You picked a good one! Your tests really do reveal personality and physical capability. You mentioned showing us how you do your complete evaluation. I guess you meant your intake. I'd really like to see that. You're doing a great job!
She's such a good girl! First ride, new rider, new home etc... not a spook or a buck, she's lovely and I'm sure will just get better and better!! Congrats!!
Just found your channel, I have helped rescue and rehome for over 25 years. So worth the effort to save many of these that end up here due to no fault of their own. God bless you!
Great question! Auctions are where horses can be sold from seller to a large group of people. Kill lots are where horses purchased for slaughter wait until there are enough animals to fill a truck to go to either mexico or Canada. Oftentimes kill buyers will sell horses from their lot directly to people oftentimes through social media for inflated prices.
Yes we do! We have a separate quarantine pasture where they stay for 1 month (or longer) to make sure any diseeases have run their course or are treated by our vet.
Ive always loved horses my granfather was a horse man her drove the horse drawn herse my uncle loved horses too wish people would stand back and see what they are doing to such beautiful horses for them only money making game nothing but that
@@rhfarmstables That's great news there was nothing bad that caused her to stumble like that! I always get concerned when I see this in a horse. Now that is taken care of, you can look into possible trauma issues why she is afraid or just lazy to pick up her feet.
She may have had a foal, you’d be able to tell that when you evaluated her, but she could have also been grazing with young cattle. I once paid for grazing where there would be no young cattle animals. Then he shifted my horse into an area where there WERE cattle, and my horse lost its tail. I was furious to say the least
Not often! We did ground work and round pen session prior to this I just didn't film it. Our previous work indicated enough about their personality, and that was a risk I felt comfortable taking. I've been doing this for a while and can usually tell how a session will go. The sessions here are very short so I didn't feel the need for my usual "riding uniform".
She's a good looking mare and well behaved - thank goodness you saved her!
We agree! We don't get this lucky very often with rescue. Can you believe she would have gone to slaughter?!

Can't believe she needed "rescue." Good horse.
You're doing a good work! We are too much of a great nation to be doing this to an animal that helped make us a great nation
We purchased a horse for our daughter from there. She was a wonderful decision❤️
Glad it worked out for you - we aren't fans of this stockyard.
Just came across this video, she looks happy you can see her confidence grow while you are riding her, well done.

She's A Gem Of A Horse !
We think so!

Thanks Lori! Glad to hear you have a heart for rescue as well!
Thank you for saving them! ❤️
THANK YOU!❤
Thank you for rescuing them! We have mostly rescue horses in our therapy program for kids ♥️ new sub ~jc
Awesome! We love that you're providing a new life for rescue horses - every horse has value!
Bless your heart ❤❤❤
She is a pretty horse and looks like she will be a good one with a little reminder work.
Yes we think so too!
Just cannot believe a sweet little mare could have gone to slaughter...
breaks my heart ❤
It's so hard! Especially since she had nothing really wrong with her, just needed some tlc and retraining.
Its only a money making busines for them not caring about the poor horses make you sick what they doing to them
Thanks so much for the video
Lovely video. Thanks.
Awesome video
Is it just because she is underweight, or does she need a lot of work building her back end?
Both!
I don't want to sound really really stupid but what is the difference between auctions and the killer feed lots

Well done
I love people like you all .where are you located at thanks Roger from Ohio
Thank you very much for posting videos. I see your farm is in NC. Where and what horse auction do you go to?
Thanks Rob - This particular one was in mount airy, NC.
Thanks! What’s the name of the auction barn/facility?
And do kill buyers buy horses there from the Mount Airy auction location?
Due you quarantine horses from the auction? I understand many auction horses have communicable diseases
Yes we do! We have a separate quarantine pasture where they stay for 1 month (or longer) to make sure any diseeases have run their course or are treated by our vet.
What sort of people would do such things to such loving animals make you sick of it why havent they been brought to justice for their crimes
Agree!
Ive always loved horses my granfather was a horse man her drove the horse drawn herse my uncle loved horses too wish people would stand back and see what they are doing to such beautiful horses for them only money making game nothing but that
Do their tails ever grow back? Yes I would get her legs and feet looked at she stumbles.
Yes they do! We did have the vet and farrier out she is doing much better now

Babies chew on momma’s tails sometime. This is definitely a foal chew and not a scissor cut.
We found out it was chewed by another horse! She didnt have her own foal but somebody definitely got nibbly.
Where was this auction?
This one is in Mt. Airy NC
Nice looking mare. Where are you located?
Central NC! We absolutely love her 🥰

Yes we thought it could have been eaten as well! Thanks for sharing Annie 👍
where can we donate?
You can donate at www.rh-farm.com/donations ! Thank you!
really you ride with out boots and out in the open on a new horse

She's a little lame in her left front leg.
May be! She's doing well now :)
@@rhfarmstables glad to hear it, she's a nice horse
