    Nice video. I've had the bullseye strip for about a year now. I think it's a perfect balance of forgiveness on the joints, yet still punishes you on distance when you hit it fat. Only minor issue I have with it is that ugly green colour... lol

    Is there a reason that you got away from using the same material for the hitting strip and a stance mat? In your other video you mentioned that it was preferred to stand and hit off the same material when you were talking about the ez tee and how that could also save wear on the more expensive putting turf. Just curious as I was looking at ordering the ez tee and some have suggested just getting the foam tiles and cutting in a hitting strip.

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Год назад +1

      Great question! So, like any decision, there’s gonna be pros and cons. I chose a hitting strip because I wanted a firmer stance area. The EZT hybrid is a little spongy under foot. By cutting a hitting strip into my putting turf sitting on top of the foam tiles, I have a much firmer area on which to stand. The downside of this, is that my hitting strip, and my standing surface are not level. By using a hitting mat, you ensure that your feet and the ball are on the same level. So it’s a very personal choice, I know I went back-and-forth for a couple months before I made a decision. obviously I ended up using just a hitting strip, and at some point in the future, I may take steps to try to make it more level, but for right now it is not. Thanks for reaching out!

    I'm looking to install this, or the ez tee hybrid, outside. I am planning to recess it into my sod with a sand base. Do you think that would be a problem with the foam? I know the EZ tee is commonly used for outdoor tee lines.

    What size is the hitting strip in the video? I am in the process of ordering my enclosure package from Rick, and I think I want to go a little bigger than the 12 X 30 that is included. Also, do you have any experience or thoughts on the turf that he includes in his packages?

      I have a 1x4 hitting strip. I don’t have any experience with money putt but I have heard a lot of positive comments about the product, so I think it’s probably a safe bet. Rick has a keen eye for quality so I trust whatever products he sells because he is passionate about it. Thanks for the question!!!

    awesome video! thank you! you convinced me to getting this hitting strip instead of a 5x5 hitting mat. in fact i'll probably pick up two and have two set ups and still be ahead. I want to get a 1x4 hitting strip but on their site they sell a 1x46.5". Did you get a custom made strip? I hate it when mats are shorted a couple inches and aren't true to advertised size. I also agree, i would prefer to have a firmer stance area than a hitting mat. I'm gonna give this set up a try and I'll let you know how it works out. Do you by chance have a promo or discount code for the bullseye?

      I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Bullseye did provide me a custom length for the review I did. It was spot on length wise. As far as discounts, Rick prices his products as low as he can and doesn’t offer discount codes, so unfortunately o don’t have one to pass on. I think you’ll be really happy with it. It has far exceeded my expectations!!

    Im all about easing up on the joint pain, but which one is closer to real turf, I currently have the EZ-Tee hybrid which I love and it replaced the Fiberbuilt which was very easy on the joints, but, in my opinion, was not realistic. I had people hit a driver straight up in the air because it gave too much.

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Год назад +2

      I tried to make this point during the video, but it may not have been very clear, I think both of these products are very equivalent in terms of turf interaction. They both feel really good. I wouldn’t necessarily say one has the edge or the other. I think the major separation between the two is that the bull’s-eye product is just easier on the body. Hey! Great videos.
    So I just went to the bullseye website and it looks like they have a new version of their hitting strip. Have you had a chance to try it out yet? I'm torn between this and the sigpro softy. Hoping to get something that is easy on the joints, but fairs well enough for realism.
    It also looks like they are now selling a full 59"x59" mat, that I believe is the same thing as the new hitting strip -- but instead of a strip its the entire mat. Which I like.

    Thanks for the detailed video. I was highly considering the EZ tee hybrid until I saw this. How does the Bullseye strip compare to the Monster Mat you recently reviewed? That's what I'm currently using and feel like it's just too firm to be realistic and have been wanting to use it as a standing mat and drop a strip inside if it. Does the ugly bullseye color match it pretty well?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Год назад

      The color is pretty darn similar. The feel and performance of the Bullseye is better for sure. I found the Monster to not punish fat shots enough. The Bullseye is better but maybe not quite as punishing as the EZ Tee. My biggest complaint with the Monster is the mess and thankfully the Bullseye doesn’t have any of that. My history of joint pain, and a lot of fat shots made me look around for hitting strip though as a precaution and glad I did. This is a really good product. Sorry for boarderline spamming you, but RUclips keeps suggesting new videos and your testing almost everything I’m looking at, haha! 2 questions: 1. Can you rank EZ Tee, Bullseye, and Monster Mat in order? 2. You mention Bullseye is very unique, am I correct is looks similar to Monster Mat? With shorter turf, more rigid backing, and the foam does the impact support vs the taller fluffier pile of the turf?

    • @TheGolfNerd

      I like Bullseye, Ez Tee and then monster. Those would be the order for me. The Bullseye is similar to monster mat but with no mess. It is very supportive when striking. Hopefully this helps! @@TheGolfNerd Thank you for checking in. Sorry I didn’t see this video first. one more follow up, I’ll stop… I swear 😂 Im not doing a hitting strip and wiping the residue off the club doesn’t bother me. From a performance standpoint, does the Monster hold up to the Bullseye in terms of performance? Or is the Bullseye noticeably better for strikes, joints, etc? Ignoring the residue issue, does the Monster Mat leave you anything to be desired? Lots of the Monster Mat reviews feel like they are “sponsored” or press releases, so I’m leery that mat is overhyped. Context for my question, I’m doing a non permanent SIM in the garage with Spornia SP7 + Garmin. Needs to fold away between uses for parking. I know the hitting strip concept is beloved, but I’d like to start with a mat for convenience purposes

The collapsing comments on RUclips don’t work perfectly… it’s in been a few weeks since my initial question. Ordered the Monster Mat because it was the least expensive and has the most generous return policy. Love hitting off it! I also don’t anticipate it to get depressions like lots of the tee line mats do over time because the top turf is short? For the first 2 weeks, no mess or residue. Then, I started getting the club residue and the flakes after shots. I suppose all “value” products have a trade off… not sure if it’s a deal breaker for me or not

    i have the same setup as you as far as turf and hitting strip. The easy tee strip is already higher than the sim turf around it. You said the Bullseye strip is even thicker. Wouldn't that make it a little too high and cause some issues on the course? I've only had the set up for a little over a month and the easy tee strip is already getting green stuff on my clubs which I heard you say is when it's time to replace. If it's time to replace this soon, I will definitely have to find a different brand of hitting strip.

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Год назад

      That’s really strange. I’ve used my EZ T hybrid for quite a while and never had any issues like that. Where did you buy it from? As far as height, I’m actually considering the idea of raising my putting turf by putting an additional layer of foam pads down. However, I really believe that as golfers we have to be able to play uneven lies just because we always see it on the golf course. This might end up improving a skill that you get to take to the course this year! I guess we will both see! Thanks for reaching out and for the question!
