i bought a powerdyne in 2003, it was good while, upgraded the bearings and belt, then got sick and tired of rebuilding it every 3 to 4 months, the BD11-a was not made to last with everyday use, i ordered a XB-1a, it never showed up, here is what i found out while i had it, the head unit makes too much heat, first dyno run, supercharger disconnected and ran NA for a base, 312 at the wheels, connected the supercharger, 9psi of very hot air, 339, it came out like 3 hp per pound of boost, very disappointed, felt scammed, the fix was another 500 bucks, intercooler, piping, clamps, custom mounting brackets and a trip to the exhaust shop to get the piping beveled so it would not slip apart, next dyno tune, 423, came out 13 hp per pound at 8.5psi, i have thought about upgrading to a torqstorm because the head unit is built like the XB-1a gear drive.
Boost response is the problem a lot of piping, not boost loss. It just takes longer for the boost to reach the engine, so the response is slightly lower.
Do you still have ac? When i 1st found torqstorm i said hell yeah because of the price. But when i saw that it was a different system running ac and the price jump im second guessing now
I love my setup from them. I got a 2.65 from griptec I’m waiting to swap on. Was planning on the 2.95 but dyslexia happens. Your setup looks good too
How much more boost did u get?
Great review. Be safe and stay well.
