Great video my friend! The rig looks crazy good and the fact that is perfectly balanced makes me confident to build it and use it on the field when the balance is a huge thing. Congratulations on your rig 🙋🏻♂️
@@VideoMakerTwist Can you still record internally to an SD card with the R6 Mark II while connected to a monitor via HDMI? I've seen people saying that the camera's LCD screen turns off or the camera disables recording whilst connected to a monitor.
Of course you can record on SD while being connected to an external monitor. Yes, the LCD turns off, but you'll see the image on the external monitor. When you press REC on your camera, everything will be recorded to the SD card.
@@VideoMakerTwist Strange why a lot of people are claiming this doesn't work whilst others say it does. Do you get a clean feed on the monitor or do you get the overlay?
I am loving this vid and can't wait to build out mine, but first I am inserting the same rode mic you are using into the 3.5 plug and getting radio stations playing over the audio. Are you using a shielded cable of some sort? I'm also not getting any sound at all when I am mounting mic to the hot shoe, but not mounted on the hot shoe is working - weird. please advise. THX
You can see in the following link how you can mount the top handle if you want to shoot vertical videos. The only thing you need to do next is to attach the whole bottom setup (base plate - that includes rods and rod clamp), to the side of the cage and that's it. You'll then have a vertical setup. I hope my explanation makes sense. ruclips.net/video/pI5RKopLcKY/видео.html
@@VideoMakerTwist nice video thanks! I'm still trying to find out if having the top handle set up how you had it is easier or maybe with the handle on the other side. With the record button at the bottom, I'm not sure if I find it easier having that at the bottom of the camera or the top.
hi its an excellent explanation and you have showed the right accessories what goes with the cage and what are they used for? i have been asking people i know but non of them could clear my doubts. trust me no one can beat your explanation in this kind of video. keep up with the good work. only one doubt i have is that i want to use this setup but is it possible to connect my Godox X3 trigger as well with this setup? is there enough space to put the trigger on the hotshoe and use the handle and monitor at the same time? if it is possible then i will buy the gear immediately, if not then can you please suggest any other accessories i need to buy to make it work please suggest. i really appreciate your reply.
Thanks a lot for your kind words! First question. Will you be using this rig for photo? Godox X3 is a strobe trigger for photo, right? If you are going to use the handle reversed on the cage, it's possible that the trigger will have enough room, however I'm not sure you'll have enough space for your fingers when holding the top handle. I really want to help you, but I'm not sure.
@@VideoMakerTwist yes I want to for photos. Sometimes I do wildlife as well. Yes godox x3 is strobe trigger. Holding with the handle I am not sure enough place to hold. The display on the camera is too small sometimes and because of that I miss the focus so that is the reason I wanted external display on the move. Do you think trigger and monitor can be mounted?
@@eldoradobunny All I can say is that between the hot shoe mount of the camera and the top handle are exactly 5 cm. Maybe this will help you make the right decision.
Great video! I've just started filming got a nice little set up. Just waiting on a monitor. My question is when shooting vertical to view my footage when in da Vinci resolve I have to turn my head, or rotate each clip before I can see if I actually want to use that clip or not. Is there a setting on the camera that can put the footage out so I don't have to turn my head, or is it just in post where you need to rotate the footage? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! Here's a tip for DaVinci Resolve. In the Media Pool, select all the vertical videos - right click on one of them - Clip Attributes - and in the Video tab, you have Image Orientation. Choose -90 or +90 degress, depending on your situation. Click OK, then hover over the clips in the Media Pool. They should all turn vertical.
Yes, the more heavier it is, the more stable it gets when walking slowly. Not to be compared with an actual gimbal, but you can get movie looking shots, with some natural handheld camera movement.
great video! Thanks for sharing this information, very useful. Couple of things come to mind - would it be easy to add some lights on top of this setup? Also, while storing this set up as is, did you come across any camera bags that will allow you to store this set up without removing any of the components that are attached, for example, travelling, security check at the airport etc. Thanks! Again..great video.
Yes, this is also my question. I read that you just cannot record on SD card if an external monitor is plugged in so the only way to use this and record video is to use the ninja V because the Shinobi cannot record. Is that the case?
It Can record on sd card but the cameras screen is off so the touch auto focus does not work. Both monitors can work at the same time but cannot record on the sf card thus the monitor needs to record.

can i use a side handle with Arri together with this HDMI Adapter?

What about 🔋 battery? I have Smalling 99 she is heavy
Will both monitors allow you to use tap to focus on them? I heard a firmware came out to use that feature now .
You can't tap focus on these monitors. But this monitor has this function: amzn.to/4hdWwGb
