Hey Tom, if I’m getting like 60-80 cents per conversion running fb ads myself… should I try using toneden instead? (From what I understand they set up the ads for you)
Interesting that you are going straight to artist page rather than the just the song. I presume the new song is always at the top of the list so any click to your artist page will be a follow, play or both. Will split test it asap!
@@seanrogers0 I ran campaigns for both artist page and just a song both worked well.I'm releasing as fast as possible at the moment so just doing song campaigns. Also have switched from Toneden to Submit hub links, way faster loading time and better analytics.
Hey Tom! Why would someone use ToneDen over creating a landing page on ones' own website? I notice that a lot of music advertisers use ToneDen but I'm a bit confused as to why you would need this service at all. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Great question I asked the same thing. If you can find the libraries required to do this I think its a great idea because you are also building traffic on your site. You would have to integrate facebook pixel into your site and specifically track the page load of the landing page as well as the spotify button. Bandzoogle puts the facebook pixel on your site and has tracking for ecommerce but they don't support the idea of tracking a Spotify button click from the landing pages they offer. Please go over there and ask them to add it. I've tried to get them to add it.
@@tomdupreeiii ty very much my mentor :) I opted for the same approach, i suppose we only use tones den for click tracking. Possible retargeting but thats in the future
I can see how sending to the profile would be good for an ongoing campaign, but would you do this for a new release campaign too? Makes me think it might split your traffic as a new release isn't always that obvious on your profile and people might listen to a different song at the point when you really want to maximise traffic to one particular song to trip the algorithm. So would you do it this way for a new release?
If you wanted to focus on building followers you'd definitely go with the profile, more than focusing on just the direct new release on it's own. As anyone who is interested enough to actually click thru will still be able to see the new song upon getting to the profile page, but you also have the optimum chance of capturing their attention for your other music & gaining new followers straight up.
@@melsmith6637 i just posted this and asked Tom about it... what are your thoughts? ... if you send them the url to your artist profile, if they do not have Spotify premium, on movile they cannot play the song itself... it will give you a shuffled playlist. But it appears with the actual song url, it does allow the song to be played if its your first time accessibg the url. After a couple times, it goes back to shuffled playlist. Correct me if I am wrong, but I've been testing out a bit and appears that is what's happening on my end.
@@mikeo2208 I'm not really sure about that, but sounds about right, as I find spotify to be a pain in the arse to do anything with, unless you are premium! I actually don't use it at all anymore, I have no landing pages around it & deleted off my phone! Maybe Neil Young also has the same idea.. 😀
I thought long & hard about this, because yes I would like them to hit that follow button, however if you send them the url to your artist profile, if they do not have Spotify premium, on movile they cannot play the song itself... it will give you a shuffled playlist. When I set up my pixel the way you showed. It only shows page views when I test it in events manager. It won’t track click throughs. Is there something I’m missing?
I got 700 conversions on Facebook but Spotify shows only 2 streams. That's horrible. What's wrong here? It's not a stats delay. Spotify is not tracking my streams.
same thing has happened to me..i think it may be because you are targetting India. in India not many users have Spotify they just click on play button and when it asks them to sign in they just come out of it.. so it shows up as a conversion but no streams
Hi Tom, great video :-) Why are u selecting only Spotify and replacing it with ur spotify profile page. Why not the others? Do u have a video where you show how to set up a Landing Page with all the features at 3:32?
Hey thanks for watching. Statistically, adding more than one option on a landing page will reduce conversions dramatically. I send traffic to my profile to get followers as well as streams.
when you create your subdomain do you have to have something hosted in a server or just point to that URL that i'll be replaced by the toneden page that you created?
If your goal is only to grow followers, would this strategy work better than advertising your profile itself in the ad and landing page ? Are people more curious when the Ad is about a song than when it's about an artist ?
Unless it's an artist that I already know, I would probably be influenced more by hearing an ad with part of a song that attracts my attention... and if I click, it's the song -- not the artist -- that got my attention... so the landing page should still mention the song, imho...
@@tomdupreeiii first of all thank you and second is it because it looks unprofessionell? Its hard as a german to get behind all this 😅 do i need a visualizer to do a toneden campaighn ? Its so confusing

Great video, changing up my landing pages so they end up on my profile 😁

I only use ToneDen for landing pages, not for their ad system. I recommend running ads via Facebook's ads manager for sure.

Do you use the link to Spotify profile for both your new release campaigns and ongoing Spotify growth campaigns? Or just the ongoing campaigns?
I only send traffic to my profile for the ongoing growth campaign. For release campaigns, I send them straight to the song.
@@tomdupreeiii for a new song campaign do you still only use the Spotify link? Like no iTunes or RUclips music links on your landing page right?
Tom where is the proof that linking to the Profile page is better than a single?
I have a lot of video case studies on this type of thing if you'll dig through my channel a bit. I've tested a lot of different combinations.
