What's going on everyone? In today's video, I'm going to show you a little issue I found with the Oculus Quest 2 while trying to use Oculus link. And I'm going to show you how I fixed it the easy way. The fix is definitely a strange one and it doesn't matter if you're using Nvidia graphics or AMD graphics either. This really shouldn't be an issue but it is. Thank you all so much for the patience, love, and support. I really couldn't do this without you!

It's come to my knowledge that the information in this video is a tab bit outdated. Meta has moved a lot of the options in the menu system around which makes this video hard to follow. @@FTLOG418 hey mate I have a huge problem so me and my friend are setting his oculus quest 2 up to his pc and we did everything correctly
But we can't connect his device at all to his pc and we have tried everything to do so
We have done this video and sadly it dident work
We can't connect it by cable to set the device up and we can't connect it by the air link either
The oculus link is broken for him and I don't know how to help him any more because it's just not working

can someone help me? I did all the steps, but my guest 2 isnt even doing the popup for asking data. I dont have the link cable, I have it plugged in with an usb a to a with an adapter for the quest.
I think it has to be hooked up with an Oculus Link Cable.
Try the charger cable that is given for the Oculus. It should work

whenever i plug my cable into my pc, it starts to charge and everything but it wont give me the option to allow files or to link
Go into the settings on the headset, then head to the developer tab. In the developer tab you should see an option to allow usb connections. Check that box and you should be good to go. If you’re still having an issue, make sure air link is turned off in the experimental features tab in the settings of the headset.
Instead of it asking to allow for data, it asks for file’s instead.

In 2023 the fix is different, you have to go to quest settings, system settings, and then the developer menu (if you have it enabled). If usb connection dialogs is off switch it on and it should work again

When I plug mine in (I use an adapter bc I don’t have a hole for it in my pc) it doesn’t even come up with alow data or anything like that

It kinda suck to be forced to do a fuckload of work just to be able to play pc games
just recently got an oculus quest 2 and it usually takes me about a half hour to even get it to work. then it crashes eventually.
It took him saying "oculus software" to make me realise what i was doing wrong. Oof. But the cover from beginning to end really helped!

Nice video. I just wish I could find a solution that I hadn't already tried. I"ve updated every driver. reinstalled the desktop oculus. restarted both devices. device and desktop are both set to cable. Nothing.
It used to work. I uploaded custom songs to Synth Rider a couple weeks ago.
And it turns out the cable that the Kiwi brand cable I bought a month ago was the problem.
I would get in contact with them and see if they will send you a new one or reimburse you for it
thanks man, really helped out. unfortunately the people who designed the quest 2 deserve every bad thing that has ever happened to anyone in the world, i'm talking about the most atrocious torture, methods that haven't even been invented yet, so i ended up with another problem with my device afterwards that stopped me from playing. Good video though
Hello, I have a problem where the Quest link connects, but for no reason it disconnects and the Meta application no longer recognizes it... Once it appeared that the USB connected to the PC malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it
Mine connects for a little bit, but the "device authorized" is not green and after less than a second they all turn red again
it doesnt ask me about the data thing and just starts charging my headset for some reason

Go into your settings app, then look for system, and the developer tab will be down a little bit on the left hand side
did all of this, and did not works. i have looked up soooooooooooooooooooo many fixes, btw air link is not in my expiremental features

Try going into settings in the headset and heading to the developers tab. In that menu should be a setting allow usb connections. Make sure that it is checked off and you should be all set

i really need help, ive been trying to connect my vr to my laptop for so long and theres no solution, i dont have the air link on and it still wont connect
I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about this same problem with laptops. A lot of people are suggesting to disable the dedicated graphics, opening up the oculus software and connecting the quest, and then turning on the dedicated graphics card again. I don’t have a laptop so I can’t really test this theory out unfortunately. If you want to give me a little more info on the model of laptop I will most certainly try to help out as best as I can.

I dont have a long link cable to im trying to make the air link to wirk without the cable since the new updat i have been able to so on the oclus the pc is showing up but when i try to pair it wirelessly it frind the pc but when i click it to pair the pair button goes from light blue to dark blue and infinite loads

The airlink feature wasnt there for me. Great video but i dont know how to activate that.
The toggle for airlink should be in the experimental features tab in the settings app unless they moved it.
It works but why doesn't airlink work when I'm trying to do it without the cable? It used to work so well before.

I have a problem. My oculus head set is seen as connected in oculus app but controllers are not connected. When i try to run a game it says please fix hardware issue first.

i mightve broke the cqble by charging my quest with it lol (third party cable, formatted pc and didnt work)

exporemental features doesn't include Air Link for me. Air link only pops up what I hit Quest link, even when I turn it off the PC doesnt show up. I was using this for a month with no problems then out of nowhere my Quest link stops picking up my PC. Any other suggestions?
does it concerned when oculus app on your phone as well doe it need to be turn off before i connect my pc to my oculus does it need to be turn off
In short, no. The phone app should have no bearing as to wether or not it will connect to your pc. What is the issue you’re having? Is it just not connecting to your pc?
I can't even get aqules link to launch it just get stick in the loading creen

This didnt work for me, when i turned off link and plugged my cable back into my headset it came up with allow but no authorise or it not asking me if i wanted to connect to my PC

Damn, the Experimental Features doesn't have the Air Link option to disable for me, so my Oculus connect program still can't find my headset.
I really wanted to just connect directly to my PC. Well.. maybe I need to find out how to find and use Air Link.

hi, i can get my air link to connect and connect to my pc, but when i press launch, it doesnt come up with the launch screen. it just stays on the screen where i connect to my pc? do you have any tips?

For me i hit add device and then hit oink cable but it keeps loading even when plugged in on the oculus app add device page
Are you trying to use the link cable to connect it? If so are you going directly into the quest 2?

I mean directly into the quest 2 usb c port. I’ve been seeing some users trying to connect to the quest 2 through a mastery pack which won’t work since there is no pass through on the battery packs
This works but doesn’t . I go in link and it done the three dots after that i thought it loaded but it was just a black screen. I went into steam vr and it was still a black screen even in the steam vr home. I clicked the VR VIEW on steam and i could see around me on my pc but not on my vr. Can you please help? I’ve been trying to get this to work for so long man.
Just in case this happens to someone I noticed that you to to plug the usb plug into the oculus directly. I have the battery pack and was plugging the usb into the battery pack and couldn’t get the usb debugging to work . I plugged directly into the oculus and it worked like a charm . I’m using a MacBook Pro.
Yeah you have to plug the quest in directly to the pc. The battery packs don’t have a USB pass through so you can’t have both plugged in at the same time. The quest charges while plugged into the pc anyway so you don’t need the battery pack while using oculus link.
FYI- This is no longer VALID after Version 50. Having issues with Quest not mounting as a storage device and under Portable devices in DM, it shows up as a MTP Device, not Quest 2 ... It think I need to force Quest/Oculus drivers here..

I can't get into mine because my son set a pattern password and it will not connect to change it and the pattern is the only thing showing up. So frustrating as I have the app right on my phone.
When I try to connect my headset on the oculus pc app, I press pair, and it just stays on pair, launch doesent light up

So im having an issue where it links me, but im stuck on the loading dots. Sometimes it says that it cant find my oculus while im ON oculus and linked
I would say in a case like that to try another link cable. I would probably test this by using the charging cable that comes with the quest 2 and seeing if there are any issues
For me it doesn’t even connect to my computer it just refuses to.

Hey there, sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to you. Unfortunately, it looks like the surface go only has integrated graphics. To my knowledge the oculus link software only works on devices with dedicated graphics so getting oculus link to work with that device is most likely not going to happen. Here is a list of all the compatible graphics cards for oculus link: support.oculus.com/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/oculus-link-compatibility/ sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s why it’s saying that your graphics card isn’t supported.
Ok but air link is better so what do we do about that
tried everything including this and I get an error message that says (try USB C cable instead) even though I legit have the literal cable you need for a pc connection. Not sure it my Meta is straight up defective.
I'm able to play games on it from pc but I cant see it in my files so cant install mods why is this?
That is odd. 🤔 Are you getting the notification that asks for permission to allow access to the headset when you plug the cable in?

The only time I’ve had that happen to me is when air link is enabled in the settings in the headset. Also go to the developers tab in the settings menu and you should see a box that says allow usb connections. Make sure that is enabled and you should get the notification that asks your permission for the pc to access the quest 2.
