    Welcome back for another weekly video! ❤️❤️❤️ This week we're simulating on a world generated by the Fantasy World Engine generator you can download for free over on the Discord! It's an Earthlike climate but with many small continents and archipelagos!
    I made a tiny improvement to the simulator in this video, but I'm still not expecting to make serious changes again till July at the latest. Real life work is hitting me hard right now.. 😩
    But, life or no life, viewers or no viewers, I'm doing my best to keep up weekly videos rather than go on a long hiatus like in previous years. Y'all are the reason I'm still working at this and keeping the videos coming is the least I can do. 💪
    As always, thank you so much for watching, liking, and subscribing!!! ❤️

    Vellenator originally existed on the eastern side of the southeast continent, got conquered by Galilea and following empires, gained independence, then went on a mass world conquest.

    My prediction for the Vellenetorian Empire: after the death of Jebosedi IV, from 6098-6155 the Empire will slowly fall by peacefully giving up land by giving it to surrounding nations to granting independence to those lands and the only evidence of its massive empire which spanned more than half the world will be the tiny islands it still holds, much like Britain in our world.
    There’s also the possibility of a worldwide collapse from this empire and about a third of the population dies out in a matter of a couple decades which leads to a loss of progress for civilization by a few hundred years.

      Cool, I can totally see either happening! ❤

    It seems as though there's always some land on your maps that's never colonized. Why is that?

      Some climates are just too uninhabitable. Overall, I don't want too much land to get settled because it slows down the simulation too much. Once modernization (white tech on the tech bar) hits nations who are modernizing can colonize wilderness, but they may not get to all of it before the simulation ends, and some places like the polar icecaps are set to just be unable to be settled ever. Hope that explains it! 👍

    Why does the simulation slow down after awhile?

    • @FWHSimulator
      @FWHSimulator  14 дней назад +1

      These videos are not live recordings. The simulator exports still frames which I combine together into these videos. I've made it so the years tick by faster earlier on because not as much happens during those centuries as the later ones.
      That said, the simulator itself also slows down the more tiles and people are being simulated. On my end, in the final centuries a single year can take as much as 10 seconds to simulate. Which is why I make these videos instead of just livestreaming everything 😂

    Why get coasts colonized so fast?

    • @FWHSimulator
      @FWHSimulator  14 дней назад +1

      I forgot the details and would have to look at the code to see exactly how it worked. Part of it is just that it's easier for populations to spread along coasts because there's a sea-travel mechanic for stuff like that. Another part is that I've intentionally buffed coastal spread to try and ensure that most of the world's continents get at least some settled presence after the first thousand years or so.
      Hope that clears things up a bit!
