The Subbie Supper reminds me of a recipe my grandmother gave me years ago called Russian Chicken. It was made with bone in chicken, a package of onion soup mix, Russian dressing and 1 jar apricot jam/preserves. It took me years to be able to find the nerve to try it. It sounded so weird but it is wonderful!

Your lovely family is such a bright, beautiful ray of light in an increasingly fractured and chaotic world. It’s so encouraging to see people who genuinely love, respect, and support each other; who weather hard storms with deep faith; who know how to laugh and have fun; who keep the main thing the MAIN thing; and who have not forsaken the time-honored tradition of gathering around the supper table each evening, not only to share sustenance, but to be together. There is no price tag on time (consistently) spent together.
I look forward to every video, and my family is trying Lauren’s chicken tonight! Keep shining! You are brighter than you know!!

🦃21 years ago a coworker made the most delicious leftover Turkey recipe after Thanksgiving. She said she put the leftover Turkey, 1 can of Cranberry dressing, and 1 cup of orange juice with 1 envelope of Lipton onion soup mix in the crock pot. It just warmed all day on low. It was so amazing.

Just made Lauren’s Indian chicken… I was very skeptical about the cranberries French dressing and onion soup mix. Don’t think I would’ve tried it if I hadn’t seen the reaction from your son and your husband standing and clapping for it they were right!! Had a better flavor even the next day! Thanks for taking a chance with that one it was great!!

We all LOVE the chicken cranberry recipe. I have been making it for 25 years. A coworker gave the recipe to me, she said it and been a family favorite of theirs. You can add French , Catalina, Western, Dorothy salad dressing. I have seen some recipes like this that have apricot jam instead of cranberries. The recipe is probably at least 30 years old. Maybe older ... Lol.

The chicken recipe is very similar to Russian Chicken which Traci B makes quite often. It has chicken, russian dressing, onion soup mix and apricot preserves. She serves it over rice. I think you could serve Lauren's chicken over rice too.

Mandy, love your channel. Would you consider including 1 diabetic meal every so often? Even if your viewers are not diabetic, those recipes are good for everyone! Maybe another time you could include one heart healthy recipe. I'd love to see how you modify recipes to be very tasty and very good at the same time! If anyone can do it, I know you can. Thanks for considering.

I’ve made the chicken recipes for 30 yrs. It’s one of our favorites. I sometimes use boneless chicken breast and will switch apricot preserves for the cranberries for a little change. I also par it with rice so we can pour some of the sauce over the rice. It’s a wonderful dish. ❤️ Either is great with pork chops too!

Those burgers look delicious! Years ago there was a recipe similar to the chicken dish called Catalina chicken. I think it was from Kraft. It was a bottle of Catalina dressing, a small jar of apricot jam and a pack of onion soup mix and chicken breast. Baked in the oven served over rice. It was good, reminded me of sweet and sour chicken.

I used to make that last recipe with the cranberry sauce for my family. My kids loved it! The only difference is that I used congealed cranberry sauce and Chicken tenders. I cooked it in a crockpot...The recipe was given to me many many years ago by a friend and it was called crockpot cranberry chicken and we served it over rice or noodles… I’m so glad you did this recipe because I haven’t made this in many years and I had forgotten about it. I want to Cook it for my grandkids now…Great video!!

So crazy! I was literally going to send you this recipe so many times! We call it cranberry chicken! We use all of the same ingredients, but instead of the creamy French we use Western’s French dressing 👍🏻 so funny to see someone else with the same recipe! We also serve it with mashed potatoes made with a block of cream cheese and 8oz of top the tater mixed in. Pour the sauce over and it’s phenomenal 👌🏻👌🏻

If you turn a gas grill on and char the pablano pepper then let it sweat for about 10 minutes in a bag they are easy to rub the skin off by rubbing it under running water and it gives them amazing flavor.

Hey neighbor!! (I live just across the state line in Union County NC). I watch your channel ALL THE TIME!! I’ve tried a lot of the recipes and they have all been great. I made Lauren’s Indian Chicken last night and it was AWESOME. The ingredients were a combination I never would have thought would be good together but they were delicious!
Thanks for all the great recipes. I always look forward to y’all’s videos. Say meow to Gracie Lou. 🐈

I actually made this in the crockpot yesterday from Jennifer from a Country Life. It is so good! I am glad you made it in the oven so I can do it either way.

I make my cornbread like my mother in law showed me.... self rising cornmeal, yellow, mayonnaise, dukes, eggs and milk. That's it. I don't measure, it's however it looks, put it in an iron skillet with melted butter and cook it on 350° for about 30mins. It always turns out amazing.
