Forgot to mention - you *can* play this game with your friends as well in multiplayer! It's a steal for the price on sale currently, so if you want some fun with your relatives over the holidays, you could consider this little indy gem ;) Oh, and of course the always obligatory: Please like & subscribe if you haven't yet!!
This looks like one of those games where I start watching the video and then stop because I just go and get the game instead. Some of that beginning struggle in figuring stuff out is important I think. I'll come back to finish watching though. :D
just so you know different rooms have different walking speeds for crew, so having more halways means the crew will walk faster, the walk speed of the rooms is in the details tab i think.
Has been some time for me, since i played the game, but still there doesnt seem to be repeatable missions and no ressource respawn, which was a major letdown for me.
@@TheDutchActuary there is actually respawning resources, trade ships and wanted pursuit ships will spawn indefinitely, so you can commit acts of piracy for unlimited money. fame will still be a limiter though, and it's not like you'll have a shortage of resources after mining an entire system bare
I get that, but it does mean you need to think a bit more about where you place things on your ship. There isn't *that* much for crew to transport, so having this (admittendly awkward) system does add to the creativity needed to make larger ships
It is a brilliant little bit of game design. It results in crew time being a single resource for all optimisation. Any inefficiencies in the ship design are ultimately expressed as poor crew efficiency, resulting in either things not working properly or you need to compensate by throwing more crew at the problem. It is a single mechanic which results in enormous scope for engineering problems for the player to solve when designing their ship. It is very elegant.

OMG I didn't actually expect you to take my suggestion for this game! Thank you so much, I know you'll give it the treatment it deserves.
Been curious about this one for a while. Playing along (loosely) again :) Happy New Year TDA!
Better late than never: Happy new year to you too!
Thanks for playing this game, you've earned a sub and I'm excited to see more!
Cool game. Youre finding intresting ones out there :) as for the name - i suggest something sharp ;) blade/razor/dagger. Waiting for next episode!

very good game 👍 I remember playing this game a long time ago and had lots of fun but then stopped because it was so hard in the late game for me
Oh god yes this is one of my favorite games
Some ship names: Sulaco (Aliens), Liberator (Blakes 7).
If you decide on some pure cargo ships: Nostromo (Alien).
That’s my name just with a S and a seven
Event Horizon
might have to look at this one again, been awhile since i played it last
You can also destroy weapons and engines to disable and defeat a ship.

This is probably to avoid you staying in the starting zone forever. That said, if you mine/clear out entire zones you get to build plenty of ships!

The one thing I wish it had for me to want it is for it to be a 3d (Layered) ship build rather than a 2d system
That would be fun for sure!
Have you checked out Space Engineers?
Doors everywhere isn't good idea. Doors are only way fire can spread to another room
You're right, but with a ship this size if things are on fire... you're in major trouble to begin with :P
@@TheDutchActuary it's also extra cost which is not great at any stage of the game
Having to physically carry power to systems by hand is kind of dealbreaker for me. I find that arbitrary and silly.

Avorion is better game of this genre
That looks interesting as well! I like the 2D element this one got going tho!
wouldn't say better. they're very different games
