    I use a single repeat pattern of : make first stitch as dc 1, then (dc1, ch1) to end of row, end with a dc1
    next row and every row after do the dcs in the ch space hole of previous row.
    This way I don’t need to worry about finding the stitch!
    Much easier and can easily work by feel.
    I taught this to my ladies at the nursing home as they have trouble seeing stitches.

      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +3

      Hi Jaydaydesign! I like the pattern you described. Can definitely see how that would make it easier to see the stitches. I worry that people making baby blankets don't like making baby blankets with holes in them. Which is why I made my blanket more of a solid pattern. But I see the beauty and convenience of your pattern! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊🧡🧶

    • @Jaydaydesign
      @Jaydaydesign 2 года назад

      I have used UK terms for US terms substitute Single crochet (SC).
      You will find that you can use a smaller hook than when using a stitch that requires finding the top ‘v’ of stitches
      As long as the tension is not too loose this creates a nice firm fabric for babies.

    • @Jaydaydesign
      @Jaydaydesign 2 года назад

      @SunsetKhaliyah as wide as you want to make the blanket . The pattern is a multiple of 2 stitches + 1 for the end dc so the row must have an odd number of stitches.

    Your explanation gave me the courage to use yarn I had for 11 years to make the most beautiful toddler blanket. By using a larger hook, counting my stitches and putting my fingers in the loops I was able to easily make it. Thank you, my 3 year old neighbour is thrilled with her new blanket! Chrissy/Canada

    instead of finish the 20?

      Awe! Great question! We skipped 2 chains because they were our turning chains. We then work in the last 18 stitches left. 😊

      Patricia….Please see my comment about pairing a regular yarn with the Pipsqueak. I was new to crochet, also, and I found the fuzzy yarn impossible to use on its own.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +2

      Hi Patricia! The pattern for this project is super easy, it's really the Pipsqueak yarn that makes it more challenging. You could try using a non-textured yarn like I mention or utilize my tips that I go over throughout the video. OR you could try Stealth 2223's strategy and work 2 string of yarn at a time (one being the pipsqueak yarn and one being a non-textured yarn) that way your stitches are a lot easier to see. I did make a tutorial showing how I worked with 2 yarns to make something if you would like to watch for a reference: ruclips.net/video/qXs-Xn_p-Z8/видео.html

      Hi Ann! Great question. Yes! You can absolutely substitute out any size 5 weight yarn for the textured Pipsqueak yarn and be just fine.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +1

      Hi Viki! Hmmm, if this is a problem you run into a lot I recommend you try using stitch markers in the first and last stitch space to make sure you make it to that last stitch and stop. Also, I recommend counting the number of stitches are in the first 4 rows to make sure you get a feel for the pattern and then every now and then count the number of stitches are in a row to make sure you are staying on track. Hope this helps you!!

      @@CrochetWithTiffany Thanks for responding so quickly. Yes! I understand what your saying. I did have the issue of not counting the stitches! 🙄I hate it. But I do use stitch markers and now I count the stitches. I was wondering if it’s the way I’m holding the project whiling continuing to work on it. Maybe I’m pulling it to one side when turning such a large project? Or, perhaps “blocking”. Which I have no idea what that means! 😁
