The Subbie Supper reminds me of a recipe my grandmother gave me years ago called Russian Chicken. It was made with bone in chicken, a package of onion soup mix, Russian dressing and 1 jar apricot jam/preserves. It took me years to be able to find the nerve to try it. It sounded so weird but it is wonderful!
Mandy made this in her recent video. I had to search for Lauren’s Indian chicken because I tried this one and enjoyed it but found it greasy. I will try it again with chicken breast instead.
🦃21 years ago a coworker made the most delicious leftover Turkey recipe after Thanksgiving. She said she put the leftover Turkey, 1 can of Cranberry dressing, and 1 cup of orange juice with 1 envelope of Lipton onion soup mix in the crock pot. It just warmed all day on low. It was so amazing.
Just made Lauren’s Indian chicken… I was very skeptical about the cranberries French dressing and onion soup mix. Don’t think I would’ve tried it if I hadn’t seen the reaction from your son and your husband standing and clapping for it they were right!! Had a better flavor even the next day! Thanks for taking a chance with that one it was great!!
We all LOVE the chicken cranberry recipe. I have been making it for 25 years. A coworker gave the recipe to me, she said it and been a family favorite of theirs. You can add French , Catalina, Western, Dorothy salad dressing. I have seen some recipes like this that have apricot jam instead of cranberries. The recipe is probably at least 30 years old. Maybe older ... Lol.
Your lovely family is such a bright, beautiful ray of light in an increasingly fractured and chaotic world. It’s so encouraging to see people who genuinely love, respect, and support each other; who weather hard storms with deep faith; who know how to laugh and have fun; who keep the main thing the MAIN thing; and who have not forsaken the time-honored tradition of gathering around the supper table each evening, not only to share sustenance, but to be together. There is no price tag on time (consistently) spent together. I look forward to every video, and my family is trying Lauren’s chicken tonight! Keep shining! You are brighter than you know!!
The chicken recipe is very similar to Russian Chicken which Traci B makes quite often. It has chicken, russian dressing, onion soup mix and apricot preserves. She serves it over rice. I think you could serve Lauren's chicken over rice too.
Mandy, love your channel. Would you consider including 1 diabetic meal every so often? Even if your viewers are not diabetic, those recipes are good for everyone! Maybe another time you could include one heart healthy recipe. I'd love to see how you modify recipes to be very tasty and very good at the same time! If anyone can do it, I know you can. Thanks for considering.
Hi Mandy! That chicken dinner is on the menu for next week followed by those burgers! Mmm yummy can’t wait. Love the bloopers as always 😂. Also want to know your secret for staying so slim with all that good cooking you do. Have a wonderful weekend 😉
I’ve made the chicken recipes for 30 yrs. It’s one of our favorites. I sometimes use boneless chicken breast and will switch apricot preserves for the cranberries for a little change. I also par it with rice so we can pour some of the sauce over the rice. It’s a wonderful dish. ❤️ Either is great with pork chops too!
Yes! I have been making it for 25 years. I got the recipes from a co worker who said it's been a family favorite of theirs. I wonder where it came from now ? Lol
Just made this subbie supper! It was incredible! It’s easily now in our top five favourites ~ it’s THAT good! 😍 Thanks for sharing Mandy (and thanks to Lauren!!)
Mandy, this is why you need the Kitchenaid mixer. You can use it to mix up your burger meat! Or meatloaf, meatballs, etc. I've even used mine to make homemade chorizo
For the last two thanksgivings, I’ve made a Turkey breast in the crock pot with very similar ingredient to Lauren’s chicken. Orange juice, whole cranberry sauce, and a packet of onion soup. It is incredible!
Those burgers look delicious! Years ago there was a recipe similar to the chicken dish called Catalina chicken. I think it was from Kraft. It was a bottle of Catalina dressing, a small jar of apricot jam and a pack of onion soup mix and chicken breast. Baked in the oven served over rice. It was good, reminded me of sweet and sour chicken.
We made the Lauren's Indian Chicken tonight and it was amazing Thank you Mandy and Lauren, but I used LAY'S Sour Cream and Cheddar chip to make the mash potatoes as seen on SAM THE COOKING GUY.
Sometimes you can look at a recipe and think, OMG that sounds terrible! But when a recipe is offered and taste tested with positive reactions, you begin to think it's worth a try. I've recently seen a similar recipe made with Catalina dressing. I finally bought some dressing to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing!
So crazy! I was literally going to send you this recipe so many times! We call it cranberry chicken! We use all of the same ingredients, but instead of the creamy French we use Western’s French dressing 👍🏻 so funny to see someone else with the same recipe! We also serve it with mashed potatoes made with a block of cream cheese and 8oz of top the tater mixed in. Pour the sauce over and it’s phenomenal 👌🏻👌🏻
I love all of your recipes and videos. They are educational and entertaining which is the best duo. As I was sitting down to do my meal plan this week I decided to have a week of Mandys recipes! This week we are going to try : chipotle meatloaf, bacon green beans, lemon chicken thighs, the brown rice, and the sloppy joe casserole. I am sure they will all be fantastic!
Hey Mandy. I'm definately trying the Ranch Cheeseburgers & the Subbie supper (might rename it to French Cranberry Chicken) 😉 Thank you so much! Love your videos & recipes!!! 💗
I was having a very rough day & then I see a new video from you up & I feel better. Going to be trying the Indian chicken for sure :) I do believe the burger bloopers had to be the best bloopers to date. thank you Mandy, Steven & Cole for making me smile today!
The chicken with the cranberry sauce the dressing and the onion soup mix because it doesn't have cheese in it. Because my husband will not eat cheese but he doesn't do dairy.
Making two of these this week thank you Mandy! Me and my 4 year old watch your videos when the notification pops up! I look forward to your videos I'm a stay at home mom I love to cook for my family and teach my children to follow the Lord and I make my hubby watch your videos with me, (even though he has no place in the kitchen lol) y'all have become a part of our family ❤️ God bless 🙏
Oh my I love the bloopers 😂😂 y’all are too funny! Loved the recipes. At first when you were mixing Lauren’s Chicken dressing/sauce, I was like 🤔.. but seeing yalls reactions, I will be going to get the ingredients this week! 😄
Coming back a week later to comment on this video saying that subbie supper Indian chicken was absolutely amazing!!!!!! My husband and I both had 2 servings, my daughter loved it and my mom came over the next day and ate my leftovers and said it was phenomenal! 😍
Wow wee. Three delicious meals! The chili and then the burgers n top it off with the .Indian chicken, six thumbs up. Your bloopers are hysterical. Thanks for sharing an awesome video. Have a fantastic and blessed weekend.
I used to make that last recipe with the cranberry sauce for my family. My kids loved it! The only difference is that I used congealed cranberry sauce and Chicken tenders. I cooked it in a crockpot...The recipe was given to me many many years ago by a friend and it was called crockpot cranberry chicken and we served it over rice or noodles… I’m so glad you did this recipe because I haven’t made this in many years and I had forgotten about it. I want to Cook it for my grandkids now…Great video!!
I am happy to have the chance to go back and watch some videos that I hadn’t yet seen. Mandy you are so gifted. Thank you so much for taking the time and hard work to minister to us! I’m going to make this Chicken 🐔
We've been making this chicken dish for years except I use the redder french dressing (brand name is Western) and it is one of our favorites. We cal it Cran-French chicken. Glad you guys like it too!
I plan on making Lauren’s chicken and your Brussels sprouts this week end. Looks delicious. I started following you a few months ago. Fellow South Carolinian here 🌴 you’ve got a great channel and a great family!
I've made the Indian chicken dish exactly like that before, but I used Catalina dressing. The recipe is one of my church cookbooks that i have.. Its delicious! And super easy
I'm glad that I checked to see if I watched this yet because it showed that I checked the thumbs down. I would never give you a thumbs down. Your my favorite Utube page. Everything looked really good. ❤👍
I made 1/2 of this recipe today because I don't need a huge casserole of it. WOW! So very good and ridiculously easy! Ate it with cauliflower rice. Thanks for the recipe! Love your videos!
Enjoyed. Hope you got your oven out of the chicken..lol. I have to admit the subbie supper I was not going to try but after watching everyone enjoy it especially Cole liking it , Im going to be brave and try it, My son just turned 23 and is picky so Im trusting Cole for my decision on this one. Great job Mandy!
All of these recipes look too good to have to choose.....I will see what I have to buy to cook....might have what it takes to cook that chicken...it looks delicious!!!! Thanks Mandy ...love your family and your recipes and videos!!!
I was thinking about grilling burgers for lunch today...we finally get a beautiful day here in Ohio...my husband and I love the frozen burgers from Sam’s club! 😃 my friends and I are getting together tonight to play Catan. Happy Friday! 🍔♥️
Like you Mandy. I thought that Indian Chicken sounded so weird. But last night I gave it a try- my husband's eating left overs now and I'm jealous!! It's so Good!!!! I'm so glad I tried it. Will make it often. Thank you to Lauren and to you for sharing this recipe

I also make the subbie supper. I let it marinade for a while before cooking. Sometimes I also cut up the chicken into bite size pieces before cooking. Another variation is to use Russian dressing. I found this recipe in a church cookbook!!
Hey neighbor!! (I live just across the state line in Union County NC). I watch your channel ALL THE TIME!! I’ve tried a lot of the recipes and they have all been great. I made Lauren’s Indian Chicken last night and it was AWESOME. The ingredients were a combination I never would have thought would be good together but they were delicious! Thanks for all the great recipes. I always look forward to y’all’s videos. Say meow to Gracie Lou. 🐈
I have done the cranberry sauce, onion mix, and jar of chili sauce for YEARS over a brisket flat. Baked in low oven until tender. Chill meat separate from sauce over night and slice thin. Cook down sauce if you want and use that stick blender to smooth out sauce. Rewarm meat with some broth and sauce. Until heated through. Mercy it’s SOOOO good.
When I was working full time I would use the crockpot to make the sub supper, however I used apricot jam, Russian dressing and Lipton onion soup mix. Very good also, give it a try someday. I will be using this recipe also. Thanks for another great week. My favorites are the bloopers ! 🤣
I am trying the French cranberry chicken tonight...for the first time. I can't wait. When I first saw you making it...I thought, this sounds ridiculous. Then I saw your reactions. I hope to send you some rave reviews ‼️ Thanks so much for your great service and content ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Cole's reaction is mind blowing. He is so "off camera". I surely respect this dish after his reaction.
I am the voice for gracie and she says if you didn't film giving me cheese, then it didn't happen. Lol
That is so funny🤣
I turned on this video and my 2 y/o said, "Hey! It's Mandy!" We love watching your channel together! ♥️

I do the French dressing, apricot preserves, and Lipton soup
Our favorite we call it sticky chicken.

Why am I so mesmerized by the cheese going through that grater?🤣 Mandy, your accent was the best with "Friiiiies on the siiiide." I love it. 💗
My 20 year old son has started watching you. I'm such a happy mama.

I love Gracie and your interactions with her!! It always makes me laugh 😂 “tell them you already had cheese, don’t lie” Have a good weekend

I have been OBSESSED with Poblanos lately! Just this week I made your stuffed poblanos from a couple weeks ago and a cheddar poblano chicken dish! Love them! I suppose I'll have to try this chili now! 😉🤤
I make my cornbread like my mother in law showed me.... self rising cornmeal, yellow, mayonnaise, dukes, eggs and milk. That's it. I don't measure, it's however it looks, put it in an iron skillet with melted butter and cook it on 350° for about 30mins. It always turns out amazing.
If you turn a gas grill on and char the pablano pepper then let it sweat for about 10 minutes in a bag they are easy to rub the skin off by rubbing it under running water and it gives them amazing flavor.
I never would have considered this type of Chicken dish if I hadnt witnessed this video. I will have to give this a try. I suspect it would be great on rice too.
Love your sense of humor!
God bless all here.
Five stars ***** ! I can hardly wait to try the chorizo chili, the Indian Chicken, and the Brussels sprouts! Whoa! Amazing! Thanks for sharing these great recipes! Blessings and greetings from central Florida!
Hope you enjoy them, Bonnie! ❤️
I'm not sure which one I will try first. I keep forgetting to buy brussel sprouts. Love the outtakes. The look on Cole's face peaking behind his Dad's shoulder was funny. Not a fan of cranberries but you have me thinking about trying that recipe. Hope you all have a nice weekend.
I'm coming for that subbie supper! It looks so bomb and the reactions from you guys are priceless. 🤯😋
Love the chicken recipe.
I would never put those ingredients together but they work. WOW
Thanks for sharing.
I bought all the ingredients for the chicken and cranberry sauce excetera. I'll leave the comment when I make it. Love all your recipes that adjust basic things and delicious
Yum .. Did I say Yum .. Everything looks delish ! I don't like cranberry sauce but I even think I would like that .. ' oven in the chicken' 😋
I also make the subbie supper. I let it marinade for a while before cooking. Sometimes I also cut up the chicken into bite size pieces before cooking. Another variation is to use Russian dressing. I found this recipe in a church cookbook!!
Quinoa is one of my favorite foods, and that salad looks great!
I love y’all! Your videos always bring a smile to my face and I’m SO trying Lauren’s chicken this week. Thanks! ♥️
Aww 🥰 thank you so much for the sweet words. Your kindness brings a smile to me! Hope you enjoy the chicken! ❤️

I ❤ brussel sprouts. I make mine with cumin seeds maple syrup , shallots and whole grain dijon mustard.
When I was working full time I would use the crockpot to make the sub
supper, however I used apricot jam, Russian dressing and Lipton onion soup mix. Very good also, give it a try someday. I will be using this recipe also. Thanks for another great week. My favorites are the bloopers ! 🤣
Gracie, did your momma really give you some cheese? I’m sure she did ! Love seeing you and your sweet family and all the delicious meals!❤️❤️
Tried the Spicy Chorizo Chili tonight, oh goodness, so good! Thanks for sharing, Mandy in the Making!
The one with cranberry sauce, will be first!!
