    Here’s the backstory on this convo: Tony Mirra was trying to get Donnie killed by telling the bosses that he made $250K on drug deals and didn’t kick the money back up. Sonny Black and Lefty had to represent Donnie and defend him in 3 of these sit downs in which they won all three. If they lost any of the sit downs, Donnie would of been sent for and killed. On the tapes, Donnie asks Left to repeat himself numerous times for future court case evidence.

    When Mirra got out of jail, Brasco had since become close with Ruggiero and was working under him. Mirra argued that Brasco belonged to him, not Ruggiero. Mirra took the issue right to the top and had several meetings over the Donnie Brasco situation. In the end, Ruggiero won and Donnie Brasco belonged to him. At one of the meetings, Mirra accused Brasco of stealing $250,000 but Pistone was judged innocent.

From what I remember, Rocky was an undercover FBI. But I never read any more about why he tried to set up "Donnie", or if he really did. After that accusation in the books, nothing more was said. I remember him saying in an interview that he has a few ex-cop friends watching out for him now, so I assume that means he's out of protection but I might just be interpreting it wrong.

    I don't think people realize how much is potentially on the line here. The undercover agent could have lost his life over these accusations, as well as Rocky and possibly Lefty as well. I do not know whatever to happened to this Rocky guy, who was also an undercover agent, but I do know that he started a lot of trouble for Donnie. I would really like to know why. The fact that he got out alive, if he even did, is amazing to me. If he did, then I would imagine that he would have been disciplined by the FBI or Pistone himself, for almost getting him killed. Undercover agents are supposed to protect one another, not make false accusations that could potentially get one of them killed. I mean think about it. Someone in this situation is lying, and that is grounds for a good "whacking" where many of these guys are concerned. It would not surprise me to learn that the undercover agent Rocky had something bad happen to him. I'm sure that the information is available somewhere, but I've never heard Pistone mention anything about this guy or what happened to him.

      Those accusations weren't cooked up by Rocky (whatever his real name was) - that was all Mirra's work! ALL OF IT - TO THE LAST WORD!! Honestly - I don't even believe that "Rocky" EVEN KNEW at the time that Donnie Brasco was a fed - this operation was so secret that in the whole FBI there was probably no more than 10 people who knew that Donnie was an agent, and EVEN THEM DIDN'T HAVE THE "WHOLE PICTURE" - JUST GLIMPSES!... Anyway - fed or not - "Rocky" had NO VOICE HERE - as DONNIE HAD NO VOICE HERE EITHER. This was NOT between "Rocky" and "Donnie". This was ALL AND ONLY BETWEEN Sonny & Lefty on ONE SIDE and Tony Mirra ON THE OTHER - PERIOD! When they say (or rather when Lef says) "Rocky said this or that" IN FACT he's stating: "TONY MIRRA SAID THIS OR THAT"... THE WARS ARE BETWEEN CAPO'S - NOT THEIR UNDERLINGS...

      Fuhgetaboutit!! There was a scene where Sonny comes in and shows us his new car, telling me and Tony Ray Rossi to come out and see it.We go out see it and slip each other five saying ,marone!!, what a fucking car!!,the director loved it, we shot it wearing two different outfits .One of the wiseguy advisers told the director, listen these guys are wiseguys, not jazz musicians ,they don't slip each other five, so it was cut to just, Sonny coming in shaking a set of car keys and taking Al to the airport to get the Lion they stole for him..

    • @SuperKoreanzombie
      @SuperKoreanzombie 8 лет назад +1

      Cal callie,
      You've been watching too many mob movies! Back in the 60s/70s the mob was the biggest heroine importer outside of the Columbians (well they dealt more in cocaine). Nobody hated drugs- nobody gets killed for being a drug dealer as long as u share the proceeds. What gets u killed is IF u get arrested for drugs..... Again not because drugs is a bad thing, rather, the long sentence will potentially make u a government stooge

    • @SuperKoreanzombie
      @SuperKoreanzombie 8 лет назад +1

      Livingwater Freelygiven
      Yes, exactly. French connection actually... biggest myth that the mob doesn't deal drugs. All the bosses did on a wholesale basis. They just didn't like the lower level guys doing it due to the potential long sentences thus turning informant.
