i have used this method on all my socks which is over 200 hundred which is all thanks to you i knit my own socks every day even with the shaking hands due to my illness i am almost 74 years young, love your tutorials love to you and your family from Mr Kenneth Wilson ( SCOTLAND )
Thank you Denise, this is going to make tightening cast on row for round projects so much easier. I can do straight ones fine but struggle with round ones.
Thank you love this technique. So I I I love it...much neater for scarves. I like doing this at beginning instead of pulling at the end of the project. Too many chances to mess up a lot of work😃
Denise, You are simply .... AMAZING! You are so loved, don't forget that. Your tips and techniques are just stellar. Thank You for sticking out your pattern and video creating.
Thank you so so much. i could never get the reg way right. Always got messed up. This other way NO problems at all. I used a 31 peg and was amazed how much extra yarn there was. This was much simpler.😊
Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! You are fabulous at showing us new and better ways for looming. BTW, I listened to your interview on Cindwood Looms. I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue. Made my day. Again thank you soooooo much for everything you do for the looming community.
You are the only one that's addressed this, THANK YOU! I just bought my first loom and didn't know what to do with the loose loop. I was about to throw in the towel and send it back but now I have to try this! Will it happen on every row❓❓❓
Oh my lord, I just got my loom set on Sunday, 11/24/24 and was just testing out the EWRAP on the 36 peg and was having this issue where when I pull the bottom loop over the peg and have all this yarn when I lift over the peg, glade Denise had a solution to fix it 😊😊😊😊. I will try again later after work.
I decided to make some arm warmers, but couldn't figure out how to make one end with tighter loops. Until now. So thank you from the bottom of my heart
I tried this with a straight 36-peg loom, and this technique still works well! Just pull your loops over, starting on the opposite side of the loom from the starter knot! I'm still working out how to keep the next row from being so loose, as well, but I'm hitting a wall... Any suggestions would be helpful!
Thank you. I've been so frustrated getting started because of how loose these are. I can't wait to try it, and now I know this is normal. I'll let you know how it works.
Well I haven’t tried this yet but I will because I have a great deal of trouble tightening an already knitted project and have actually ruined some . Thanks so much Denise. I will let you know how this works for me ❤
You are very innovative, Denise, and your solutions always seem to be simple to follow for a perennial newby like me. Just hope I can remember to do this when I start a new project.
You are so clever to work out this problem. I'm definitely going to use it the next time I loom knit. I also loved your cute pin cushions. Thank you, Thank you, so much for showing this video.
Thank you Denise I made a hat and tried to correct the bottom and messed it up so I have re make another hat over so this will be helpful for me. Love your videos.
I used this when I used 2 yarns to get extra thickness. I thought I’d never get all the strands tight at the end so I did this at the start. Worked out great.
Hey Denise - great tip! I've struggled with tightening loose loops. My current method is to tighten the loose loops while the work is still on the loom, after I've knitted a few rounds, but to do it in the way that you've demonstrated before. Keeping the work on the loom helps me to keep track of where the stitches are better than if I try to tighten once the work has been taken off the loom. Hope that makes sense! Thanks again for your wonderful videos :-)
Wonderful!! Just worked it this way which was great! I think for small projects this way is great especially for loomers wgi are new or want to try this before say a blanket. I do like the original method for that larger project like a blanket💞🧶 Please show a video for tightening a chain cast on which can be quite loose upon FO. Thanks BUNCHES Denise!! Keep them coming my friend!😍
I have watched this video more time than I can count and tried to do it myself over and over. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it doesn't work for me. Everything goes good and looks like your video until I get to the point where I'm supposed to be able to pull all the extra yarn by releasing the anchor peg. I release it but no matter how hard I pull or even which thread I pull it doesn't budge and I'm just left with a big loop of extra yarn that I can't do anything with. Do you have any suggestions about what I could be doing wrong? The only thing I do different is I knit counterclockwise instead of clockwise. Could this be the issue? I'm new to loom knitting and you and your videos have been priceless to me! This one will be too once I figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
I figured it out. It did have to do with the direction of knitting. I watched the pin Cushion video where you also demonstrate the technique and realized that you end on the first peg instead of starting with it and when I did that it worked. It's a great technique now that I know how to do it correctly!
I'm about to give up loom knitting because all my projects are ruined by a loose cast-on. I've tried all the cast-on methods and I still have that problem. Can I use this cast on and then knit stockinnette?
Hi Loomahat- quick question on this tip-if I were knitting a hat with the ewrap cast on and used this to tighten the cast on how do I continue knitting if the working yarn is below the yarn on the peg ? (I noticed this in the video ) because I will be knitting a p1 K1 for 8 rows for the hat - thanks in advance 😊
Thank YOU Sheyla ! I love it when you guys tell me where you're from - it's sooOOOOooo so amazing and super cool to know people from around the world are watching and enjoying my work !!! 😘
Do you have a way for us to shorten up that Stitch the connects the first Stitch and the last Stitch on each row, that goes up the back of a hat? There always seems to be a loose Stitch there.
Can this technique be used for ribbed brims? I'm not sure how to make it work with purl stitches, and I haven't had any success with tightening the cast-on after the project is finished. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Nice vedio👌 I have been watching for years and I made an ice cap and a bunny and the flat pencil case . Plz next video be about how to make round pencil case or waist bag I really need them. Now there is Corona virus so I only use waist bag to take my sanitizer and phone.🙏
I'm a newbie. My first scarf was on a flat loom in a figure 8 pattern. It didn't start with an e-wrap, but went directly into the pattern. What can I do?
Hi Phoenix do you mean if you have loose loops ? I’m going to assume your cast on was the figure 8 which won’t let you tighten the cast on so … all I can recommend is to crochet the border. ruclips.net/video/JXyz2gfdgvw/видео.html
Awesome! I have not done an e-wrap cast on; I keep doing the U-wrap cast on you taught on the burgundy hat with the faux fur pom... and it wasn't going well trying to tighten it so I left it. It is livable and looks OK as long as I make the cast on just tight enough I can barely knit the loops off the pegs (but again that's the U-Wrap cast on). But my eyes are peeled, here, big time! Thanks for the wonderful resources.
Hi I'm a beginner. I have a question and I'd appreciate an answer from anyone please. Do I do this only for the first round? Because I tried to do it again on the second round but it didn't work
i’m not sure why it won’t for me? i’ve tried multiple times but the long end i pull just doesn’t connect back to the “beginning” and i’m left with a long stitch :/
She goes to the right. She does counterclockwise for the first row and clockwise to tighten the loops and returns to counterclockwise after she loosens the slipknot.

@@LoomaHat hi how does this work on a rectangular loom with figure of 8?

Kenneth - your comment has made me so happy. Thank you for taking the time. Feedback is always precious and really appreciated.
Another Fabulous Hint. You’ve taught us all the proper ways to loom knitting. I’m so grateful for your kindness🧶🌈💝🥰💞💋

What a great tip. I would never have thought of that. I never liked the way the cast on stitches looked at the end of a project. Thank you.
You are so welcome! 💛

This method is easier for me to comprehend than the "proper" method, so *thank you very much!*
I’ve used this technique several times and it’s very helpful. It’s surprising how much slack you end up with and can remove. Thank you for the lesson!
Love this way of tightening the loops! Thank you

SoOOOOoooooo Glad it helped! 😁💛🌼
You are very innovative, Denise, and your solutions always seem to be simple to follow for a perennial newby like me. Just hope I can remember to do this when I start a new project.
After some frustration I was going to use scrap yarn for my first 3 to 5 rows and then cut it out of the project. I will use this instead. Thank you.

Agreed!
This is fantastic ! can't wait to try it. I always had a hard time cleaning up my loose loops so I absolutely love this ! Thank you so much
You are so welcome PJ! 🙂
Brilliant. Thank you. I've been doing this whilst watching the video and it's amazing just how much yarn comes through!
Denise you are a genius. Why did we not think about this years ago. I will share.
You just made my Day thank you very much ❤
OMGosh Denise! You are so smart! You're tightening the enraptured on the pegs!
Thank you so much for explaining this process! It works!
Glad it helped! 💛
Thank you so much Denise. You're my main knitting loom go to lady 🙂
Thank you for this! I haven't had luck tightening it up afterward, so I'm doing this with my next hat. 🤞
Thank you that is an excellent way to tighten the cast on row. I found it difficult to tighten my row after the project was completed.
I'm currently making fingerless mittens and used this best fighting ever. Love it
So simple and genius at the same time! Thankyou!
You're very welcome! 😊
Thank you for solving this problem for me
I do this. But after going around once I go around a second time. So the extra slack would become working yarn.

What a genius idea!! Thank you!
This is going to be perfect for hats with a brim like that!
Exactly what I was thinking 🙂
Fantastic idea thank you 😊

Do you have a way for us to shorten up that Stitch the connects the first Stitch and the last Stitch on each row, that goes up the back of a hat? There always seems to be a loose Stitch there.

Can you do this for a flat panel?
Yes I was wondering that too as I have tried this method on a patch for a blanket but couldn't get it to tighten.
How about getting a rug to stay together. I cord spoil loom

What happens if you don't have a anchor peg
Here's a video to answer that ruclips.net/video/C5ovnAPAMCk/видео.html
What do you do if your loom doesn't have a Anchor pegs
USe the base of the loom. Here is a video ruclips.net/video/C5ovnAPAMCk/видео.html
I'm new to this. I tried it and when I tried pulling at the end I couldn't do it.
Hi Angelique ! You have to make sure you start on the correct end. If you start with the wrong loop it won’t work.
After you loosen your slip knot do you begin wrapping to the right or left?
She goes to the right. She does counterclockwise for the first row and clockwise to tighten the loops and returns to counterclockwise after she loosens the slipknot.
@@debra2700 Thank you for the reply;)
Will this work on an Afghan loom?
