@TayoAAdetola If you knew how the car was built, then you wouldn't be saying that. Both the Rs7 and Rs6 are also 5000ibs, rimac nevera is fully carbon fiber at 5,100ibs, panamera is at 5,300ibs, C63 at 4,750ibs nothing from now on will weigh less. He's a factual truth in order for the M5 to avoid being heavily taxed it has to increase its weight, so that price continues to stay reasonable. The platform also supports its fully EV variant, so the platform has to undergo chasis stiffening for its rigidity, which also adds weight.
M5CS might be a pure V8. I would do this if I'm BMW, I can then charge 50% more for the CS while making it a lot cheaper to produce, doubling the profit.
CS was a special edition for the f90 generation, there hasn't been or won't be another M5 CS. This generation M5 won't even have a Competition model in fact. It's all you see and you have to live with it, best they can do is maybe shed some weight off with the facelift and give it some power boost, but don't expect a lightweight pure V8 M5 when this car was SPECIFICALLY built with it's hybrid system and BMW is highly and I mean almost certainly unlikely to throw it away in favor of a standard V8
@@ii_dynasty They said that a Competition model was unlikely to come out, I'm guessing a ClubSport model is highly unlikely as well since this car is far too heavy to become a true "CS" or "CSI" or "CSL", although it's cool and fast it's just not light enough to be a ClubSport car
It’s a high-performance saloon car. Those who can afford it don’t care about the weight because no one is tracking big saloon cars. People who track their cars regularly buy the M2 or M4, but they still add a bunch of mods to make them track-suitable.
Everyone's talking about the weight - it's an AWD V8 PHEV. Guess what other car is also an AWD V8 PHEV? The Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. They weigh quite similar, but the M5 is significantly cheaper, yet have very similar performance numbers.
@@tweed0929🤷🏻♂️ I’m not surprised. Why would an empty van be heavier than a V8 with a PHEV battery and AWD? But also, the Porsche did the Nurburgring in 7:24, and it weighs about the same. The engineering makes a difference.

I truly hate those ‘M Performance’ decals. They look shockingly bad on an m135 let alone an M5. They look cheap and nasty and like some sort of aftermarket rubbish.
It does improve the look, but still, the car just doesn't look right for some reason. For me, taillights are the biggest turn off, even tho they kinda messed up the headlights as well.
The good thing is they didnt have to think about downforce as the car weighs as much as a tank anyway, so they could just focus on making it look better
The fact that the predecessor will out perform the present generation speaks volume that bmw did not focus on improving the ///M5 DNA, heavier slower, cannot be better than lighter faster, and I don’t see that cow drifting to go anywhere near the Guinness world record.
I can NOT purchase a car for over 100k and have a aliexpress reverse camera sticking out the boot. Mercedes has found a way to hide that for years now (behind the badge).

Not so bad, but the only decent BMW of 2025 is the great 7 Series: huge 540 cm long and 155 high but classic and innovative, the better BMWs in design was work of Paul Bracq, Klaus Luthe and Ercole Spada, 1975 Series 3, 1981 Series 5, 1982 and 1990 Series 3, maybe the first X6 of 2009, then the abyss

Sorry but it looks horrible and extremely overstylized. The discreet sportiness and elegance of previous models has totally disappeared in actual BMWs.
God, this car is a travesty. BMW claims the carbon M Perf roof will save 66lbs on the M5... HOW? What the hell is the stock roof made of? A normal M Perf carbon roof saves like, 5lbs on an F87 M2Competition, I think even the roof on the giant new G87 is still only a few lbs savings. At least that's what they claimed about the carbon roof on my M2CS (either 5 or 7 lbs less than the standard roof). It might've been 7lbs, but still, not a savings that is strictly necessary or noticeable. BMW must be quoting 66lbs based on a car with a sunroof (?), otherwise I have no idea what they've done to make the standard M5 roof so insanely heavy. You shouldn't be able to save 66lbs from ANY roof, ffs. Yes, BMW is beyond good at hiding the weight while driving, but usually theyre only talking a difference of maybe a few hundred lbs between generations, not over 1000lbs. There's gonna be no hiding that on the new M5, hell, we already know it's not as fast as the previous gen. Even on the new M2 and M4, the 300+ increase for each car is very noticeable, especially at 9-10/10th driving on a track. Not that anyone will be tracking this M5, but people definitely tracked the previous models. I used to have an E39 M5, back when they were still only a few yrs old, and yeah it was heavy compared to others at the time, but by maybe a few 100lbs, and that didnt stop it from being a blast on track (though upgraded brakes were basically mandatory on all M cars back then). There's also no excuse for BMW's ,"this is the best we could do"-attitude towards the new M5. It's just such *lazy* engineering. They could've done something interesting like the new Carrera GTS (not necessarily the same thing, but surely there was a more interesting solution than what we got), but no, instead they just plopped the XM plug-in hybrid system to a sedan and basically called it a day. I seriously hate this current era of cars. It's utterly depressing. I've always planned on keeping my 6spd M2CS since new and I've had my 993 for years, but you always plan on eventually getting something new. Not in this era, though. I can't see any cars that properly pique my interest, outside of things like GT3's. This level of divisiveness cannot be sustainable for the auto industry, every marquee is just doing goofy shit. They're either all-in on EV, or they're playing it like BMW and trying to have a foot in each part of the market, which only serves to dilute the hell out of the brand. Porsche will be the same if they go thru with essentially making everything EV except for the 911. These regulations are killing the industry, and it's not like there's some other industry to replace automotive. The regulations need to move elsewhere, forcing everyone into EV and hybrid crap isn't *really* making much of a dent in any kind of emissions, but it IS forcing cars to become worse and more expensive simultaneously.
no, it doesn’t look good, same as m2… they sell m performance parts and only thing that you get is black plastic and it looks 3x worse than already catastrophic design
Haters won’t like my comment, but this M5 is the best-looking car BMW has made. It’s funny how social media haters cry about BMW losing its DNA.
