Paisley fabric is so retro, lovely. Ellie and mac pattern's have a new dress pattern called Mariza Garden Party dress. Would look great in that fabric.
Sponsored, shmonsored! I wouldn't turn down a lovely freebie either. I don't personally have a problem with sponsored content when it's genuinely liked by the receiver, which yours obviously is. It's beauty types who have a new ride or die every week and you never see the product again!! All of you guys with the Serious Readers quite obviously LOVE the product and it appears again and again so I'm all for it!!!
Loved the outfit you had on initially, great colour on you. Your granddaughter is adorable, they are full of wonderment at that age. Great fabric haul & love your shirt, so pretty. ❤
Layla looks just like you!! She is so cute!! :+) Her little outfit you made for her was adorable!! So glad you used the gorgeous lemon linen fabric!! Your skirt is beautiful!! We all have issues with instructions-I always feel like they are backwards-except for patterns from: "Itch to Stitch", hers are spot on!! :+)
Sweet little "helper!" Thanks for taking us along on the family outing! I love the skirt, and am planning to make one that style, as well. It's a great idea to have an underskirt/lining so no slip is required and no one can "see you walking," as a friend of mine used to say! Hugs! Peggy
Hi Rachel, what a glorious day with Layla…..I can tell how much you and Martin enjoy being grandparents. She’s a doll! Loved your shirt, and your pants (I remember you making those) and your skirt looks lovely. That bag is gorgeous; I would never turn that down either. And it looks very practical. I hope you had some nice relaxing time at the end of your day. ❤
You look terrific! I love the tiered skirt. Your grand daughter is adorable. It looks like you have a great day despite the weather. I am looking forward to seeing your next make.
Layla looks so much like you 😊. Love your skirt for sew fruity. It’s lovely. Glad you had an awesome time with Layla. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane ❤
Fabulous vlog, Rachel. Layla is an absolute delight and it was good to see Martin again, it's been a while. My little granddaughter, also Layla, was 21 a couple of weeks ago - really miss those toddler days. Your skirt is beautiful and I'm envious of your fabric haul.🥰
I love the outfit you wore on Saturday, it was just fabulous. Your skirt looks lovely too. Layla definitely has your eye colour! She’s such a gorgeous wee girl and seems like a character
Love the skirt Rach, Layla so looks like you 😊, your bag looks fab, just looked at TD way out of my price league for a bag but glad you got a freebie, at least it wasn't the bloody lights😂. X
Layla's such a little munchkin - so sweet! Love your skirt, and loved sharing your weekend - it just lifted my spirits a bit after some difficult days. Thank you. ❤
Your granddaughter is beautiful, love her hair colour and the outfit you made for her. Most people will understand why you are sponsored. Love your fabrics and your skirt looks great.
Your outfit to the aquarium is so cute. You looking great. The lemon skirt is also cute. I understand about the lining, I made a shirt dress from a beautiful linen which needed to be lined but became quite heavy. Oh well, it’s still nice and I wear as you will the lemon skirt. Are you a doctor or a nurse and you work at a prison, is it scary? That made me worry for you, sorry. Take care love
Love the skirt, (don’t be embarrassed, guess who dropped her camera lens cover into the Meercat enclosure at Whipsnade?!). I understand completely about having a sponsored vlog, if it means you can keep sharing your, tips, hints, sew alongs and your lovely family life I say go for it girl!! 🐾🐾
Of course take a sponsor. You look so fresh and glowing. Please share how your journey to health has been. I know you started running but is that all bc you do look amazing. I’m in love with the skirt. I think attaching the first tier to The underskirt gave it a nice drape.
Both of you have STUNNING eye color. Are ya’ll’s eye color blue? The lighting in the beginning of the vlog was making the color stand out and almost glow!
Thanks for the shout out. Sorry you didn't get the fabric. I also have that lycra you bought (made into a swimming costume and a tankini!) and the blue leopard one(which is going to be a Cloud dress)! Lololo. Love Fabricland fabrics! X
Ah Rachel, little Layla is an absolute poppet, what a treasure. I remember our conversation at SewToon where I told you she would be your delight….i was right. I go to Fabricland in Kingston upon Thames quite often when we are down staying with the kids. Next time I am there I will have a look to see if they have that fabric. I am actually making the new Pattern scout dress with a viscose from Fabricland which is very similar to your purple. By the way, my girls wore their Tilly dresses on holiday, it’s a lovely pattern and Layla rocks hers. ❤
Rachel, the maxi skirt and your self-drafted top look fabulous on you! It's such a great style for you as you are so wonderfully tall. I'm having height envy, lol.
As always, lovely vlog especially with your little princess 😇. I went to take a look at the bags in the sale but found that the link too me to a page for affiliates rather to the sale so it’s worth taking a look to see if that’s the correct link. Don’t want you to miss out on any recognition for directing traffic their way. I’ll come back again and check tomorrow. X
Lovely vlog, such a shame your fabric was sold out, did make me laugh, it was only £12 but you ended up paying over £60 without the febric you wanted 😂 still the other fabric is fab too. Loved the skirt, hope you add the drawstring waist to stop it dropping ❤
Hi Rachel, you look great , what’s your secret to weight loss? Also, my daughter is a RN and has asked me to make her some scrubs. What fabric would you recommend and have you made any yourself?
I would recommend a lighter weight cotton maybe a poplin because you’re so busy as a nurse you just need lightweight fabrics to avoid overheating avoid poly (which a lot of scrubs fabrics are) because you just get too sweaty when you’re on the go, I’ve made for others during the pandemic but never made my own

Yeah it’s weird how mine have gone bluer as I’ve got older when I was younger they were more gray

A couple of people have sent me a link to where else I can get it Katie so I’ve ordered it!

We can always justify our fabric purchases can’t we?
Great outfit!!!
Lovely skirt and top
How gorgeous is Layla ❤. Question on Mave is the lining just the top skirt piece or is it all 3 ruffles so a skirt under a skirt?
It’s supposed to be a full skirt underneath with 3 tiers over the top but I misread the instructions
@@StitchedUp I dug out my pattern and can see now, so many different cut lines baffled my ageing brain
Layla is SOOOO like her mummy!!! Your mesh dress would be stunning over a black slip too, 2 looks from 1 dress... Bargain!!!
😊👋

@@StitchedUp Thanks Rachel, we’re in Queensland Australia so it does get very hot but the hospital is always cold 🥶
Sorry, but how I use the link. Is asking for a login in password?
