Lady Margot Fenring: Pain.
Feyd Rautha: [unzips]

Bruhh
Bravo
Now we understand why his test wasn't on screen.
After the test is completed he's like, "Ready to go again?" lol
Austin owned that role. Even only being in the last half of the film, he managed to steal the show.
like Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight! I didnt see Austin at all, only na-baron Feyd Rautha
He did an amazing job! Such a cool character
Would that role be deemed eligible for receiving an Oscar nomination?
@@dalovelee666 if not it should be.
If Bill Skargard played him it would be as amazing as Austin
The casting of Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha is a testament to Denis V's genius. The improvised scenes and the powerful way Austin Butler portrays Feyd-Rautha is a testament to Butler's genius. Well done. Bravo
Is that a bene gesserit sister handing over Rabban's necklace to the Baron at 1:39??
Kind of reminded me of Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker. Came out of left field with a really attractive young actor and wasn't something anyone would have predicted. Then you're like wow what a genius casting
@@emor6100 Butler's career is kind of on that same trajectory. Heath was always playing the romantic, pretty boy love interest like 10 thousand things I hate about you and A knight's Tale. Then he had his breakthrough with Brokeback Mountain. But no one took him seriously for playing the Joker at first. But he dived deep into method acting and well the rest is history.
@@costco_pizza yes
@@costco_pizza holy shit never noticed good catch. likely
There were times when his character had these looks of curiosity or awe, specifically when he meets Paul.
He was ruthless towards his own people, yet he seemed to have respect for the ones who fought him.
"You fought well, Atreides."
Agreed. It’s the classic dynamic of humiliation: no respect for those who are weak enough to be humiliated by me, coupled with a constant hope that someone will be strong enough to humiliate me in return… and then mad respect for this person
If you’ve watched house of dragons he’s like Aemond but a darker version of him cause both don’t respect anyone but as for Aemond he seems to respect Daemon & both seem to find joy in killing or fighting, the curiosity as well when Paul uses the voice u can tell he’s curious & I can liking that to Aemond seeing Daemon cut Vaemond’s head off
@@Erysx12 That was one of my favorite parts was, first, seeing him in awe when Paul walked inside and then secondly when he was almost excited when Paul used his Voice.
@@Erysx12 definitely thought there were parallels between him and daemon, such that he likely was inspired and took aspects from that character/actor
@@karelkieslich6772 just common sense
Austin played Feyd BRILLIANTY, so creepy, when he came on screen, it was the epitome of an evvil thug and when he opened his mouth to speaa....WOW, Austi's research is impeccable. Denis pick of Austin was a stroke of genius.
They do this in so many movies lately, a man or woman of thetryb, ehem, takes control of non-yt peeps to fight the evil yt peeps (in this case literally sknhds)... OK, how many times are we going to repeat this narrative?
@@BoopSnoot you are mentally unstable
@@BoopSnoot God, I even had to look up your dumb lingo. Get over yourself.
@@BoopSnoot what are you on about?

My favorite character. Instantly captivating. Wish we got way more
Would you believe me if I told you we get less in the books?
Stop sucking cock, this era of movies is god awful including the joker.
@@The_preserver_x16 I'm so glad the movie showed us a bit more of him
@@The_preserver_x16 that’s so crazy to think about
The decision to have Butler portray Feyd as unstable, but intelligent and honourable is way better than the conniving and cowardly version of the books and 1984. Feyd stands as a a true equal to Paul with true potential to rise like Paul, rather than a dishonest cheat who relies on poison.
He wasn’t a conniving coward in the book. He was every bit as cunning, intelligent, as he was here. He was planning to eliminate his uncle and was moving his people into positions of power within the harkonnen chain of command. To that end he willingly faced a gladiator who wasn’t drugged, fought him man to man even after surprise reveal the man was an atreides soldier trained by halleck and idaho. He instructed that the man be given an honorable burial after his death, that he be buried in tact and with his blade.
Feyd also deduced what his uncle’s plans for him, arrakis, and the throne were during their confrontation after the failed assasination attempt. The attempt only failed because thufir warned the baron about it.
The ‘84 portrayl by sting has no defence. That was just bad writing, and casting across the board.
Such a shame he won't be in the story anymore. Absolutely stunning performance from Austin Butler
Austin killed it man, he wasn't around majority of the film but where he showed up he ate every scene whole, well done Austin x
It has to be difficult to play a psychopath who is so controlled without coming across as silly or over the top. He did a good job with the tension in the character. He was creepy without being ridiculous.
👏
✔️✔️
Like Gurney Halleck said “It’s the slow blade that makes the kill”. Paul pulled the blade from his own gut and killed Feyd with it. Such a great fight sequence
That awkward moment when you realize Feyd could have saved millions of lives...
*Billions.
@@Tonius126 Reiner moment
He would have made things even worse. The Fremen would have killed everyone in the throneroom including Feyd, Shaddam and Irulan if Paul died. Without Paul the Fremen would have no one to keep them in check and the holy war would have been even worse.
At that point the Jihad would already happen anyway, even with Paul dying. For the fremen it would have been a martyr death. Quote: "His legions would rage out from Arrakis even without him. They needed only the legend he already had become. [...] if I die here, they'll say I sacrificed myself that my spirit might lead them."
True. But in the end, billions still lived, due to the actions of Paul and then Leto. Leto's peace ensured the survival of humanity. Without this, humanity was doomed.
This guy is a real actor! His portrayal was superb he gave chills😮
"You fought well Atreides".
Paul is also Harkonnen😂
@@_zenarith_ I'm well aware of Paul's origin. It was just a direct quote from the film.
@@_zenarith_ that’s the point of that line
I love this, Feyd Rautha was the best character in the movie. We needed more of him.
He is dead already. 😐
He’s dead genius
@@Anthony4949 Agree.
@@Anthony4949 no duh, the guy didn't say otherwise
The villain makes the movie. That's why Part 2 was so much better.
but was he really a villian 🤨
@@isyyc Not at all. I would go as far as to say Feyd is the hero of the movie. He was only trying to do what he thought was right. In the end, it was Paul and the Fremen who were the evil ones. We support Harkonnen.
@@costco_pizza crinj
@@costco_pizza yeah, someone feeding people to his pet humans is a real hero
@@isyyc He randomly slits the throats of people around him for amusement and pleasure, and has a group of cannibals around him, presumably because, once more, it gives him amusement and pleasure. And a rush of power. The people around him were constantly trembling in fear because he might randomly kill them next. And he was openly described as a sociopath and as psychotic by people who seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to such things. I'm not sure what else you could possibly need to determine him as a villain? "I am a villain" tattooed on his forehead?
If the reason you say this is because Paul might cause more death/destruction in the end, ok, but it's not really an either/or situation. They can _both_ be villains. If you can't determine that a sadistic sociopath with no regard for life is supposed to portray a villain, well, I'm not sure what you would consider a villain at that point.
i went to watch it more than once just to focus more on his character... Austin truly was incredible. This speaks volumes about his ability as an actor. I believe we are in the presence of a true movie star. He has the acting chops AND the work ethic. Can't wait for his upcoming projects.
Correct
I'll be honest, at first I thought it was Bill Skarsgård playing Feyd-Rautha. but now that I read all the comments, I'm completely mind blown. They are eerily similar.
I tip my hat to Austin for his acting.
Same
I also thought it was Bill. Stellan Skarsgård plays the Baron though
Thats incredible. I knew it was butler. But when I heard his accent I was so delighted to find he was pushing expectations. I predicted butler was going to steal the show but replicating skarsgård's accent was such a... almost Daniel Day Lewis stroke of brilliance. It was just not necessary but it felt like he really wanted to treat the audience to something special. I had a huge goofy grin on my face every time he was on screen because he really acted the shit out of this role and I'm so happy he did. I'm getting a second wave of delight in knowing he was so unrecognisable that people mistook him for a completely different actor. What a performance :D
I thought he exact same thing. Austin Butler is an insanely good actor. Blew me away
he totally nailed the role!!
I'm glad he got it, especially after I learned a few days ago that harry styles and the one who played cyclops partnered with sophie turner were like the ones front runner to play feyd.
Feyd woke something in me and I was instantly enthralled by him.😳 Best character so captivating!❤
Is it psycho?
Feyd is what I imagine the ideal Sith Lord is like
To go from Elvis to this is a testament to Butlers diversity
He's gona burn out as fast as Tom Hardy. Also dont forget he was in Once upon a time in Hollywood, before he had plastic surgery.
@@DocumentaryDetectiveIV Tom has been around for over 20 years. What fast burning do you speak of?
@@ludiqtitan "What fast burning do you speak of?"
What has Hardy done in the last 5 years? Between 2010 and 2015 he was in EVERYTHING. Then he made his TV show and.....nothing. Great talent, chewed up and spat out. Its sad because He is a great actor, one of my favourites. But it seems to be a common theme with actors now days, they suddenly rise, star in 2-3 major films then theyre gone. Unlike the old days where an actor would steadily work for 10 years before they got their big break then remain there for another 10 years. Its worse for actresses. Just look at Emily Blunt and Jodie Comer among others.
Hardy was referred to as "the modern Brando" in 2012.
@@DocumentaryDetectiveIV hopefully Hardy releases Taboo season 2 🙏
@@MisterMike101 Hmmm Nootka. It’ll never, it’s been like 7 years.
A well written villain portrayed admirably.
Austin Butler did well playing Feyd Rautha in this movie. I am soo impressed!! ❤❤
great character, great actor, great introduction scene and great edit
Awesome villain tribute! Austin was fantastic in this role
1:35 when I saw him do that facial expression & shouting “back” in the arena wanting no help in his fight I was like yeah he’s psychotic ❄️
It was quite jarring to see Butler in this right in the middle of the Masters of the Air run. Two very different characters, stories, and portrayals. He has some range.
Women: "I can fix him"
This is the supercut I needed.
I think I’ve seen him act since he was 17. Never a fan. THIS portrayal made me forget it was Austin Butler. He IS Feyd
this character is the definition of pure violence
love the mirroring from Feyds final move in the arena with Pauls move on him :D
From the moment Feyd appears on the screen I knew that he will be on my favorite villian list/❤❤❤❤
Man I really wish they didn’t kill him off and see more in part 3
It's based on a book...
Amazing. I wish he had more screen time and character development..
Bro really stole the movie from Paul imo. I was way more interested in the Harkonnen scenes because of Feyd😂😂
This is so true. Same.
Me too. Paul just failed to compel me. He's lacking charisma and determination. I feel boring watching him 'i dont want do this do that' for like 3/4 of the movie.😂
@@seagiven404 First time I see ppl saying this. Yeah, Feyd is a new menacing and interesting character, so for sure I was invested in him more first. But when Paul starts transitiong and taking action, that monologue scene and all after that, he completely stole the film. I hope Chalamet gets nominated. If it wasnt for his performance the film would've lost half it's impact in the second half. My guy literally performed two entirely different characters in the same film.
@@gabrielferreira8393 actually i saw lots of people feel the same way but they often dont say it out loud in fan space because fanboys will attack us like this 😂 like we dont allow to have different opinions. Timmy performance is so dull for me even after he took the water of life. I dont feel it really. His emotional display was a bit weak. I dont think timmy will get any award cuz even Rebecca has better performance than him. 🤷

THANK YOU for the great video as always, Ovik! My favourite character from DUNE was Feyd, alongside Paul. I'm SO GLAD we can finally watch edits of these characters on YT in high quality IN PEACE lmao I was dying these past 4 weeks! Went to see the movie 3 times specifically for this reason !
They should introduce him in first movie not second half before they kill him off
Butler made me love the movie more!!!! He shouldn’t have died! But that’s what’s written!
Is it okay to find him attractive ?
yes, I hearing so many people wanting to smash that lol.
You are a psyco like him lol
Yes and dont worry we have an army of Feyd worshippers everywhere on internet 😂
You send letters to serial killers in prison, don't you...
sociopaths tend to do that. Animalistic instinct that attracts preys
Mr Austin, Villeneuve, you did not do a good job, not a just great job, but an exceptionally brilliant job. This is cinema history, the people will remember in 100 or 200 years, at least if we'll make it as a civilisation, which I doubt.

Lea Seydoux as Margot Fenring was one of the key moments in part 2. Can’t wait to see more of her in “Messiah”
Unfortunately she won't be in Messiah as she wasn't in the book. While there is a small chance she'll be in the movie would be a pretty big change from the book.
@@purpledragons1146 Lea Seydoux herself said that she will be “in the 3rd one” in several interviews. I’m just going by what she said. Plus her husband was excluded in the movie therefore the likelihood of her being in “Messiah” isn’t so low.
Blacked out eyes and teeth are oddly attractive.

Feyd Rautha is a gladiator
The use of black and white was genius.

Ironic how with the fall of Feyd the video ends. Awesome performance by Austin Butler.
It's funny how it's really the psychopath who is easier to manipulate.
Great editing!!!!
Wow, best video I've seen about him, this was so well done! Bravo!
Thank you for my daily Feyd-Rautha fix
Austin Butler is terrifying in this role. He is so good/bad. Just incredible.
I can't wait when we have Alia or Leto II Atreides to see your edits, everything you touch you turn into golden.
Who do think will play Ghanima and Leto II?
@@milutinstankovic4638 i mean we wont see them in Villeneuves dune, iirc he only wants to do one more movie (messiah), children of dune will probably be in a whole different format if it is adapted (and either way the actors would not be forseeable now since they would need to be child actors at the time of filming, meaning they arent in the acting world yet probably)
@@milutinstankovic4638 If we ever have Children of Dune, I see Ghanima as Mackenzie Foy or even Ana de Armas, but I have a hard time imagining someone for Leto II, I feel that being such a complex character makes it difficult for me to see an actor and say: oh! this is perfect. Above all because I think it should give an aura of authority but at the same time a perhaps young face at the beginning, since I saw James Mcvoy it has been difficult for me not to see him as Leto II, although the series was not the best, I think he did an excellent job, so maybe someone who looks like him
I wonder how the story would've went if Feyd won the fight. Would his reign be just and honorable but aggressive and merciless? Rather than it be lead by a Talented and Empathetic young man who is driven to madness by his circumstances. Who would be better? The one going mad or the one that already is?
Haven't seen these films but came across this video, looks awesome. This was dope 🔥
Excellent edit !
Wow. Great job on this.
Brilliant. I needed more Feyd Rautha scenes in the film.
The guy he’s fighting in the arena was Austin’s trainer for his role, isn’t it him?
I was truly afraid of him when I watched the movie, like he is looking and acting like a real psycho.
Feyd stole the show, a psycho but an honourable one.
Nobody's perfect 🥰

@ovik6280 why is no one talking about your brilliant editing. Fantastic work! Looks like an official clip
In a way, I think Feyd was happy to die in Paul's hands. It was ultimately the honorable death he wanted, along with him being given some measure of peace. He's an utter maniac, but Feyd-Rautha strikes me as someone who, masochistic and psychotic personality aside, seems deeply unhappy with his life
Have a feeling that one of the reason why Paul can best Feyd (aside from all that prophecy stuffs) is that Feyd was being overly arrogant and not trying to finish Paul off asap (the classic and make-sense way to kill off a villain when you accidentally potrayed him ridiculously powerful)
