Tian has such godlike strength. His career may not have the medals his talents merits, but I’m glad anyone will be able to look back and see that this man is truly built different.
I think that was 6 reps, but front squat obviously is much harder to do for reps because our upper body simply starts collapsing after 2-3 reps@@dillonsong5551
I've done 405lb Zercher power squats@198lb body weight in my youth, but these guys take it to another level with weightlifting front squats provided the weight is from the rack and perfectly resting on their clavicle. Not too much deviation coming off the hole. Insane levels of power!
Liu Huanhua is listed at 6ft tall, and Tian Tao 5ft 7. They look close in height in this video, although I guess when you're squatting 200+kg the spine is compressed and the knees bent so maybe that's why they appear similar in height.
There is a story of a Bulgarian lifter (back in Communist days) who was using a poor quality bar for front squats, which snapped right at his neck. It impaled his neck and he died instantly.
Old comment, but thought I'd let you know. There are kind of two (related) reasons. You'll usually see this with Chinese lifters. Most of the training halls in China have a different kind of rack: it's like a block with a divot for the plates (not the bar). It is way easier to put the bar down on these, and the landing is more secure, so it kind of doesn't matter what way you're going. The other reason is that unracking and walking backwards is slightly harder than walking forwards, so you have more energy to do your squats. Obviously, they still have to walk backwards afterwards, but since they're always on a platform, they can just drop the weight if needed
It's to prime your nervous system to hold heavy weight. A big part of lifting is psychological. Even if you are physically capable of lifting heavier you will not be able to do so unless your mind is used to feeling the weight on top of your back (or in this case front).
The audacity of Chinese weightlifters especially these 2 to just rack 260 kgs without looking sideways and merely based on judgement is just out of this world.
240x4 front squat is INSANE.
Can't believe he's still getting better.
I know Tian's squats(both back and front) are legendary but it's always amazing to see how much stronger he is at a lighter body weight than Liu here.
The craziest thing is gigachad is incredibly strong, 270 front squat is no joke
But Tian is just different man
Tian is just a different kind of beast, unlike any other.
Tian is an elite even among high-level olympic lifters.
in all fairness, pushing squats when you can already do 300kg is unnecessary at best, and a hinderance at worst. (for non supers)
@@TheMortalKombatent agree
Tian has such godlike strength. His career may not have the medals his talents merits, but I’m glad anyone will be able to look back and see that this man is truly built different.
In terms of the squat this has to be prime Tian Tao. A set of 4 at 240 at -89 is nuts.
Well he can do at least 7 reps of back squat at 270kg at 85kg bw so ..
I think that was 6 reps, but front squat obviously is much harder to do for reps because our upper body simply starts collapsing after 2-3 reps@@dillonsong5551
getting real crafty on the setup for those back extensions.
Tian Tao is just built different 😮
gigachad looks FULL
one of the few sports where an athlete’s warm up and prep is just as exciting if not more than stage lift
Love this contents!!! Thank you so much

Tian's form is amazing, same speed and posture from bar to 260.... hats off👌👌👌🔥
7:04 the hype is real tian tao got the whole room watching
What team is that in the background? South American? They're not wearing any national flags/colours.
@@Mike-bt3ki CUBA
Tian got 10 years younger with that cut 😂
Yeah I’m liking it

It took me like seven minutes to realise that they're doing front, not back squats. Holy shit, the core strength of these lads. That's unreal.
Even the coach has a sick fade lmao
i love watching them train together. they are like brothers
I've never seen a man with tortoise shell back muscle at 11:05
gigachad looking sharp
Gigachad looking more like a 102 each day
THICC
I saw Tommy Calandro, a 1984 Olympian lift 525x5 in the front squat at Gayle Hatch’s. He weighed 90 kg at the time.
Just look at the man's back from 11:08 and on, never seen such development.
Built himself a turtle shell
Giant spinal erectors holy shit. Truly built different
Dinosaur mode
that looks absolutely unreal. I've never seen a back look like that.
I noticed that too. His lower back is so thick and cut that it sort of became a new muscle group
That Bussy of Tian, just insane.
Chinese trainers seem to be incredibly good
Exemplary squatting. Phenomenal front squatting, including fast 4 x 240kg!
Tian has one of the best squats in history 😤
Toshiki Yamamoto too
Team China just MOGGs everybody.
Tian Tao got that old man strength.
Beyond impressive.
The faith of these athletes in the equipment is remarkable… imagine the bar tears apart in the middle with all the weights … RIP
Those bars are professional and cost around 1000€ each.
They won't break.
There is a story of a Bulgarian lifter (back in Communist days) who was using a poor quality bar for front squats, which snapped right at his neck. It impaled his neck and he died instantly.
My 120 kg PR looks like a joke
Never seen high level lifters backing (stepping backwards, instead of forwards) into the rack to unload. Anyone know the reason for this?

Man, their strength levels are no joke. And their spotters didn't even in their positions.
What a boss Tian is !
Tian look like a ninja turtle with that back
These two train like bros!
Why do they rack backwards?
3:07 why does the cameraman look like Nate Cerwinske?? Is it him?
Yes it is! He was asked by Weightlifting house to come out and film a documentary for WH
Tian Tao squats are insanely strong.
Random question: I feel like whenever I squat, the nerves in my lower quad by my left knee get irritated
What's the exercise after squad for? One when they put on 370. Just playing around or is there a purpose? I'm a newbie to weightlifting
Its kind of just to get them used to simply holding much heavier weight.
Forgot the exact detailed reason but that's the jist of it

Is that Venus Weightlifting in the back?
Suddenly my 170kg front squat doesn’t seem that impressive.
It’s still very impressive my friend!
濤哥舉手投足都充滿喜感😁😁😁
these guys are OX
Tian Tao 240x4
Liu 240x3
Спасибо!
surely they can just bring a back extension machine?
These sessions on the same day as the snatch?
looking great
What does holding excessive weight up like that do exactly? ~9min mark. I guess like conditions the CNS more or something
Yes it’s a cns primer
Is that Venus Gaby standing at the back?
chinese trainers smiled for the last time in 1997
Karlos is waiting for him!
Tian tao is in tip top shape since he got his legendary haircut 400kg total confirmed for the strong young boy💪💯 #wocao
Tian's lower back is the size of my quads 💀
Wtf 11:08 ypu can see slabs of muscle on his lower back, literally bulging
That's shield
Asian morphology (short legs and long torso) gives a natural advantage - their legs literally travel less distance from squat to full extension
Gabby venus is behind them
GIGACHAD & HEART ATTACK
11:14 his lower back so thick looks like it's gonna pop out
liu lookin thiccccc
Tian Tao has the strongest legs
Tian´s spinal erectors look like they´re about to blow up, at the end of the session!
These 320kg+ half reps bending the bar lmao, its funny seeing these very specific exercises for athletes used to lift such high weight amounts
Joel Seedman squats
Dynamic front rack holds, they're great for priming your body for heavier weights
It’s a central nervous system primer
front squat 240kg 4 times and laugh, you gonna be kidding me!
Я пришёл с работы уставший, дома есть олимпийский гриф. смотрел, пошёл приседать.
He got a turtle shell as lower back
do they have the same coach?
Yes💪 coach Yu jie who is also Chen lijuns coach and was lu’s coach
我希望田濤可贏得至少一片奧運金牌!
Playing around with 816lbs.
dude, that back!!!!! wtf are those spinal erectors, it looks like a friggen edit (yeah its not), insane!
Let's gooo
6:03 Liu face means a lot😅
Tian heart attack
The audacity of Chinese weightlifters especially these 2 to just rack 260 kgs without looking sideways and merely based on judgement is just out of this world.
6:24 - 6:31 就离谱
The chinese: there are billions of us, use each other, dont need more machines.
Random question but does anyone know what sneakers the guy in the blue t shirt is wearing?
Gigachat? He’s less than 6 ft height
4:48 💀
GigaChen
👍❤️
those spinal erectors are nuts
Yo!
If anyone wanted to know what the maximum weight you can fit on an Olympic weightlifting bar…..😂
Afraid I don't quite understand what walking on someone's ASS does for them
11:09 Wtf is this back ?
11:10 and 11:13 for spinal erectors enjoyers
田涛忘带袜子了呀咋回事 lol
8:17 cute alert
Pause at 11:08 at look at that lower back WTF
11:11 mountain erectors
Those who think they are natural are nuts .....no way on earth at 85 kg to be able to front squat 240 kg natural , 4 reps
Goddamn holding 370kg on your shoulders is ridiculous.
how are these ninjas so strong
11:13 😍
Karlos Nasar the best!
Wipe your mouth lil pup
Anabolic rice power 💪🏻
squats are pointless. nothing in life makes u think, i need to squat to get this done. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Commenting on youtube is even more pointless
@rushgush Do you even squat?
