Alyssa Berti It is blood dripping from Jenny's nose! I think the adrenaline dulled most of the pain at the time but she was pretty sore the next day... eventers have to be tough I guess! Thanks for watching :)
One of my favorite things you do is even when she is doing something she isnt supposed to or doesnt go over the fence, you still 'congratulate' her and say good girl. I find that so nice and rewarding! i love it!
Woah Commentsville!! I have just logged back on after a winter of training to cheer myself up and remember what grass looks like. Thanks so much again Alex for lending me your camera for this! (*This is Penny's rider Jenny typing here!) - Penny has now been out on a few more occasions and is getting a little braver each time! (touch wood my nose hasn't taken any more batterings!) Can't wait for the new season to begin!
I love you and your attitude and how you do not get frustrated however many things go wrong, you just brush yourself off, get back on and see it as a learning experience. I laughed hard at some points, you are what true good riders are made of.
Thank you Maria! She has been amazing over the five years I've owned her... Taken me from being a nervous rider just getting into it after 15 years off to where we are today! :-)
I love watching your videos. They give me so much confidence - watching you fall off, brush it off like it's no big deal and then get straight back on with tons of positivity and encouraging the horse. I am trying to have that same attitude towards falls!
Hello Everyone! Thanks for all the comments - I thought I ought to log on and prove I am ok!! :) A good Pony Club upbringing ensured I got back on before the adrenaline wore off!! ;) - We had plenty of first aiders around *(including myself), so I was in good hands. You should have seen my face the next day!!! All better now ready for the Riding Club dressage on Sunday :) For a bit of background - Penny is 4.5 years old and hasn't ever seen 'proper' XC fences before, so a painted castle was a bit scary!!! I am chuffed to bits with how she handled the whole thing, no doubt Pigeon and Penny will be reunited for more adventures soon!
Thanks for adding some background Jenny. I think Penny shows great eventing promise - she just to see a bit more of life and we can work on this with Auntie Pige. Anyone who has anything to do with horses is advised to to a first aid course! Looking forward to seeing you both in your dressage pants on Sunday :)
I've followed you from the beginning and I've noticed how much more confident you are in your own ability when riding fences, I also have always loved hearing how pleasant you are all the time, always encouraging and vocal...
OMG I love your horse, I am only nine and I have a really bichy mare, she will kick, rear,Buck, rodeo anything to get me off she love jumping but when we do it in an open place she will take away a stride! Thanks to a unhappy fitting saddle she had a really bad back, it is fine now but she just has a memory of it! She is only 4 years old so she is a lot of trouble the riding school we bought her off,of Sudated her so she was really good when we went to meet her. Your videos really inspire me and keep up the good work and videos, i am really hoping I will get a go pro for Christmas so I can do videos like you! I love your vids and plz can u subscribe to my channel and you will se my daple iron grey mare and you could give me some advise!! 💙 Thankyou xx
This was awesome! Love the audio commentary it just makes it more fun to watch (plus, they are really funny to listen to). I'm liking eventing more each time! Keep up with the videos. They are truly thrilling to watch. Cheers from Panama!
I really enjoy your videos it helps me know that I'm not the only person that falls and makes mistakes you have a very brave horse and I wish you well for the future I look forward to your upcoming videos
You have an insane amount of confidence in you and your horse, many Riders after the first fall of the day lack cofindence, you on the other hand hahah nearly break ya nose but get back on haha Great rider :) x
Awww poor Penny haha that was really rough. She obviously trusts Jenny a lot. Seeing your videos really makes me want to do xc. Maybe someday I'll have the opportunity. :)
I love how when Pigeon doesn't do something right, you go back and make her do it. That is how you really need to train your horse, or else they'll think they don't have to do the jumps anymore.
Shiloh569 Hahaha.. only totally. Such a baby response to seeing xc the first time. Bless her for trusted her human so much... shame she jumped her out of the saddle though! x
I've always wanted to try cross country like this but I've always been either riding saddleseat in the ring or slowly stepping over logs on the trail haha. Beautiful horses though and even though there was a few falls, you are both great riders!
Do more videos like this xx your my favourite channel to watch xc raws and stuff on xx I love helmet cam xc videos just as much as I love doing xc xx please post more like this xx
When you take your headcam to cross country schooling, do you record the whole thing and edit clips out or stop and start the gopro? Was just wondering as I'm taking mine xc schooling at the weekend and didn't know which would be easiest☺️
I love your videos soooooooooooooo much ... my pony used to jump in the championships but now he is older, he has found the cheeky side of himself. He sometimes refuses and sometimes LEAPS over jumps .... A bit like pigeon 💦
I'm trying to find a lift to that one. All the normal friendly peeps that would take me have to work, be somewhere else, don't have their towing cars etc etc.... Boo :(
Sadly not! I am first aiding at our area dressage qualifier... good I had some practise while filming this video! Are you competing at West Wilts? Not a venue I have been to... yet! :)
Wow that looks like it hurt! Glad she got back in! Gyosy and I did a show sat-sun. This time it was 2ft, no more cross rails! I know it may it be a big deal to you but it is for me because she is not the easiest when it comes to shows. Saturday we did hunter and got 2firsts, 2secs and res champion and Sunday we did jumper and got 2 secs(the other two rounds I got eliminated) and res champion again. As you can see by my profile pic, she jumped a scary plank jump which made keep happy! Didn't back off once! I will have a vid up soon! Thanks
Hey Alex, how and where do you place your GoPro on your helmet? PS i love your videos PPS can you please make a video on how you put your GoPro on your helmet
That's a great idea Emma! I seem to spend a lot if time helping friends when they buy gopros :) I have mine on a stretchy strap attached to my helmet. You can get them from eBay for less than £10! Thanks for watching :)
That was my third trip and we finally did most of the more challenging fences! The first time we went I was hung over, the second time Pige was all excitable and tired herself before even starting to jump! So it was fun to go and both be in decent form for once! Sorry to make you feel queasy - I did put a warning in the description ;-) Jenny will heal in time and hopefully Penny will get over the last minute giant cat leap approach to xc!
Have you ever gotten mad at Pigeon when he does something wrong? Not to be rude, I'm just asking. I don't get mad, but I understand someone who would get frustrated, without hurting their horse or others. BTW, I llllllllllllllloooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee your videos and your always so gentle and nice. Please comment back!!!!
XxanimalgirlxX 150 Jenny was fine (just a bit sore). She has done a great job with Penny over winter and she is jumping much more fluidly now! Thanks for watching :)
+A Horse Called Pigeon Hi alex iam only 9 but i love watching your vids pigeon is so good , i have a horse just like her! Oh and are you going to blenim? 😊☺💙
I love how you praise your horse, when she refuses you don't whip her, you try again. You are a true equestrian to me
Haha "Did you have to read it?" :D Love this! What a positive rider and horse !
Alyssa Berti It is blood dripping from Jenny's nose! I think the adrenaline dulled most of the pain at the time but she was pretty sore the next day... eventers have to be tough I guess! Thanks for watching :)

Marnie Gray loool! It looks scary really yeah haha
You are what every good rider should be! It's a pleasure to watch your videos.
One of my favorite things you do is even when she is doing something she isnt supposed to or doesnt go over the fence, you still 'congratulate' her and say good girl. I find that so nice and rewarding! i love it!
Is was really funny when you said "did you have to read it?" to her😹
Some great jumping❤️
Must get her some more library books out ;-)
Woah Commentsville!! I have just logged back on after a winter of training to cheer myself up and remember what grass looks like. Thanks so much again Alex for lending me your camera for this! I love hearing you talk to your horse and you sound like you are having fun riding even when your horses are poopheads! ♡♡ :)
I am re-watching all the videos and they make me miss Pigeon so much. She will forever live on
"did you have to read it?" love it xx
I love you and your attitude and how you do not get frustrated however many things go wrong, you just brush yourself off, get back on and see it as a learning experience. I laughed hard at some points, you are what true good riders are made of.
Oh, I get plenty frustrated sometimes... That's horses for you! Thanks for watching :)
You have the sweetest horse. She looks like she loves to jump and looks very eager and charming.
Thank you Maria! She has been amazing over the five years I've owned her... Taken me from being a nervous rider just getting into it after 15 years off to where we are today! :-)
Max Wetzel Thank you for watching! She is 16 so old enough to know better and young enough not to care :-)
+A Horse Called Pigeon wow I guess we all have to face our fears

Safety Stirrups U wont Drag
My horse is 27 and hates jumping with anyone else riding him. He will only jump when im riding him 😅
Grace Robinson cute!!!
I love watching your videos. They give me so much confidence - watching you fall off, brush it off like it's no big deal and then get straight back on with tons of positivity and encouraging the horse. I am trying to have that same attitude towards falls!
I love the way you speak to her while you ride and let her know that everything is alright. Great riding!

She looks like she loves it, ears forward all the way! Those fish jumps are quite scary in fairness to her haha ;)
I've followed you from the beginning and I've noticed how much more confident you are in your own ability when riding fences, I also have always loved hearing how pleasant you are all the time, always encouraging and vocal...
Merryn Matthews She is a funny one sometimes! Thanks so much for watching and subbing :D x
+ a horse called pigeon Is your gopro (or what make it is) waterproof?😊☺💙
+corinna storey I have one and the case it goes in is waterproof when it's strapped to your helmet :-)
OMG I love your horse, I am only nine and I have a really bichy mare, she will kick, rear,Buck, rodeo anything to get me off she love jumping but when we do it in an open place she will take away a stride! When you take your headcam to cross country schooling, do you record the whole thing and edit clips out or stop and start the gopro? Was just wondering as I'm taking mine xc schooling at the weekend and didn't know which would be easiest☺️

Those jumps look so cool!
It was a lot of fun, and Squidge was on top form! Love that little horse . Thanks so much for watching :)

Caitlin Wootton Miss Piggy was on great form! I can't blame her for those two little stops - I was asking a lot early on is the session ;-)
Omg that last fall, I had the exact same thing happen! Well ridden btw ❤️
I love your videos soooooooooooooo much ... my pony used to jump in the championships but now he is older, he has found the cheeky side of himself. He sometimes refuses and sometimes LEAPS over jumps .... A bit like pigeon 💦
i love your style of teaching the horse
:D
i love how you ask her to jump in a nice way
and too bad on the falls :(
Yes it's a very nice course as well. Are you also going to the crown farm ODE next weekend?
I'm trying to find a lift to that one. All the normal friendly peeps that would take me have to work, be somewhere else, don't have their towing cars etc etc.... Boo :(
How did West Wilts go btw? xx

Well done! R u doing west wilts this weekend? Brutish riding club?
Sadly not! I am first aiding at our area dressage qualifier... good I had some practise while filming this video! Are you competing at West Wilts? Not a venue I have been to... yet! :)

A Horse Called Pigeon thank you I will do that!
This is so cool it's like riding simulator!!
Think crown farm might be a new favourite of mine!! Pigeon looks fab, but jennys nosebleed might have made me feel a bit faint ;)
That was my third trip and we finally did most of the more challenging fences! The first time we went I was hung over, the second time Pige was all excitable and tired herself before even starting to jump! So it was fun to go and both be in decent form for once! What does XC stand for? I know that SJ is show jumping, im a beginner riding so im still getting used to all this lol :)
Abbi Stuart **** beginner rider I mean haha
Was that blood coming out of your mouth and did that heart it look like it did
When you fell at the end and your camera fell down and it was looking down at you was your nose bleading?
You're so lucky to have these facilities! Are they local to you? The nearest one to me like this is a 50 mile drive!
Did you have to read it? Splendid! 😅
Was Jenny only trotting to the jumps on Penny and how old is Penny love Pigeon by the way xx
You done really well to get back on especially after the nose bleed. It looked like a nasty fall.
Excellent ride 👍👍👍
She's a nice jumper!
How Old is Pigeon? You Are a really Good Rider!
2:00 you are so funny :D
how high are these jumps??
btw nice jumping
She is GORGEOUS!!!!
Was this Penny's first time xc? She seemed a bit spooky. You and Pigeon did amazing as usual! 😂
That fall looked like it hurt
well done for getting back on
Omg are you ok the last fall looked really sore!!! Is penny inexperienced with cross country? You rode very well!!:)
XxanimalgirlxX 150 Jenny was fine (just a bit sore). She has done a great job with Penny over winter and she is jumping much more fluidly now! Thanks for watching :)
