  • I've always opted to do the strength workout first regardless of which order it may be. Strength isn't necessarily a strength in my game...pun not intended. I wanted to try and get 5-10 at the 245lb bar and eas able to get in that range. The workout doesn't really begin until the 225lb bar. At that point, I'm just trying to stay steady and not jump the gun to miss a lift. I already know the elite will most likely get between 25-35+ reps at that 245lb. For me, it's about my max Power Clean and Push jerk, so it was all I could do to get 3 per minute. I also went with singles out the gate so that it didn't become a heart rate workout. It's essentially a heavy Grace ladder before you even get to the final bar. You're only going to get 7 total minutes of work. So I hoped to get half of that at the final bar. 10 Minute rolling clock for Max reps of 10 Clean and jerks at 135lb, rest 1 minute, 10 clean and jerks at 185lb, rest 1 minute, 10 clean and jerks at 225lb, rest 1 minute, Max reps in remaining time of clean and jerks at 245lb. Finished with 39 total reps RX.

    big thumbs up on the video description; as far as describing your strategy based on your work capacity... I'm new to the channel and decided to play a game; guess the score without reading anything based on how the first two rounds went; my guess was 11-20 lol, not that far off... it looks like you strategized this pretty dang well, went out hot on the light stuff to save as much time as possible for the final weight.... bravo...

      Thanks for reading and watching! I appreciate that, this is my 6th year of crossfit and I try to take each attempt with the best of my ability. This wasn't my best effort comparatively, but was good for me and where I'm at. Thanks again for tuning in and the kind comments!

    your max has to be way more then 245 for you to push jerk 245 9 times and breeze through 225 like that. i cant push jerk 225 but my max clean and jerk is like 285. make it make sense for me lol

    • @christopherdidyoung7442
      @christopherdidyoung7442  Месяц назад

      I believe the most I've Power cleaned and Push jerked was 275 on 2 seperate occasions, but it's been awhile. My max Squat Clean and split jerk is 305 from about a year ago. I appreciate the support. This one was definitely a strength based workout, and the elite will be pushing that 30 rep range. I may plan to redo to see if I can get a few more. Those are still solid numbers! Thanks for your support!

      @@christopherdidyoung7442 dang I only got 11. Much harder than I anticipated. I failed my 12th rep at the buzzer. Finished 225 at 5:31.
      If I repeated, I might be good for 13, maybe 14. I can move a little faster on the 225 to buy me more time for a few more reps. But I was hurtin to move that bar. I was smoked.
