  • This Analog Horror Series completely exceeded my expectations and didn't turn out like most series do. I really got attached to the characters and was rooting for them. Join me as we follow a guy named Jonah as he uncovers the secrets of his traumatic past.

    I’m really glad you didn’t make the thumbnail one of those dumb “she’s evil!” Or “this cartoon controls kids” ones, but instead made it what it is. Love you man!

    About the gun: It's mostly context clues: Something heavy and dangerous that can be used to cause harm, but can be taken apart and hidden in pieces, and something that Gabby feels is imperative enough to risk getting rid of.

    What an awesome reaction! You add so much of your personal perspective and interject so much, it's really cool to see. How fascinating to get your live thoughts. I especially liked the anti-Francis sentiments and how you accidentally became Jonah halfway through. Truly excellent, thanks for covering it!

      Stuff like this is why I strongly think reaction content isn't inherently bad. It's _really_ good content if it's done as a way to add live thoughts to the content than to just use it as an easy content farm.

    My favorite detail is that she knows what a gun is because she learned it from the detective show that Zag was from.

      Thats a very interesting idea. I figured it was because her being an angel and part all knowing or somethint, but I personally leant towards the Funny of her happening to be knowledgeable on guns as a hobby.
      Though a heartbreaking answer is that she knows so much about guns from seeing the children she couldn't help fall victim to them.

    The opinion you said there at the end, about an obsession, you can see it in the description of the video!

      Ah! I get that, sometimes it can be a real hassle to avoid spoilers!
      I just thought that it was nice that what you said would line up so well with what the creators intended! Other reactors don't seem to get the obsession angle.

    Its funny that many people comment on the religiosity, but can we take a second to appreciate that It Has Nothing To Do With Organized Faith-- Gabby didn't find Jonah because he was a good little boy who prayed for a friend, Gabby found Jonah *because Jonah needed help.*
    If you shake off the built aspects of religion, the assumptions of piety and evangelicalism, you get a story that might actually appear in the bible; of a suffering child needing help, and an angel coming to deliver them.
    And then she went away to go help everyone, but found out she couldn't do it alone. That maybe someone whom she helped who used to be afraid and small has grown up big and strong and *caring* enough to search for her when she's lost and wish to help her when she struggles.
    Its how victimhood becomes heroic instead of a monstrosity. By leaning on others in periods of recovery, and letting others lean on you in periods of strength.
    And that's freakin beautiful

    • @memelescream4796
      @memelescream4796 Месяц назад +1

      It's one of my favorite parts of Gabby's character, because she doesn't say "this is right because the Bible says to do it", She says "this is right, and the Bible says this about it". Yes, she's heavily Christian, but at the end of the day, she's a good person. the bible doesnt talk about taking apart guns or creating an alibi. She does that, because theres a child being hurt by someone who should be protecting him, and she needs to fix that.

    Congrats on being the first person to not over sensationalize this show with a stupid title like "THIS SHOW MAKED A BOY KILL?" and showing the true nature of the show being dark but positive and rather wholesome.

    This series really opened my eyes to the way "bad" analog horror is kind of poisoning the way people approach horror narrative. So many people who watch this are paranoid that Gabby is secretly a demon. But legitimately, this series is so much stronger when the real humans in Jonah's life are the monsters. If you flip the script it becomes another dumb Mascot Horror for the trash pile.

    Im thinking Gabby was brainwashing Jonah into slowly being violent... but then again abuse usually does that already. And maybe the mom just didnt know? Curious to know if there was a real monster or if this was all in his head.

    • @ScottyBlades
      @ScottyBlades  8 месяцев назад +2

      I love the brainstorming

    • @quest9905
      @quest9905 2 месяца назад +2

      The mom is said to be a doctor, and heavily implied to be a very absent parent during the period that the abuse was happening.
      I personally believe that she's who Gabby was referring to which the line about how even though the sun is warm, Johna should not forget the times it burns him. Even though the the mom wasn't the abuser, her ignorance and absence allowed it to happen.
      As for the child violence stuff, I'm not totally sure. If you believe that Gabby convinced Johna to kill his own father (instead of doing it herself which is the other theory) then she was probably scared by the sudden act of violence from the child, and desperate to find the reason behind it and make sure something like it didn't happen again.

    I think out of most videos ive seen on the series wendigoon was the closest to hitting it on the nose. I definitely sensed an underlying malice in gabriels action. One that caused relief in some aspects but also a lot of trouble. And we have to allow ourselves to bring the ambiguous moral of her choice into consideration because it ultimately lead to a sons father dying. Jonahs mother appeared distressed for a very long time and felt it had something to do with Jonah and Angel Hare and ran wild investigations into the company and the behavior of children suspected of carrying out a violent act. There are too many hints in the reels and addendums to the actual series, and the series itself, that ought to make people realize something is up. And good on angel hare, eh? Its the only series other than stockroach i know of that gave evidence of accurately surmising the rippling effects of a father dying
