Mark sings the song he wrote better than anyone, bar none. It comes from deep within his soul.
Thank God MS hasn’t robbed Mark his voice just his legs (that’s why he is sitting). It’s his song and he sings it beautifully. Loved your face when he held that note that long.
Mark Lowry filled in with the Stamps Quartet in 1975 singing back up with Elvis.. He is not only a very good vocalist, but also a very funny guy when he does his comedy routine..
Michael.... from me to you heres a hug. Now on to the song. Mark Lowry cowrote this song. Theres always something wonderful when you hear him sing the words he wrote. Buddy Greene wrote the music. This is also one of my favourite songs.
100% agree with you. Voctave is just pure gold. Of course, nobody sings it with the passion that Mark does. It's funny, but I never really thought about this song being a Christmas song, but I guess it is. We sing it all the time at my church. I love it. It speaks to my heart...More Voctave, please...thanks.
Mark Lowry is one of my favorite singers and comedians. He is the reason I started listening to Southern Gospel Music.
As a high soprano... wow, I'm so envious. Her tone is so pure... and the vibrato at the end. Ah-maz-ing!
I saw Mark Lowrey sing this live in Charlotte NC when he was part of the Gaither Vocal Band. He, Guy Penrod. And David Phelps did the song and when they hit that note, the rafters shook and Dust came floating down. It was that powerful. Anytime you put voices like theirs together you have something special. Voctave also is something special! I think it's Amazing that they thought the song important enough to include Mark in the recording and the video!! Outstanding! Loved your reaction as well! Keep up the good stuff you are doing.
Look at the longing on his face when he sings the lines "the deaf will hear" and "the lame will leap". He has gone partially deaf in one ear, and between MS and having to have a leg rebuilt after a crush injury has limited ability to walk. He never used to sit during a performance.
Mark can hold a note longer than anyone I've ever heard; you'd never know he was sick. To me, Voctave is the "powerhouse" of A Capella groups when it comes to filling a room with sound. Thanks for another great reaction, and for venturing out into new groups and artists.
Gosh Syd, your speech brought tears to my eyes and heart.. i would love to hear your story you will do.. Mark Lowry Is a Christian Comedian.. look up his "Last Word" Comedy.. "Mama always had to had the last word.. Mark was a ADHD Child.. and couldnt help himself.. he tells his life story in comedian form.. he also sings with the Bill Gaither Vocal band.. but he does his own versions of Christian songs like Weird Al Yankovik..lol he is very cute..

For the last few hours I've been watching the reactions to Mark and this group sing and I tear up every single time.

Can you imagine a duet between Kate Lott (high soprano) and Tim Faust (the bass from Home Free)?
