Nice video. We just bought a used 2017 4Runner and it came with one of these from the previous owner. I had no idea it had a remote start and trunk release which was a really nice thing to find out. I have one question that I don't seem to be able to find an answer to - is there a way to turn off the loud high pitched sound when you lock/unlock the car?
Nice Video, I have a question. Is there a way to set the alarm with a Perimeter around the vehicle. I’m looking for an alarm that will inform me if someone gets in close proximity to my vehicle. Also if someone breaks the glass. Can this alarm be set for these two things ??
I don't think it has a perimeter setting. But it does listen inside . If a glass is broken, or if someone hits the glass too hard, the alarm will sound. Also, the keyfob will also notify you. It covers someone bumping your car, glass, hood open, door, etc. Thanks for watching!
No, no subscription. I read there is a subscription if you want to start your car from anywhere in the world. However, the alarm and remote start is free. It works pretty far. I haven't tried a mile, but in buildings, 10th floor, looking out the window, the remote start, alarm and keyfob talk with each other. Thanks for watching!
@@ThatRed4Runner i have the same kinda factory key fob as you and my local shops telling me i need a db3 to run the viper 5706 so i was just wondering if its really needed and what happens if u dont
hello love the video, do you know how to switch the Viper over to Automatic Transmission mode becuase I do have a manuel but to turn on the remote start I have to do so much steps just to do the remote start. I have the Viper 7756V Remote Control model.
@@ThatRed4Runner thank you I’ve been doing research for about 3 hours and could not find anything if you do find something please let me know thank you in advance.
Yes! You don't need to use the Viper key fob. It's a preference. The Viper key fob gives you more info in the display; when your car is locked, if the alarm tiggers, and the remote start. If the alarm goes off, you can use the normal key fob to disarm.
Well, the system itself when armed locks all the doors and sets the alarm, when disarmed it unlocks the doors and turns the alarm off. I believe it's built in the system; not a separate thing. Do you have a 4Runner?
I found this: "Depending on the vehicle, the door locks may be controlled by an optional data bus expansion module. If so, no door lock interface wiring is required".
@@acetru7002 Viper 5706V 2-Way. Nothing extra needed. Only "issue" was with the factory key (which unlocks your vehicle) etc. It arms with factory and Viper. However, when remote start is activated, it can't disarm so alarm will sound before SUV starts cause it thinks it's being stolen. SO, when I remote start, I need to disarm, remote start. The doors automatically lock. Even if the doors were unlocked, you cannot drive away because you need key to disarm; SUV engine will die when you press brake to engage gears. Original fob key "alarm" with horn, was NOT disconnected, so it still works; and works with Viper alarm.

Did you need a DB3 module to run this kit?
No, I’m not running it, but the newer Viper alarms have the DB3 built it.
