  • Both the Ring Dip and Bar Dip are great exercises for the horizontal push pattern, strengthening the chest and triceps.⁠

    So which variation should you choose?⁠

    Bar Dip:⁠
    ➡️If the goal is hypertrophy or maximal strength, as stabilization limitation is removed⁠
    ➡️For beginners who haven’t developed the stability needed for the rings⁠
    ➡️As accessory for other pushing exercises like the bench press⁠

    Ring Dip:⁠
    ➡️To develop control and stability through a functional range of motion⁠
    ➡️To lower intensity by increasing challenge from unstable surface⁠
    ➡️As strength support for other gymnastics rings exercises like the muscle-up⁠
