    You don't have to apologize for the video being that long. I found it one of the most useful for myself in this category. It's great that you repeat a lot of tricks several times here. Perfection hides in repetition. Thank you!

    You, man, are so amazing! First, you made such a useful tutorial. Second, you actually went through the trouble of keeping it all in one video. Third, you've been talking for an hour straight explaining stuff in such details and that too without a stop. Hats off to your efforts, man. I'm so glad I actually found your channel. I don't usually comment, but this time I just had to. Hope you get my appreciation.

    This is seriously so badass. I'm going to school for VFX and motion graphics now at the Art Institute and we haven't even covered any real motion graphics content yet, but watching this has given me a little more hope that some day I'll be able to actually do some of the things the professionals do out there. I think it just takes a lot of practice and constantly learning new techniques, as that has to be half the battle lol. Thanks for this awesome tutorial!

    I know this video was made a year ago, but I just wanted to say I do appreciate the part of the video where you go over the illustrator background work! Though I do know how to work illustrator, it's nice to see how the workflow is from beginning to end and how the shapes in illustrator are used in after effects! Great tutorials! I've found much inspiration from your tutorials!

    Illustrator part is very helpful. Please keep entire process in video so that we know whats happening. Like Making characters in Illustrator in some way to animate them in some way in after effects is still a mystery to me as there are few tutorials explaining the connection. Puppet tool of AE isnt really that great due to distortion and precision with starch tool. Some tutorials on that would be helpful, though I think you have some videos on that, Ill check them out after these ones. Thanks a ton!

    • @AlSamZar

      ***** well, I think programming is still harder coz it rely mostly in smart thinking and continuous practice, but Design rely mostly in being skilled and creative

    • @ECAPS.
      @ECAPS. 7 лет назад +9

      I have dabbled in both coding (HTML, CSS, JS, web stuff) and design (AI, AE, PS) leaning more towards design. I'm still a beginner for my skill level but honestly, I think both are equally as difficult :)

    • @Madelope
      @Madelope 7 лет назад +2

      A huge portion of After effects uses coding, took me about 6-8 years to become extremely comfortable with it. As a designer, I find it is always good to have at least some coding skills anyways (I find this is a lost art with a lot of designers). But I know many designers who program, and their work is close to top notch.

    I know this is a hard request, but can you make a tutorial about how you develop ideas before making motion graphics? Since I think that's the most difficult step in the process of making motion graphics.

    I've learned more about After Effects and Illustrator from this video alone than from an entire semester of motion graphics. There were a lot of points where you weren't sure if you were over or under explaining things but I found it all easy to follow and very informative. Keep these up, they're an awesome resource even for beginners like me.

    At 5:48 when you mention whether the Illustrator stuff is useful... I give that a resounding YES. Your tutorials have been extremely useful to me and have helped me grow not only as a motion graphics artist, but as a graphic designer (I have minimal experience with Illustrator, so your tutorials help a ton). Including your process in Illustrator has been a lifesaver. Thanks for all you do! Keep up the great work.

      u don't have to follow the process,
      just use pen tool to create a new shape layer,therefore it will have control points (yet these aren't appear),
      and first click shape layer(under "contents" layer),
      then click path layer to add an new keyframe,
      you'll find controls points shown on the screen.

    Nice video, but I miss the old intro music.. this is too much like the dubstep everyone else and their dog uses when making *awesome* tutorials. You are classier than this, sir.

    • @ModestMouser
      @ModestMouser 10 лет назад

      ***** I completely agree that the old tune is better. I was actually just thinking about how much I love the minimalism of your intro, without the lame overproduced explosions and blasting dubstep. And then I saw this video and I was like whaaaaaat?

    • @mariusfinnstun
      @mariusfinnstun 10 лет назад

      *****
      You sir are a gentleman and a scolar. I really loved the minimalism. You have your own style and its relatively unique in the overproducedness that is tutorials on youtube. You also listen to your audience, which means alot. Keep it up Mr. Mograph!

    • @benbf
      @benbf 10 лет назад

      ***** Maybe consider a new third option for the intro tune? The dubstep is a bit mainstream, but I found that the minor/major chord confusion in the old tune always threw me off.
      Excellent videos though!

    Best video for a Beginner + 1 learner. I was looking for a project that teaches start to finish so to learn both workflow, common techniques and tips and tricks. The pace is perfect so Thank you very much.

    Mate, you tutorials are awesome and amazing, you learn thousands of people things and so on, you are like the best teacher on earth, and all your fans and viewers are students, you make things so much easier and you absolutely rock. You absolutely deserve more subs with all these views and awesome tutorials, if I could donate, I would, and all your scripts are amazing. Before I found this channel, I watched alot of worse tutorials with worse motion and graphics, etc. But now that I've found your channel, you've helped me so much, in one week I made super cool animations and graphics!
