I saw that abandoned cafe, when I used Google maps I could go back in time to see it in 2012, I tend to have a look around now and then, most places have a date of 2012, but Google is mapping again, so we can see June and July this year. I have been looking for property and know most villages now and know my way around most of the country. We are down to three houses... It's taken 8 months to get to this point.. How did you pick your house and why??

As others have said, the heat makes everything that little bit harder to do, and if it has affected your sleep as well on top of working, running after your girls and the animals, then no wonder you're exhausted Laura. Do you take advantage of the afternoon siesta time? We didn't when we lived there before, but I think we may just do so when we move back again. Ideallly the wood should be for winter 2025. It will still be wet for this winter, probably make a lot of smoke in the fire.

Youve got loads of crates in that basement which will be useful over the years! I'm assuming youve not got a decent wood shed, ours is rammed with what we've taken down and all our outbuildings are full with wood too. Have you had any rain? We are really desperate for water now, the wildfire last week was terrifying.

You need to prepare from now to the winter .Buy some wood (cause now in more cheaper),make some compots (home made canned fruits like peaches and apricots , plums ,and pickles too) jams , juices (bottles and jars in a basement is for that purpose ,you need just to wash them before filling .Just re-use them every year).

Hey guys, I dont know you, but realy like your videos and just wanted to day that you are doing amazing. Honestly, I truly understant the frustration you feel sometimes in the face of living in the countryside of Bulgaria. Especially the country side, and specificly being a foreigner there. Bulgarians can be a little bit oldfasioned there, in a lot of ways. It will be way easier if you chose the city, but hey I can assure you, as someone who grew up in a village in Bulglaria with grandparents, it was the most amasing childhood I could ever dream of. Your kids one day will treasure their childhood deeply in their hearts. I believe its definitely not easy for you, but seeing how close you are as a family I believe its goint to get better. Bravo for being such a fighters, I know Bulgaria can be difficult but its worth it.

Hey just wondering about car tax and insurance is it expensive

Hi there. By pure accident I run into your channel and I am amazed with your enthusiasm. I have to tell you that I am not a builder by any means but I built two houses myself. What you have there is not a good option. That house is, and will be a bottomless pit to throw your money into. First of all, what I've seen, that house doesn't have proper and solid foundation which is fairly common in that part of the world. (I might be wrong and didn't see correctly) Second thing, the roof is in very bad condition. Just those two things that have to be attended urgently, will soak a lots of your money out. Third thing is hydro-insulation is non-existent, and non-existent thermal insulation which is going to burn enormous amount of money for winter heating. I understand your financial situation and your wish to succeed but be smart......and I mean - be smart. What I would like to tell you here, is next. You have a place to live in, and that is awesome, (when I built those houses I didn't have that luxury). You have a nice block of land and build a new house. I know you'll say - what is wrong with you? but I honestly don't want to see you stressed fixing unfixable things over and over again. If you put down on paper and do all calculations (several, long, sleepless nights, a few buckets of coffee and lots of headaches) you'll understand just how expensive is sorting out foundation, thermal insulation, hydro insulation and roof.......that is going to cost you a lot of money and that money probably will be sufficient to build a new house. For 7.000 pounds you've bought yourselves block of land and that is an awesome deal ( you probably wouldn't be able to buy a second hand car in BAD condition in GB). Anthony is handy man willing to do even things that he doesn't know how to do, and you Laura,( I think I picked up your name correctly ) you are hard working woman........you two, can do that, and I mean - YOU CAN DO THAT. With a little bit of expertise and (of course, watching RUclips instructions😇😇😇😇) and of course a bit of help of Anthony's father and occasional professional assistance you'll have a brand new house with a lot less stress, "leaking eyes" and frustrations which is going to reflect on your two girls. Think - long run. You don't have to do it quickly......bit by bit, but my honest and friendly advice is to go that way ( based on my personal experience). Wishing you all the best (from the bottom of my heart)

Great job guys . Laura ill give now one idea most of bulgarians who are living in a villages are doing it . The big bottles from water (10 liters bottles) fill them up and leave them all day somewhere where is sunny and once the water get hot enough you can have a nice sunny shower . Trust me its amazing 😂
