Well done you guys on your UK epic - and take heart, Laura - I live alone in BG and have never felt safer! It must feel very strange to be home alone without your babies and your man, but it is also an opportunity to enjoy some ‘you’ time knowing your family are being well-looked after in the UK. Perhaps a chance to do some more of that beautiful wall mural, pamper yourself, get up whenever you want, eat meals that you fancy and that are still actually warm when you sit down to eat them!!😅 Enjoy some well earned peace and quiet, and your beautiful family will be home before you know it!😊❤
@@the_phoenixproject I was alone for 3 months in BG on the village edge, had 2 dogs as well, and I was afraid at first as being on my own, and away from Darren for so long was really daunting. But have to say it was some of the best time lol. I slept better, I lost weight and ate and felt healthier, and I also gained confidence in having to drive again, which I had lost the previous 5-6 years before by not driving at all in BG, and I realised how just much I missed Darren being around.
I hope you feel better soon my dear. You have a good support group in Bulgaria. Take time to read, relax and before you know it, your family will be back home together where you belong. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
We hope everything goes as good as it can! We’re really enjoying Bulgaria, VT is gorgeous, we found the burger bar by pure accident! Delish grub in there ❤
Im glad you all had a safe journey back to UK and of course your safe return Laura to BG. Hopefully everything goes fast and you will be back together very soon. Love you guys xx
So yesterday I realized I haven’t seen a video from you guys in a while and I checked RUclips and TikTok and saw no new videos. Later I go on RUclips and saw this video was posted. I was worried something happened 😢 I’m glad you guys are safe ❤
Nothing to worry about, find a hobby or something you enjoy doing while family is away ... say painting, or writing, or playing an instrument. Enjoy every moment of your life.
Hi, shame you had to go back to U.K. for kid’s visas 😢 what a daft way round seeing that you both are the parents and live here! I also wanted to say I’ve been on my own here for 7 years and never felt unsafe (I don’t even lock my doors) you will be fine❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏 It's more than we have lots of people following and advertising that I'm alone makes me a little uneasy. Perhaps it's because I lived in England for too long on a council estate 😅🙈
Because, as a woman, I feel anxious being alone in the middle of the countryside. I feel safe here but you never know who can turn up at your door. My Mum was a police officer so I am always on guard. The world is a dangerous place when you are alone.
@ ok, I understand. So it doesn’t really have anything to do with Bulgaria specifically? I’m only asking because I’m buying a house in Bulgaria as a single female 😬
@wherestheparty_ no not at all! I would be very worried if I was in England 🤣 It's honestly just my English brain. Nobody will bother me here. I feel very safe ❤️
@@wherestheparty_worry not. Bulgaria, Poland and alike are as safer as the times in the UK you had bobbies around every corner. I follow a few foreign ladies living alone in the Bulgarian countryside and they never had any issues at all. She's just not used to being on her own, which is normal I guess. But worry not, the bad bits of Bulgaria are usually around the big cities and the usual suspects are from the darker parts of the society. It does happen but it's very rare. They wouldn't touch her but rather steal something of a value. However, as I said it's very rare. Nothing like the UK .
@@the_phoenixproject looks like you got out of Clacton at the right time. Hope everything is going well for you in Bulgaria. I look forward to all your videos as I really enjoy seeing other peoples projects.
You will be absolutely fine Laura, except for missing your girlies and Ant, but take some time out, time to chill and relax, and before you know it you will all be reunited and one big happy family again. You have the better deal being in Bulgaria 😉
1998 my family, then of four, visited the British Embassy in Sofia . I was given tourist visa, but family was refused on grounds of potential immigrants / non returners . Few would even dare enter UK illegally .
It was a very different time. It's also a shame that it seems very easy for immigrants to obtain visas in the UK but almost impossible in Bulgaria, a country that so sorely needs investment to grow.
Do you have kids? It's difficult to explain without recording it, but the kids weren't happy and were screaming/crying all the way through the appointment. It's not a nice place inside and a bit like a hospital with bright lights and very little air. We were told that we would need two pieces of paperwork. When we got to the booth, the man asked me for about eight different documents 😅 Luckily I brought everything, but it is A LOT of paperwork. Pages, and pages, and pages... All while my children are having tantrums around me 🥴 They are VERY particular about how your documents are presented, so it's very stressful because one document could ruin everything for us.
@@the_phoenixproject Hi Laura, I understand now. I just wasn’t sure if it was the pressure of really wanting the process to go right that was frustrating or if you had a rude person to deal with or if the cost had skyrocketed. I just wasn’t clear on the root cause. I am very glad you had the foresight to bring everything with you. That’s a great lesson for anyone else planning to get residency in Bulgaria. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi how much did the taxi cost from otopeni airport to the farm? Will be coming over in January.
It depends on the passengers I think but approximately £60.

I would fix the yard and the time would pass
Yes, I'll be focusing on it once it's not freezing cold and raining 😅
💚
Is it cheaper to drive from Bulgaria to Romania and fly to England than to drive to Sofia and fly to England ?
Yes and much easier with the kids.
What was stressful? We’re the people at the embassy rude or aggressive? I don’t u derstand what you found so upsetting?

Hey!
You are driving on the wrong side of the road!!
🤣🤣🤣
I feel guilty now because I told you once you'll end up in the UK benefit system.
What are you on about? 😅 I've been a successful freelancer for 15 years, I think we are safe from the UK benefit system thankfully.
Why did you had to leave??
You must have missed the text that mentioned it. We had to return to apply for visas for our children. It's a ridiculous process.
