Pinging Pigeon/Swearing Alex!

  • In an effort to get my nerve back I spent last week building the fences up (this course is around 95-110cm)... Still feeling a bit scared though hence the last minute stops when I loose my legs! Silly really as Pige is on great form when I just relax, ride and commit to the jump! All the self bullying is working though. We went to a show at Cherwell Competition Centre two days after this and the fences looked small (still not allowed helmet cams I'm afraid - boo). We were clear in the 85cm Derby to take third place with an unlucky pole in the 95cm show jumping keeping us just out of the ribbons. Next up is a SJ and XC lesson with Joe MacDonald at Lyneham Heath this Thursday (10.09.15) during which many skinny fences and triple brushes will hopefully be popped in preparation for the Blenheim eventer challenge on the 17th! I hope to upload again on Friday. Thanks as always for watching, liking and commenting :-)

    I have so much respect for the fact you never blame the horse, you are obviously very smart for that :) I hate seeing all these people at the shows saying "Oh, my horse did x so it's his fault". It may not be the rider's fault but it is never the horse's ;)
    Well ridden!

      +Hunter Jumper Cassie We are in the driving seat and supposed to be in possession of higher intellect... Horses might do unexpected things but how we react is the key. I'm not perfect by any means - I get angry sometimes and blame Pigeon. But that feeling always gives way to a sense of guilt that I should have found a better and more intelligent way to deal with whatever Pigeon was doing! Blaming the horse is the easy option :-)

    I really look up to you as a rider. I have only been fully riding for a year and I still get a bit worked up when I am going full tilt. I understand your nerves I look at those jumps you've gone over and feel my own heart rate go through the roof.
    Don't beat yourself up you're doing great.
    you are an inspiration to me and hopefully soon I can show my own videos of riding a very special gelding called Oakley.

    technically, you're doing very well. when I got my new horse max I was jumping almost a meter a ten years old. then I had a massive confidence let down and wouldn't jump anything bigger than a tiny tiny cross pole. now at 12 I've finally got 97% of my confidence back and jumping back at 75 and big spreads. you just have to believe in yourself and image your fantastic future with your horse ahead of you. believe me it works xx

  • @toxiwrites
    @toxiwrites 8 лет назад

    You have such a great attitude about riding. It makes me smile. I love how you praise your horse after nearly every jump as well! It also makes me very happy that you tell yourself that its not the horses fault. I remember one time when I was doing a grid I didn't add enough leg after the bounces and the horse I was riding refused. This year I had over 6 weeks off so I am still trying really hard to build my confidence back up. I hope everything is going better for you! keep up the good work! :D

    This is amazing.
    I'm glad I am not the only believer in old horses jumping a decent height!
    Dusty (my pony) is only 12.3hh and around seventeen or eighteen.
    She's a pinging pony over every jump.
    People bring down our confidence when they say she's too old to jump.
    Yes, aha, maybe, but she still jumps like a five year old!
    Good going xx

      My Ayva is around 25 now, and a couple of years ago was willingly jumping up to 1m30! Not once did she refuse, she absolutely loved her job and you'd think she was so much younger :) If people knew how old Ayv was they'd have a real go at me, but I never forced her to jump anything, she'd happily do it without question. She's retired as a happy hacker now though bless her :) x

    • @anadin56
      @anadin56  9 лет назад +8

      +Emma Downing The refusals are all me being a wimp and taking my leg off... Pige is just doing what she's told. The only problem with having a solid relationship with her is that I can't trick her and pretend I am more confident than I am. She always knows so I have to commit myself and just trust her! Always lovely to hear from you xx

    Was this Village Farms? I'm just wondering because I couldn't see the sign on that jump, but I'm like 99% sure that this is Village Farms. 😂 Anyway, great riding on the jumps! I'm just trotting and doing crossrails. I love your accent. 😂😍 I love the British accents their so cool. :3 I'm so lucky to ride an adorable Shetland pony named Merrylegs. I love her so much, and she's so gentle and kind. But sometimes she can be feisty when she's hungry! After a lesson, I take her back to her stall, usually she would come over and say bye me before I go, but she doesn't do that anymore. 😂 She's just super hungry, yesterday when me and my sister went on a lesson, Merrylegs was a super star! My instructor liked her pace, and I especially liked it. And my instructor also said that my posting was over the moon. Idk what I did, because someone else just had a lesson after her, and she was super thirsty and tired, so we let her relax and gave her some water from the hose. She was falling asleep on the crossties, though. 😂 She was amazingly tired in that lesson, and I'm really proud of her, for being such a super star that day. #Longestcommenthere 😂😂 Sorry for the long comment! I just wanted to inform you guys about my riding and what I do. :) Thanks for suffering and reading so much! x ♡☆
