- Hii! In today's video, I worked on sewing stuffed animals. I sewed my own custom plush from scratch by attempting to make my own sewing pattern / template.

ABOUT ME:
Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. For the eyes and nose, it’s a lot easier if you snap them in place before you stuff and then stuff it afterwards. Love your videos!!

Literally do what *you* want...honestly this channel is YOURS dont let anyone let u think otherwise...
Chopsticks or pencils are a necessity when working with flipping or stuffing small parts on a plush.
I think it's absolutely adorable!! But my only tip would be pay attention to fur direction.. his body and tail the fur is going backwards and makes it look a little bit off lol but still incredibly adorable!

It's such a fun fabric! I found it in Joanns ans immediately had to buy it. It's like my dream paint pour results lol 😆
I love this plushie. I've never made a plushie pattern from scratch but I've made monster high doll lolita dresses. Plus I'm much more confident with my clothes sewing skills than my plushie sewing skills.

whiskers would definitely help it look more like a cat imo. You could either use more string (like a webkinz) or those thin plastic whisker things plushies sometimes use.

Okay, so here's another tip. Pay attention to the nap and stretch of the fur. Knowing where and how your fabric stretches will help you plan the direction of your pieces. Which will allow you to get fuller, rounder shapes :)
I'm self taught with sewing. Sewing machines hate me so I stick to hand sewing. I love making my own patterns for my plush toys I feel like its more creative and fun. I mean you often get mistakes when making your own pattern its normal but at the same time its good because you then end up with something so unique that only you could make it again.

That looks great! I just have one tip. When you are sewing, make sure the fur is facing backwards. It makes it more realistic

I've never heard the term inside outing before call but I really like it. I think you and your mom are clever ladies. I'm going to steal that phrase. You are so super talented to be making your own pattern and sewing. This video was amazing because I can't imagine doing this myself, and I'm an old geezer who has done a lot of crafts!

Myself and my six-year-old enjoyed this immensely, and I kept saying you should use a pointy stick thingy to invert some of those pieces. And green you grabbed a pencil perfect
Aww he's cute. This was fun, I like the sewing videos.
One thing that helps me when drawing plushies is exaggeration, particularly on small body parts like feet. Once they're stitched and turned they're only going to get smaller, so over-doing them in the pattern helps them be a better size on the final creation.

When I make a plush I tend to use plastic eyes and noses, but a lot of times I use felt to create eyes. It's easier to do it when it's not stuffed, but you really have to mark the eyes because otherwise they can end up uneven. I also have that exact same pack of noses and eyes lol and yes it's very hard to use them.

I think you did a great job! Tip: use a can of compressed air like the kind used on electronics and computers to get all that lint and dust out from inside of your sewing machine! Better tip: Keep your eyes closed while you're doing it.
Imma be real for a second. I’ve been in a slump lately and can’t bring myself to continue a sewing project I started nearly 5 months ago. Just like this video, I was trying to make my own pattern and had a very specific “mathematical” way of going about it. I don’t know what it is. Seeing this video and seeing how you did it so straightforward made me feel like I wanted to be you, even for a moment if it meant that I could get my project going again. I start my semester next week and feel as though I’m going to have to ignore my creative side for another 4 months (same reason why no progress was made for the first 5). Kinda feel like giving up on being creative all together
Where is the whiskers is it a type of cat that doesn’t have??
That is so adorable you did a great job. And your term of inside out is correct you do flip the pattern inside out because you have to put the two right sides together sew and flip it right side out and the two right sides should be out so you can stuff it.

Just a small, pretty insignificant suggestion but if you're into details, you might like this. Next time you are sewing an animal using that type of fabric, you can cut the pattern in a way that the "fur" flows down towards the tail instead of up towards the head, which is how it grows naturally on animals.

Love watching the sewing videos. Please use a brush to clean the lint from your bobbin case. Minky fabric is horrible for lint. (You can buy sewing machine brushes, but a cheap paint brush is just as effective.)

I would have attempted to make the tip of the tail the "paint Pour" Fabric.
I’ve always said “right side in” when taking something from inside out back to where it originally was. 😂
