I was pulling for the Cats. This in my eyes was the best Stanley Cup Final in recent memory. What a series, and what a way for Florida to win their First.
A little history, this is the 2nd time in NHL history that a Florida and Alberta team faced off in a Game 7 in the Sunshine State, and the final score being 2-1 going to the Florida team. Last time was 2004 between Tampa Bay and Calgary, and that was a fantastic series.

Florida's Sam Reinhart is another of a long list of players who left/traded from the Buffalo Sabres organization and went on to win a Stanley Cup with another team. This list also includes Jack Eichel (traded to Las Vegas and won in 2023) and Ryan O'Reilly (traded to St. Louis and won in 2019 and the Conn Smythe trophy in that year in the playoffs). This tells you all you need to know about how useless the Sabres organization is in nurturing and developing talent.

A lot of dirtbaggery by the Oilers. Relying on their power play and the officials refusing to assign majors. Note, it was their grinders that provided most of their game deciding goals. They are lucky to get as far as they did. Also, who can honestly say that McDavid the most valuable player in this series??? Bobrovsky was the backbone of this Panthers Team in every series.

Congratz to guys who were getting older on the Panthers and who might not have won a cup at all. If teams begin to emulate your style it will have negative repurcusions for all of the NHL and all its players. Let me please explain this grinding overly physical defensive style leads to three negative factors.1. It is bad for players as the wear and tear and injury it causes will shorten NHL careers 2. It will decrease the excitement for the game as you will have lower scoring outcomes to games which is boring to watch. 3. This will hurt the NHL most of all as ratings will plummet and you will lose over half it not more of your ratings the NHL has fought to obtain, ad revenue will go down and ticket sales will do down and you will see the NHL just not being watched or even cared about. Bonus pt you almost lost to the Oilers who played just as physical and sometimes did even more defensively to prevent and keep puck control. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but no matter teams are figuring out your simple approach to the game and I predict you will lose in the first round of next years playoffs.
