    What a wild blue belt. Just got mine recently and I see with the striped blues that I got a LONG way to go.

      Blue belt is definitely a GRIND. I think I spent about 3-4 years as one but let me tell you in my opinion it is the most important belt. You learn so much defense, and start to develop your style at blue. If you make it through blue chances are you’ll be in it for the long haul.
      Congrats on getting yours!

      @@ursinhobjj That guy is an excellent guard player as you mentioned. Since he was playing that guard really hard, I would have let him sweep me and then see how he does it on top position with you trying to reverse it or sweep him. Very entertaining roll.

    Really like your channel. Wondering if you could explain more about when you did the stand and open, you checked for what foot was on top. Wondering why? Thank you

    • @ursinhobjj
      @ursinhobjj  2 года назад +1

      Yeah for sure! Sometimes I check really quickly what foot is on top because one of the ways I like to open the guard is by wedging my hand in between the bottom and top foot pushing the bottom down and away to open the closed guard lock.
      There are some people who play closed guard left foot over right foot so I like to check the orientation so I know what hand to use to wedge in between the feet.

    Man, if he had switched to a cross sleeve grip @ 1:39 into a flower sweep, you woulda been toast. I gotta rewatch this to see if i can work this sequence into my game

    • @ursinhobjj
      @ursinhobjj  2 года назад +1

      Yeah that would’ve been the solution instead of same side. Lucky for me that didn’t happen 😂. He is slick with the triangle set ups.

    • @jrock2019
      @jrock2019 Год назад

      If he would cross grip you would of passed because that right hand grip on your left leg prevented you from passing.
