(PSA) COMPLETELY DELETE YOUR HEADSET FROM OCULUS PC APP. MAKE SURE YOU TURN ON SHOW HIDDEN FILES IN YOUR FILE EXPLORER TO SHOW THE APPDATA FOLDER. To do this you have to open file explorer, go to the view button at the top of file explorer around the middle, once you click on that make sure you click show more and you'll see show hidden files.

It worked for me on quest 1 after, updating: windows, amd, nvidia, dev mode, device manager, high performance, changing network repeater, changing usb cables, visual studio c++, windows 10 & 11, install on c drive, different usb port, factory resets, took about 10sec to finally link. Something must have bugged in app data. Thank you 🙏

Tip is just go to the bottom search bar and type in %appdata% and hit enter and then type oculus in the top right to find your roaming data. You don't need to be in safe mode

I was getting issues only with air link. Link cable was working but when i tried to 'pair' with my computer via air link it would just not really do anything. Tried allsorts of stuff but this fixed it in the end. Thanks!

Will try this soon. I installed the oculus pc app and when trying clicking "pair" on my pc in my headsets settings, the blue box said launch and was grayed out and nothing happened. Hopefully this fixes that issue

Oh and after you select 4 to go into safe mode from the startup settings page do these steps: 1. Go to your file explorer into your C: drive 2. Go to program files and find the oculus folder and delete. 3.go back to C: drive main page 4. Go into users folder 5.click on your system name folder 6. Make sure show hidden files is on for you file explorer by going to the view button at the top of file explorer. Then once clicked you will hover over the show more button on the drop down from the view button and you'll see show hidden files at the bottom of the drop down from show more. 7. Go into the dark translucent folder called appdata 8. Type in the search bar: Oculus 9. Wait for everything to load. 10. Select everything that loaded for the result of oculus and delete

They are on the same Wi-Fi but it just stays saying “searching for pcs” for many minutes with 0 results. Please help,thanks. BTW the airlink was never working for me, I see for most people it just stopped working. For me this is an existing problem.

If you do have trouble make sure you check the comments cause theres some things you might need to do if you dont already have it done but for most it works with just the video. Make sure to subscribe for more stuff like this and gaming stuff!
If your worried cause you've never done it safe mode only starts your pc with the least amount of stuff possible so it's simpler. Also if you want to get out of safe mode just restart your pc and you'll go back to normal. One more thing, don't forget to delete your headset off of you Oculus PC app and oculus account for a full reinstall then you follow my video.
Got my quest 3 to air link after fiddling for 4 hours. Sent back as it kept getting errors. Got the 128gb and got it to link via cable but can't get it to link via air link.
@@SpinelessPyroI deleted it, and then with the 128GB model I traded to, once setup and had issues... Went ahead and factory reset it and connected to wifi with the qr code, and then spammed pair button on the air link and eventually it took. Now though it'll occasionally pop up weak wifi signal with a X next to it.... It's literally a 2Gig connection 5ft from the router...

Yea i might have too agree with you but also i think most likely you have something interferring that is neither the headset or the oculus pc app. If you haven't tried using a usb 3 cable from your pc to headset i would see if it can atleast pair with that. One more thing, I also deleted my headset from the oculus pc app before trying this so maybe that possibly helped to repair the pairing. Not worked with me. I have a pc with windows 11, 3060ti, i5 12400f, 32gb ram ddr4, i've done what you've said, but doesen't fix the problem. The pc is linked via ethernet to the modem and the quest 2 is linked by 5ghz wireless. I can link the visor only by cable, and it's visualized as a rift instead of a quest 2. If i try to connect to pc via airlink the visor sees the pc as not available, and if you try to connect it, it does nothing. If i try to open the oculus app and use the airlink it's not reconizing the visor.
Make sure you completely remove the oculus headset from your pc app and then check your oculus account on the browser and delete the headset. After doing that following my video should fix any problem.

Finally found a solution for me. It was a thing with the firewall on the eset security, so I deactivated the firewall of the antivirus so that can be manage by microsoft defender and thats it
it was a message in the antivirus program that said it blocked the connection. i had to go in and tell the program to allow the connection. @@rickyneeter69
you have to delete the headset from your account all together by going in the oculus pc app and deleting it. Thats what i i did and it worked. I think its a overlapping headset issue because of software. if this works don't forget to leave a sub if you enjoy content like this and some VR/Regular games!

Did this, sadly didnt work. I have tried literally everything, from factory resetting my laptop to factory resetting my oculus. Somebody please help me, I have been trying this for over a year now and somehow a multi billion dollar company doesnt know how to deliver on one of their key features.
what do you mean? Like it won't because you're not a admin? Some files make you have to give permission to yourself, If you don't know how theres alot of quick videos online for doing it.

still cant find anyone with the same issue i have. airlink is working and connected i go into desktop mode to play pcvr games and when i launch a game everything turns black saying VR device not detected... even tho its fully connected because im looking at my desktop with the headset on

did you delete the old headset on your oculus pc app by going to devices, clicking on your headset, scrolling down and deleting? Also if you didn't uninstall oculus through the regular way of uninstalling stuff as well as my tutorial try that.
you have to go to advanced options once you see the blue screen with the continue button at the top. Make sure to delete the old headset off of you Oculus PC app and your oculus account.
like for a actual cable or airlink? This will completely reset all things related to the quest PC app instead of not removing everything when you go through program files and uninstall. After you follow the video you will have a fresh start like its the first time you ever installed the Quest PC app.

Go into your task manager and close all the oculus stuff, if that doesnt work do a full shut down restart and then try but make sure you have oculus as not starting on startup by going into the task manager tab and turn it off.
Now steamvr is laggy asf pixalted asf. Virtual desktop is the same thing other then ur sharpening works but it stutters and lags all the time which is fucking bullshit. Sometimes airlink works thou then it dose not work which is strange. Last week it was working fine for me. This week it dose not work at all but last week when it worked it had crazy lag issues.
you can choose to have no internet safe mode, you must have selected the no internet option. Safe mode is just a bare bones windows for fixing things and will not do anything to you PC and is canceled by just restarting your pc.
For anyone stumbling across this, I was able to set up airlink by setting my network & internet properties to private instead of public and then restarting my computer. After restarting, try the airlink setup process and hopefully your pc will show up like mine did. Good luck!
@@CantBeatThisHeat Something that worked for me after many attempted fixes was connecting the vr or trying to connect to the pc then I used task manager to close all stuff that has oculus on it. restarted it and it worked

I would just incase but I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you cleared every file. Make sure you read the new pinned comment on this youtube video and turn on your hidden files to see the appdata folder in your user folder.
@@DNEXONE try doing exactly what quest tells you in the airlink tab. i unlinked my quest from my computer went to settings on the quest to general in think or something then airlink it'll give you a code once you re-pair it it worked a couple times but was glitchy.

If your worried cause you've never done it safe mode only starts your pc with the least amount of stuff possible so it's simpler. Also if you want to get out of safe mode just restart your pc and you'll go back to normal. One more thing, don't forget to delete your headset off of you Oculus PC app and oculus account for a full reinstall then you follow my video.

Got my quest 3 to air link after fiddling for 4 hours.
Sent back as it kept getting errors.
Got the 128gb and got it to link via cable but can't get it to link via air link.
If you haven't yet go on oculus.com and delete your headset off of your account and then follow this video.
@@SpinelessPyroI deleted it, and then with the 128GB model I traded to, once setup and had issues...
Went ahead and factory reset it and connected to wifi with the qr code, and then spammed pair button on the air link and eventually it took.
Now though it'll occasionally pop up weak wifi signal with a X next to it....
It's literally a 2Gig connection 5ft from the router...
While this isn’t working for some, I can at least say this worked for me. Thank you so much and I hope everyone can get theirs fixed.

Didn't change anything, it still won't connect and instead does nothing when I press pair
If you went to safe mode and deleted the oculus app and everything from the files then it should work, a bunch of other people got it to work.
Oh and i just realized you gotta uninstall oculus before doing this tutorial as well in safe mode.

It didn't work, I erased everything in safe mode and I am still stuck on the pairing screen. I think my headset might be broken.
Yea i might have too agree with you but also i think most likely you have something interferring that is neither the headset or the oculus pc app. If you haven't tried using a usb 3 cable from your pc to headset i would see if it can atleast pair with that. One more thing, I also deleted my headset from the oculus pc app before trying this so maybe that possibly helped to repair the pairing. I have a pc with windows 11, 3060ti, i5 12400f, 32gb ram ddr4, i've done what you've said, but doesen't fix the problem.
The pc is linked via ethernet to the modem and the quest 2 is linked by 5ghz wireless.
I can link the visor only by cable, and it's visualized as a rift instead of a quest 2.
If i try to connect to pc via airlink the visor sees the pc as not available, and if you try to connect it, it does nothing.
If i try to open the oculus app and use the airlink it's not reconizing the visor.
Make sure you completely remove the oculus headset from your pc app and then check your oculus account on the browser and delete the headset. After doing that following my video should fix any problem.
Problem solved. It was the damn antivirus that blocked my connession to the quest 2.
@@makkadeath85Quick question what antivirus was it and how do you disable that as I'm using malware bytes premium and now wondering if that's what my problem is I plug my headset into my pc and it just says that it's charging and it doesn't give me the option to connect to my pc
@@Snailistic nod32 antivirus. I’ve solved in 2 different ways, or pausing the firewall or making exception rules in the firewall for the oculus app.

Finally found a solution for me. It was a thing with the firewall on the eset security, so I deactivated the firewall of the antivirus so that can be manage by microsoft defender and thats it

it was a message in the antivirus program that said it blocked the connection. i had to go in and tell the program to allow the connection.

you have to delete the headset from your account all together by going in the oculus pc app and deleting it. Thats what i i did and it worked. I think its a overlapping headset issue because of software. if this works don't forget to leave a sub if you enjoy content like this and some VR/Regular games!

You need to delete your old headset off of your Oculus PC app and off your oculus account then follow my video, that almost certainly will fix it!

Did this, sadly didnt work. I have tried literally everything, from factory resetting my laptop to factory resetting my oculus. Somebody please help me, I have been trying this for over a year now and somehow a multi billion dollar company doesnt know how to deliver on one of their key features.

what do you mean? Like it won't because you're not a admin? Some files make you have to give permission to yourself, If you don't know how theres alot of quick videos online for doing it.

you probably have to get rights to the files, it happens sometimes where you don't have the owner set to you as well.

still cant find anyone with the same issue i have. airlink is working and connected i go into desktop mode to play pcvr games and when i launch a game everything turns black saying VR device not detected... even tho its fully connected because im looking at my desktop with the headset on

@@Liz2famous big issue for me is when playing steamVR, something todo with connection no matter how close i was to pc or my internet box, the game would have some lag and it does this really awful thing where everything turns black and headset goes rouge shaking and it causes me insane motion sick feeling. i have found 0 fixes... sadly. hope you dont get this issue too!

I need a fix for occulus link quest 2 pc...
like for a actual cable or airlink? This will completely reset all things related to the quest PC app instead of not removing everything when you go through program files and uninstall. After you follow the video you will have a fresh start like its the first time you ever installed the Quest PC app.

its so hilarious that we even have to try shit like this. This didn't fix the issue for me either btw... im at the end of my patience with the quest 2. I've tried literally every fix available on the internet and my airlink is still just completely unusable out of nowhere after working perfectly for months. Meta is a fucking joke.
Have you deleted your headset off your account on oculus.com? That fixed it for me as well

Go into your task manager and close all the oculus stuff, if that doesnt work do a full shut down restart and then try but make sure you have oculus as not starting on startup by going into the task manager tab and turn it off.

Now steamvr is laggy asf pixalted asf. Virtual desktop is the same thing other then ur sharpening works but it stutters and lags all the time which is fucking bullshit. Sometimes airlink works thou then it dose not work which is strange. Last week it was working fine for me. This week it dose not work at all but last week when it worked it had crazy lag issues.
btw do not use safe mode it completely disconnects you from ethernet just dont use it trust me
you can choose to have no internet safe mode, you must have selected the no internet option. Safe mode is just a bare bones windows for fixing things and will not do anything to you PC and is canceled by just restarting your pc.
One more thing, being in safe mode helps get rid of files completely as normal windows boot doesn't always get the files.

For anyone stumbling across this, I was able to set up airlink by setting my network & internet properties to private instead of public and then restarting my computer. After restarting, try the airlink setup process and hopefully your pc will show up like mine did. Good luck!

@@CantBeatThisHeat Something that worked for me after many attempted fixes was connecting the vr or trying to connect to the pc then I used task manager to close all stuff that has oculus on it. restarted it and it worked

I would just incase but I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you cleared every file. Make sure you read the new pinned comment on this youtube video and turn on your hidden files to see the appdata folder in your user folder.

@@DNEXONE try doing exactly what quest tells you in the airlink tab. i unlinked my quest from my computer went to settings on the quest to general in think or something then airlink it'll give you a code once you re-pair it it worked a couple times but was glitchy.
