It's bc Lidl Billa and stores sell the same exact food as in the UK Germany etc. Those foods are imported so the prices is same or higher than in the UK + it has all the import taxes etc in it too😂. In fact Lidl got caught importing lower quality food under same names in Romania and Bulgaria to be able to sell it as the same price in the UK France in Germany. So your Lidl products in Bulgaria are same ones in the UK but lower quality different ingredients cheap substitutes. Then there is local brands that make their prices around these big brand names so food is artificially inflated.

Our average top-up shop is like 150, big shop, like with meat and everything is like 350-400 lev ( Kaufland, Lidl is always worse - I blame the middle isle!). Also family of 4 here. crazy how a bottle ot milk is like 3-3.50 lev now!

2 of my children do artistic gymnastics, I cant seem to find that level of gymnastics in Bulgaria apart from the big cities which is out of my price range to live. Do you know of any other gymnastic clubs?

Hiya , we have just started watching your channel. I’m so glad you have recorded these solo episodes. We are just starting our journey to the dream. It is likely that I will have to stay in Bulgaria alone at times at the beginning. At least till we are up and running. This is so reassuring “girl power”.

Did you guys open an EOOD before coming or while here? 1 year seems very short and dealing with the immigration service is never great (the one in Sofia is no joke). I'm 1 year away from my permenant one which will be such a relieve. Good luck to you and the family! :)
