She wants her to have a job and be successful, and not take a gamble on a career that probably won't pan out. She took the time to make plans with her sister and follow through. She's the one getting ditched here. Keep in mind, that Mary's character in the beginning is basically hibernating in the dark after an all nighter. She's bent out of shape and distant towards her own family. Her sisters comparison is completely fair. She may have been a little harsh towards her, but what do you expect from your blood? If they aren't honest with you, they aren't doing you any favors. I gotta point out too, ditching your friends and family who have made the time and arranged to do things with you, even in the pursuit of your 'passions', is a selfish action. That's why she's depressed in the first place.

I think the stranger is a metaphor..She couldn't find her voice n she has troubled relationships..She went to park .The stranger represents her mind..His stuck leg is her skills and bicycle is the burden of her current emotional problems..In the park she gets some peace and has a self talk..They start singing means her concentration returns ..She leaves the stranger with leg stucked represents we have to live life with the burden of some problems but we must not stuck our whole life..Problems are just the distractions or obstacles ..It's up to you whether you get stuck / distracted and become irritable sad etc or you focus on your goal and get positivity to live happily...Lessen the burden

Not the musical side Lol although those can happen out in the real world. It sucks when every stranger treats you like you're invisible, unless a forced interaction occurs (service workers, cashiers, customers, ect.) I wish everyone would be kind and friendly to strangers, I'm still living down my retail years in Texas:/
