Factory Reset is basically resetting the headset back to its state when you first buy and launch it up, all of your data is lost, but since you have a oculus account, you will keep stuff on the account, like the songs and cosmetics.

i think it is common sense that you’d lose bmbf by the fact it said it erases EVERYTHING. all your data on that headset was erased, nothing was kept. the reason why some things stayed was because it is linked to your account or it is saved in cloud, like how you kept your gt cosmetics.

Nahh my meta account got banned so I got a whole new meta quest, none of my cosmetics were they obviously, but remember guys as long as you have skill (like me) cosmetics don’t matter

For #1 at 3:06 that is not fully true. If you sync your headset to your phone, you photos and videos will all be there in the meta app and there is an option to automatically upload them to your camera roll.
I think the only way to save your videos is to link your headset to side link, open your videos folder and save all your videos to your headset, factory reset, and after the factory reset, add the videos that you saved onto your computer eariler, and drag them back in your headset.
Your headset had a boot loop. This is caused by a data corruption. Causes.. 1. Storage is full (Common) 2. Dalvik cache error 3. Fatal data partition corruptions. 4. Cache partition corruptions 5. Hardware issues. 6. Force shutdowns (sometimes)
If it is possible too connect it to a pc, copy all the files, (if u can), and then you can copy your files back onto the headset. I’m not sure if this works, just a suggestion if it happens again

Most common examples of this include things like Kiosk apps witch restrict the device to one app and one app only, Parental control apps that set time limits on the device, block apps, and block specific settings from being changed and some other more advanced things that I VERY highly doubt that you would have been involved in. This has happened to me on a tablet that my business uses as a kiosk many times the biggest reason for it is normally because that software is not a great choice and is not a well developed software and causes it to boot loop because it is now cached enough information to run locally thus it can do that on boot. My team and I ended up creating a new app for our kiosk thing. As for you I would assume that it is parental control app or you installed a bad pirated game. I know Quest's are based on android and I have seen this on android phones tablets etc. so this is interesting to see on a quest!

i know how to fix this, so you have to disconnect your wifi then go to browser it will say "cant connect to wifi" you click on that and then you connect to your internet, if this doesn't work then your cooked
One of the reasons it does that (based on experience) is that it can have full storage and if you continue to not solve it ,it might get bricked and fail to factory reset like mine did.😊
OK so this is what you do you have to factory reset it but because it did it to me like yesterday is because it needs to update but it will not update so you have to factory reset it for to update. It does not delete your account. You have to have a phone and download the download app for you to keep your account.

The ring means that your headset is android powered so that means that you can install a new os install apk files (android apps)

Factory resetting removes that apk and thus you no longer have the problem.

usually that means you need to wait a bit cause your Q2 is way to slow that it goes into that stage and it happens on my q1

A: you have a local backup of app data
B: all app data is stored in the cloud

I had that happened to me all that I had to do was just hold down the power and volume up button for like 10-20 seconds and it worked
If u have this in a future problem this is how I fixed it go to press power off wait 72 hours then turn it on and it will work

If there would be a fastboot Mode, then you could do a Firmware up/downgrade via PC
