In my first playthrough, I didn’t get any of this. I accidentally activated the quest and I go back to my wandering. I thought my game was bugged when all I hear is an epic boss music. That is happening and meanwhile I just walking around Batthal 😂

I believe this makes the I, Talos achievement unobtainable.
Didn't even experience the battle because I went back to get pawns and resupply before heading further south and so I never actually saw Talos
I got that at my first try. Shot that arrow at him that kills everything in one shot. Well almost then. Because it didn't kill Talos. But opened up every hole/hitmarker.
Then the troops killed it long before the gate
Use magic Archer with sedative shot on Medusa and cut of her head while she sleeps. Use preserved head on Talos as he passes you near the start. If you missed everything... There is always new game plus.
@@zazoreal5536or just use the cascade arrow (the one that you can charge like 30 arrows i think its called like this) and two shot every spike, killed him way before he reached the beach and had to wait for him to reach the zone he can actually die in
For me I just cast Maelstrom a couple of times and tore apart gigantus completely
@@zazoreal5536DONT DO THIS. this will fully kill Talos. Kill him normally, or else you lock yourself out of an epic battle scene in the true ending world
I was panicking during this quest, running around the map, not knowing what to do, my only objetive at that moment was to deliver the sword to paesus(dont remember his name) but all the doors to reach this dude where closed.😂
I like how the objective is to deliver the sword to him because an npc told you to and some time crunching intern assumed that was correct when phaeseus is your ENEMY and the whole point of the sword was to have an item to prevent him and the usurper from controlling pawns.
I’m in my second run of unmoored , you can actually fight the red dragon kill it then in end scene talk to ghost guy twice an he will put you back on the dragon so you can crawl to heart an go to unmoored , you want do all fights to stop timer except the last beam that appears , try not to rest to much as you only have 13 rests, then hunt that sweet loot , there so many new caves opened up we’re the water was
should i get to the blue beam first when i get to unmoored world?
@@votpavel yes if you want to evacuate everybody (which has an achievement) otherwise their dialogues make no mention of it, I'm not sure if it has any other effects
I would do a few red beams as they slow the progress of the fog , I just found out you can get the elf to follow you just by keep asking him over an over he just bends to your will even if you done no missions

I didn't attack it, I assumed I was supposed get to the quest destination before it

@@OstrichBananaAs magic Archer. He was technically dead at the beach but he is scripted to reach a certain point
I saw he was just a good guy doing his job so I left him be but the game wouldn’t let me progress unless I killed him 😢
Same, I mean we both hate Phaesus so I was with him.
It let me progress without killing him it just gave me a bunch of cut scenes of phaesus running from it 😂 they killed it
I ignored it, went on my way. You can even still loot it afterward lol
Thanks for confirming what I kinda expected after not realising what I had to do for most of this quest, only shooting a few rounds at him and then winning anyway. They somehow managed to make a worse version of Monster Hunters Zorah Magdaros Quest
Yeah it is but the rewards are somewhat worth It when you stop him because you go back to his body when you are in Unmoor to trigger a cutscene and get that bonus reward. Your Pawn takes over it's body and does stuff.

@@saltycrusader3107 I haven't gone back to Unmoor yet but I recall it was something and the exp was 32 with a lot of 0s with it just bring your pawn to the statue if you stopped it when you are in Unmoor.

You can completly ignore it and will just get "meanwhile" cuts every so often till its just dead. I started the quest (Where they open the door) and then when I noticed it was getting to that "Point of no return" I turned around and ran off to finish other things. About 10 min later I got a cutscreen of him spawning and maybe a hour or so later he was dead while I was off up near the elf place lol
I have heard some back and forth though that if you manage to kill him before he just hits the point where he like falls in the lava and dies it opens things in the true end game that will be locked out otherwise. I don't think its anything super game breaking just some additional quest or something
It helps with a rather important end/post-game quest

The quick you kill it the more it helps in the unmoored world for people that don’t know , use the arrow of unmaking on it
I just turned him back to stone again and saved my arrow for the sphinx
Thats a waste of an unmaking arrow, I literally killed it just with the normal lock on shots of a magick bow while playing Warfarer before he even got to the settlement.
Maelstrom works too
The arrow just to kill it the quickest , it still carry’s on walking even with all pins removed an stops out side the settlement, the quicker it dies the more dragons it will kill in unmoored , I had it do 1 were a friend had it kill 2
Didn’t even think about useing the Medusa head , think I’ll have try that , I’m curious was you able to go to it in the unmoored and still use it while it was stone?
After reading this comment section i feel like a black sheep, that i had explored most of vern, and bathall before this , was like lvl 50 something, and managed to kill talos before he made it to the first set of ballista. I didnt realize people could trigger it before reaching that area, and/or that people didnt understand that they had to kill or fight him. I am once again reminded that people dont think like me and dont unknowingly speedrun their way through the game.
I believe the at the True Ending you'll have a choice for Talos?
I can't confirm because I'm busy delivering this goddamn pot for the Sphinx. XD
You can just use a ferrystone to bring the guy to the pot you don't actually have to deliver it. He even has unique dialogue if you do.
There is indeed something you can do with Talos at the true endgame.
you can use the phial you got from the 1st trail.
Ouch....drop a portcrystal at the sphinx, grab the NPC, ferrystone to the sphinx. Special dialogue for doing it this way too.
Save the phial for the magic archer quest, just pick up the guy you deliver the big pot to and ferry stone back to the sphinx using your port crystal. They can be picked back up after they’re placed.
I activated this sequence while goin through the south route to volcanic Islands. Was very confused as to why my game ekpt cutting to something I wasn't a part of 😂
If you let him get that far, you dont get the special cutscenes during the unmoored world.
I heard you don’t get as many red lights boss fights in the unmoored world if you kill it too fast is that a thing?

I fought him with everything i had, climbed and fell down multiple times, using multiple wakestones, used a ton of consumables and all, gave my everythng, destroyed all the rock pins in him, he was bleeding purple and missing an arm and somehow still moving... i hit him at wounds and eye at everything in desperation.
He finally stopped just before the wooden bridge at about 13:45 ... :P
Turns out i could chill in the hot springs that entire time...

so this "boss fight" starts when you get the cutscene of his eyes opening or when you actually see him walking out of the water?

This is an element of the game that could be better I mean it shouldn't die if the MC does not kill it.
Defeating it is mainly about preserving it for a quest latter vs having it be completely destroyed.
So does the part in post game with your pawn and talos not happen if the talos gets completely destroyed like this? I used the unmaking arrow on talos before it could throw the spear and its body stays intact where it falls
It will kill more stuff for you , it only helped me once
He's not there in my post-game because the lava, so ya. I'm on a timer 😂
it's beneficial to let him die. You dont get xp or the wakestone shards but unmoored world has extra days added and 2 more bosses for WLC 👍
what happened to me was, before even reaching the volcanic camp my pawn casted metereon on it and it immediately died😂 i even got the achievement for defeating the him in a short span of time lmao

Still, if you beat it while keeping its arms, it was awesome to watch your pawn take it over and kill two brine dragons with it.
A better showing of what its actually capable of.
This was like battling the Colossus of Rhodes or SoTC 2 . I was impressed with this boss. for it's Invention and timed mechanics. This game makes you think bc at first was like so how do i get the trophy you F@£&!!. and so i reloaded, ran to the cove and bought a lil something. 😅
This game is one of the best RPGs I've played. I have beeb hand held in gaming for years and Elden Ring and DD have flipped my script. I never had to think of such normally obvious stuff. Like wearing certain clothes and not selling items that i think are worthless. God i had to work hard to get Master of Maisters trophy.
Has any one else had ulrika at the start of the game have red eyes like the dragon plague , it wasn’t there on my other runs but just hit my 4th run , an when you have the flash back an she nurses you in the bed her eyes was going crazy, the watcher in end game summons her , Sven , and Brant as shadows , I’m curious if anyone else noticed this if so I’m gona kill them all , if nothing happens I assume you can just use wake stones at the morg on them
I think this is the most anti climatic fight ever I just ran past and it just died eventually. From the trailers I thought it would be this epic boss fight but no just a walking giant...

You can experience the game fully to a degree but yeah there is a NG+. I did beat him but not fast enough for the achievement last time so I'll be more prepared this time
This has consequences for the endgame(/"postgame") compared to defeating him normally.
I don’t believe it does I just finished the game yesterday and had this happened on my play through and once you close the final red rift in the unmoored world he fights the brime monster still

Kill it on the way to the destination it was tanking everything I threw at it
@@The411876543 but tbh you want the extra rifts it’s about 120 wlc per rift you close its 2 dragons and 2 worm/snake things lol and countless mini bosses
i used magick archers martyrs bolt to do a lot of damage to his crystals, and then shoot ballistas at him, i suppose you can also use an unmaking arrow as well@@Sippycupman
Well that was a waste of time lol. His left knee wouldn't break but I was persistent until it did...looks like it just doesn't matter
It does, defeating him quickly effects a latter quest. If he is completely destroyed, you miss out on one of the more interesting moments in the game
In my version I didn't have the guy with the shield and killmonger hairstyle; I keep seeing this NPC but he hasn't shown up for me once. I must've missed quests :(
you need to go to the tavern in bathal and figth the criminals that challenge you, later there is a quest to escort a noble into bathal and that npc appears too, where you will have to chose to side with or against him

he doesn't start attacking until you progress the main story in Battahl and open a sealed door. at that point he will begin attacking as far as I know
So what happens at the end in unmoored world when you need this statue to fight the dragon?
I believe that dragon is optional since it doesn't appear to have a beam of light. It adds like 2 days though so if you're into farming then you will want it.
CAn anyone please explain to me why I can't stab out the last crystal? I've tried multiple times and it never works until he loses an arm and dies in the end
Shoot it with a balista and it will fall.
the last crystal got much more hp then the others imo
I used the unmaking arrow on it, which the devs probably didn't expect, because instead of stopping right in the ocean, it continued to move until it's well in-land before going dormant.

What happens to the two Gigantus fights in the Unmoored World if you let him collapse in the lava? Does he rise back from the lava to fight them?

Its actually worth stopping him because you go back to his body when you are in Unmoor to trigger a cutscene and get a big bonus reward. Your Pawn takes over it's body. After that, that's for you to find out.

Warning: If you kill it using this method, you won't be able to get the "I Talos" achievement in the unmoored world.
Does that also count as killing/defeating it within a certain timeframe (Achievement?)
@lordvalinar774 I believe so. And you will be able to loot him as well, every one of those harpoon is a wakestone

Yes, use maelstorm, it can destroy all his cores up to his shoulders, then you'll probably need a thief or archer who will destroy the eye or maybe you get lucky with meteoron if it hits his head

@@itachi_uchiha9961 I haven't tried it, some say they activated the quest and left and after some time it was defeated anyway, you don't have to do it by yourself, other npcs from volcanic camp will also help you, it's more of a cinematic story quest than a real boss fight

What’s the lore behind it ?
From the ramblings of the old man at Harve it seems to keep the dragon in check if necessary for the worldforged. So everyone plays their part in his little theatrics.
So, nothing happens...
So after I got the godsbane or rather the first version of it I got a cutscene of this things eyes turning red but then nothing after that did I miss something

Oh yes rub salt in the wound for not packing insta kill by punishing the player losing a settlement just to end up showing the entire ordeal is pointless. I gotta say this had so much potential but it's ruined by horrible design choices. Like imagine if we fight this thing without the risk of anhilating a town in some arena it would of been amazing but they decided to make it a gimmick instead.

It changes and Endgame quest if he stays intact or not. They did drop the ball on quest payoff though, look at all of the quest around the Regent Disa and I agree.
