I'm a BMW fanboy but the new M5 really doesn't look appealing to me. I really don't mind the weight or the plugin hybrid system as much as I do with the overall aesthetics of the car. The F90 was such a beautiful looking car so for me this new G90 is a visual downgrade. So for this comparison, I'd pick the RS6. It's such a good looking car.

If Ben had had an M5 Touring for a week performing the same duties in the same varied conditions through which the RS6 Performance was apparently flawless would he have felt the same? The M5 hybrid seems a little manic, too large and way overweight to pretend being a track car for quick and seemingly uncomfortable squirts along a B-road. It would be illuminating to see this team do the same test between the M3 Touring and the M5 Touring. Looks are completely subjective. Here we go again with this track bs arguments 🤦🏾♂️. Have you ever drive an SuV like an Escalade or a Truck? The weight is something to really consider and be careful about when you take a corner. Also you didn’t think about the thing people do the most : braking . So an heavier car is more difficult to stop from 60 to 0 , and difficult to manage in corner on daily basis. You don’t need to track it to have to deal with the common physics the weight brings. It’s a sport car , it shouldn’t have this kind of issue. Interesting that it was the saloon variant of the M5 against the RS6. Right result despite that though plus the touring would add even better practicality over the saloon. Anyone who wants a big, fast, luxurious AWD car wants the latest and greatest. I say everyone, I mean the average person who can afford it. For all the patrol heads out there, neither one is a good option. You are much better off with some older cars or smaller cars that will be miles more engaging to drive and faster still. The M5 hasn't been a car enthusiast-oriented car since the one with a V10 in it, with the exception of the previous-gen CS. The Audi was arguably always about posers who were too good for the BMWs and the Mercs. Once again, with the exception of those V10-powered estate cars.

Design and looks of new M5 = 3/10
Subjective for me it’s the first M5 that I give 9/10
Blimey, an ID4 ev weighs 2.03 tons an M5 weighs 2.5 tons?!?! Why all the batteries, whats happening with hydrogen vehicles?
what colour is it plz? Voodo blue?
Everyone love to pick on BMW when all the new cars in the top tier is doing the same smh but carry on every 7 years we get the same complaints😊
This was a BMW sponsored review right? At least that’s what showed up on my screen before the video started. Might explain the result!
RS6, please. It looks better, sounds better, and if I'm going to have a wagon, I may as well be cosseted and pampered a bit more.
What’s up with carwow not having the M5? Are they embargoed or something.. Very strange
I knew these guys were going to choose the M5 over the RS6.
RS6 all day
You guys never pick the RS6 as winner, absolutely no sense to pick this M5 over the RS6
Wait until you guys see the new 3 series youre gonna have a fit
If that car sounds good to you mate then I am afraid you have never heard a good-sounding car, and not to mention that fake noise in the cabin, man its horrendous
M now stands for Massive
The look of the new M5 alone is enough to make me look elsewhere.
😂😂😂 amazes me how people download their bias onto bmw designs ,
Buy one, drive it on a daily. And thank bmw later... 😂😂😂..
One I'm sure of is that most of the people throwing shade can't even afford it
I am a through and through Audi fanboy but currently drive a BMW. I'd consider another one next time before going for an Audi.
RS6 Performance... a formula tried by Audi after the huge success of M CS models... but they didn't get it there..
On the other hand, let's see what Audi can bring on the table before criticising the new M5... 😁🤷♂️
Minute 21:00 you don't even belive that you two are saying
Everyone (including me) makes the same mistake of hating new BMWs. I did the same with the g80 ms …. I now own one.
Man I loved the G80 from the beginning, sold it now to get the new M5, which in my opinion is looking awesome
Thos M5 is DOUBLE the weight of my STi RA. Let that sink in.
That M5 is sick❤❤❤❤!!! Love it🎉🎉🎉
Hate me but I didn’t like the F90, looked super borking and the Interieur wasn’t nice either.
The RS6 looks old and costs a ton more than the new M5.
So the M5 was my decision, I like the design and I don’t care about the weight.. for me the M5 is the ultimate daily driver.
What about range with full tank in bmw m5
Could have just given the RS6 the win since it'll be the last of it and actual it is better
I rather buy a Xiaomi SU7 Max that costs 1/5 of the price and is more equipped, for eg. ventilated heated massage Napa leather seats, camera everywhere , LiDAR, Brembo brakes etc. Now beat that. Don’t even talk abt performance lol.
I wonder why BMW M never did a M7
M5 = First they hate, then they love, then they appreciate! RSx division is dead and beat imo since the M Xdrive came into play...M5 Touring.... RSWho?
Beautiful spec, love it!!
Crazy to think the 2025 m5 is heavier than 2025 x5m 😂. Both are hybrid s68 engine
@@troyjeup2861 that’s not at all the same type of hybrid, it doesn’t add anymore power
The fellas seating position is all wrong. Steering wheel is too close to him so his elbows are stuck in his sides which will reduce the reaction speed and also rotation of his arms if it goes all Pete Tong. It's like the women you see sat on the steering wheel, too close to it
Has ice, which also needs to be plugged in ...... big hassle.
Audi engine placement vs BMW says it all… Audi will push and feel much less enjoyable
No wonder German automakers are struggling.
Im colombia very gooid yuo video thanks
Most people never seen a M5 in person or driven one. All these keyboard warriors ready to judge with all their expertise.
At this point i would go just full electric.2.5 tons is boat
I will be watching thus review tonight
id rather get a f90 lci that is CPO and purchase the extended warranty for 4 years then buy a brand new m5.
The M5 is a great car (a bit of a porker now), but a great car…but at the end of the day I still prefer the RS6. The station wagon (Avant) is such a cool style.
Isn't the F90 lighter than the F10?
Oh God ok we get it. The car put in some weight These RUclips reviewers suck. I mean really suck
I'm I the only one who doesn't care about the weight. Especially if I'm driving it in the city and motorway, mostly? For me, it's about comfort and mileage and fun. BMW needs to improve this. But I think the BMW M3 is better.
I don’t care about the weight, I owned the new M3, drove 40.000km in 8 months and sold it again. It’s a nice car but I definitely prefer a V8 and more space… the M5 is the ultimative daily driver, the RS 6 is nice too but outdated for me
@Planeandcars1980 interesting
He said apparently it’s very heavy lol who let him do review ? You even have to watch the video, it’s obvious he going to choose the M5 even tho everyone else disagrees 😂
Easy solution….buy a previous generation M5 Competition and save some money
If I would buy one I would end up with a second hand car for the price of the new M5 gen. So definitely a new one for me
