I can tell you for sure not very many young people in Bulgaria can live the life the way you live. This is so inspiring. I believe every young couple in Bulgaria should follow your blog and learn something. You have earned my respect. Hats off!
Ive been here on my own in my village home in Bulgarian for almost two years now and for once ill notbe spending Christmas and my birthday alone , husbands coming and from next year he's going to be living here with me.
You are doing so well Laura! Absolutely amazing strength you have you should be so proud of yourself 🤗 Love watching your videos! Hope you are all reunited soon ❤
Electricity providers have to be pestered all the time in order to fix the issues, after all you are paying for a service and they are in breach of contract. It's important to call them ASAP when a cut is observed and to enquire. If the issues continue, you can seek legal advice. All the best, Nick (Bulgaria)
Hi Laura, you are awesome and being alone is so difficult sometimes but PLEASE remember to ask for help your neighbors. They will be absolutely happy to do it and will bring some company in your day and help until your family is back. 🤗
You are doing such a great job living on your own. I hope Antony and the girls get back home to you very soon. Big hug and much love to you, my dear.❤❤❤
Hi from Spain. Hang on in there, it's hard on your own, but I've done it. Just stick to a routine everyday & set yourself a job to do, then enjoy relaxing with your book & cosy fire. I would go to bed early, then get up early. The time will pass quickly & you'll all be back together . As someone suggested, damp kitchen roll & ash from the fire will clean the glass & you'll enjoy watching the flames so much more. Take care & remember we are all here to keep you company. Love & hugs ♥️♥️
You’re doing so well there grafting on your own for the betterment of the family! It’ll be interesting when the girls start school there as they too will be exposed to so much more-can’t wait!
Hello my british friends. This happened in UK in our house too.We spend 3days in the cold flat, till the company sorted the problem with the electricity in the region of Manchester. But es good, you have fire place.Greatings from England
Another great video! You are so brave and strong! I know life in a village can be hard specially if you are alone, BUT don’t think for this as a separation, accept it as a challenge and maybe as a gift? I understand that every mom love their kids but a little break now and then isn’t that bad, sending hugs and spiritual support from the sea side 👋🏻🙏🏻🖤
A tip that I’m sure you’re aware of re the log burner glass….to clean it really easily use some of the ash with water on a bit of kitchen roll works a treat cleans it quick too.
Hi! I like your videos and I hope you'll find strength to overcome this stressful period. I am from Bulgaria and I live in Sofia. I want to be helpful and there is something you may not know. In Sofia there is "Migration Directorate". I think you could apply for your visas there or at least for residence permit. My advice is check their site next time. If they can be helpful this will be much easier for you and will cost less. Best wishes and hugs.
We have to apply for our residency permits in Veliko Tarnovo because that's where we live, unfortunately. Renewal is 540 leva each per year. It's very expensive.
Well done Laura 👏 you're doing amazing its so difficult without family around its like you somehow lose who u are and have to start over but you are so strong you will get through this and hopefully visa's will be sorted quickly and you guys will be back together stronger than ever you're doing great try to enjoy free time for you as you know as a wife and mother it rarely ever happens as hard as it is try to look for the positives it only makes you stronger as a person u get to know yourself again ❤
You are doing wonderfully well. I hope they get their visas quickly, then you can all be together again. I really enjoy watching your videos, thank you. :)
Just a tip for the generator, its a Honda so really good reliable machine. But because it may be a while before you use it again, always turn the Fuel tap off and allow the motor to stop by running out of fuel in the carburettor. Modern fuel additives don't age well and clog up the carburettor. But if you always run the carburettor empty, the next time you come to need the generator, it will start easily.
I've never been more than a few days away from my daughter (she's 8) so I can imagine how difficult it is. You're doing great, try to focus on positives and the lovely day they'll be back. Perhaps an Irish passport might be a good idea long term. I'm in the process of applying for my Irish residency, I think it's a 2 year wait though. Then can apply for passport. Good luck!
Stay strong! Your life is so much like ours, I wish I could send you a photo. We are in the mountains of N Cyprus and our house is as basic as yours. It will be freezing here too next week but😢 we don't have to split up any more. Beware, we had a cat jump on the stove once. His paws did heal though Have you thought of an inverter? Easier than a Genny . Take care❤
I'm in the SE and still using electricity to heat my place but will soon go over to mainly the petchka. Since last year I now have 4 extra kittens that I'm dreading will jump up on to it. I don't suppose that they will hang around for long!
@the_phoenixproject can't wait for the family to be back together...it must be hard on you both but I'm sure that the little ones are loving the adventure...such is the way that good parents make horrible situations invisible. Also, I found that this video was really good so not sure why you were so hard on yourself.

No standing charges, you pay whatever you used. I don't think there was a tax like the UK either(5%?). As she said leccy is rather cheap. However, if you don't pay on time, they'll cut it off and there is a fee to reconnect xD
Aww you're doing great Laura, very relaxing apart from the generator lol. Totally understand your nervousness re: driving alone, and of course you're missing your little family, but look how well you're doing. Love the perfect reason to eat cookies.
Thank you! 😊 Hope you guys are OK. I saw you are back in the UK. Everything happens for a reason, so I'm sure it will all work out as it is meant to ❤️❤️❤️
