Ryzen product, I meant the 5800x 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Hopefully that will be good for a couple more years! But thank you for the recommendation 🫶🏻
Hello, I noticed your T-LCM pedals in the background. Do you not favor them over the pedals that come with the T 598 wheel? Are the T-LCM pedals even compatible with the T 598 wheel? also, just curious have you ever driven on the Fanatec DD pro or Extreme wheel and pedals? Curious in your opinion how it would compare to the T GT 2 wheel and T-LCM pedals. Thanks Hun. Happiest of New Years to you!!!😊
Hey! Yes I do prefer the TLCM pedals, I’m going to switch them soon after I’ve finished testing. I’ve driven the DD Pro and the extreme versions, I would say that they both do better than the T598, better strength, consistency etc. But you are paying much more for that, so for the price, I’d save a few pennies and go with the T598. I haven’t tried your wheel, but as it’s a belt driven wheel, I would say in terms of accuracy, the DD should be better. It just how much better… Compared to my T300 RS GT, it was worth the upgrade for me.
When I saw the THRUSTMASTER logo on the base I had a feeling it was the new T598 and wanted to hear what you have to say about the bundle. I'd love to get one. I don't think the wheel and pedals would bother me. I'd be fine with them. The bundle is currently the best bang for your buck right now and it would be great to have a DD set up.
I got the Titan rig, I dot get why every one gushes over the prime, ten Titan rig took minutes to aseemble, and attaching all the wheel and chair was super simple.
I'm definitely no expert, but I don't think tearing is supposed to be a symptom of an aging monitor, and four years doesn't seem all that old. It's probably worth double-checking the freesync/G-Sync settings in your graphics driver and making sure that it's enabled in the monitor's settings.
I'm using a controller but would like to eventually get a steering wheel setup. I'm also still on a PS4, I was waiting for the PS5 Pro specifically before getting a PS5. Is the PC just for other sim racing games as well as recording/uploading? Or do you actually need it to connect the rig to the PS5 console?
@JustHunGaming Ok, thanks! I had always thought that you just plugged the rig into the console and that was it. Maybe at one time that was true. But probably due to newer hardwares and softwares updates are now required. I hadheard that after technology advances beyond a certain point, there won't be consoles anymore. You'll just have a TV or monitor you use your controllers/rigs with.
Depends on your budget… Lower budget/starter Logitech G29 is a good choice. Mid range The wheel in my video T598 is a good choice. Higher end, Fanatec is a good choice if using on a PlayStation. Moza is also a good choice but isn’t capable with PS 😔
@JustHunGaming thank you for your recomendations will check them out keep up the good work with your channel one of my favorite sim streamers out there
A PS5 Pro is not a waste of money people, I had a PS5 on release and now have a new PS5 Pro, on GT7 it’s the nutz. It runs so much smoother and I now don’t get graphics judder when there is more than 8 cars on the screen at once. The VR experience is vastly improved too. How can you say it’s a waste of money if you don’t own one ?
My Mother in Law is a waste of money , why I never put cash in her Christmas or Birtday card , only these lines “ Why do you hate me ? I never stole your undies on the line , ask your neighbour ffs
The price of a PS5 Pro is a lot to ask for for someone already with a regular PS5. Of course, it's all down to personal opinion, but the gains are small when you compare it to, say the jump from PS4 to PS5.
@@MepsiPaxBerriall depends on how good your TV is too, if you haven’t got an OLED and at least 120hz the difference is small, but when I got my ps5 Pro I also upgraded my TV and the difference is major coming from 60fps and a dull led screen.
