Yes I have noticed that Karen and Jocelyn shop at the same good wills in the same week picking up the same items for a look and putting them down, but also noticed two items Jocelyn brought which Karen left behind. I'm amazed at the variety of things on display there. I'd probably be like Roger...constantly in and out!!!. It's a real alladins cave. Love all your hauls and soft sweet tones, very relaxing.
I work at a thrift store and just today someone donated some planters and mugs that had some ink in them from pens and I used this cleaner from Dollar Tree it is yellow and called Totally Awesome and it cleaned the ink right out!
Saki cups, minute mark 14: Saki cups don’t usually have saucers. When there Small plates, in the same pattern, the plates are usually for small appetizers. The smallest of the 4 pieces, up with the ginger jars was the Saki carafe, for pouring into those little cups. I drank a fair amount of Saki, while living in Japan for 4 years. One interesting side note, when drinking together, you pour for your companion, not for yourself. They pour for you.

I scored a Baccarat Bunny today for 3.99. Yesterday a handmade native wood with cabochon turquoise inlay flute by High Spirits from AZ. 12.99 PERFECT CONDITION!!!! Retails for 625.00+ ! Also a pair of Waterford champagne flutes no damage 12.00/ pair. Trained eye and feel. On and on……..👍🏻🏆
Hi Karen, loved your show again. Wanted to mention the sake cups you saw do not come with saucers, and up above where you saw the vases, the smallest one was the sake pitcher. I went back and looked at the cups and they had the same pattern so those would’ve gone together.

Hi Karen - cleaning out ink stains from a mug is super easy! Just add bleach to the mug and let it sit for awhile. You should have seen a round Hershey’s mug I picked up once at a Salvation Army…completely blue inside from ink stains! It came out so clean that I kept it for myself. 😂 Cheers from snowy NYC ~ Katia
I believe that little lavendar glass piece may be a vintage tooth pick holder. A lot of old clear glass that has sat in a window seal or bright light gets that purple hue to it. I have a couple pieces that were my great grandmother's that are like that. Thank you for taking us along!

Crazy tip for newbies trying to figure out what to buy and at what price: since I started 4 years ago, I take an old cell phone with me and take photos of items I am not sure about. Photo the item, makers mark and price. Then back in your car or even at home, look up the items. When I find a valuable piece, I run back to get it. This has really paid off with a whole bunch of items, both for “home runs” and things that upon researching I found would not be worth picking up. 👍🏼
@@signeknudsen8513 That makes the thrifting trip take forever if there are a lot of questionables, as there would be for someone new to reselling. I also have a knee and foot injury. A thrifting trip can take 2 hours if there is a lot to look at (like clothes). So I buy the items I want or am sure about, and then give my injuries a rest while I look up the others.
I was thrifting today….not at Goodwill, but another large thrift chain near where I live. And there’s one thing that all the larger thrift stores do even with the higher prices they’re putting on their merchandise: That’s put out damaged goods and give them regular (and higher) prices as if they’re not damaged. Let me preface my further remarks by saying I’m very grateful for Goodwill and many other thrift stores where I can still get some amazing things and make an amazing profit on some of them and a decent profit on a lot of them. So I’m grateful. But here it is: It seems as though the thrift store employees pricing stuff don’t see that the piece in front of them may be missing an arm or leg or nose or foot or head or that it may just have some sort of minor or even major damage that will likely make it unsellable. OK, there are some things that will sell even if damaged, but that is very dependent on what it is, how much it’s damaged, and how special or rare or in-demand it is. But so much of the hard goods at most thrift stores is porcelain and ceramic nik-naks, dishes, glassware, all sorts of home dec and the like and comes damaged or gets damaged very easily. I’d say at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the items they put on the sales floor are damaged to the point that they’re virtually unsellable. I’m not talking about a little worn. And then I keep seeing Dollar Tree brands like K Collectibles with a price tag of $3 or $4! Or the “Royal Norfolk” brand plates, bowls and mugs is another Dollar Tree brand. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s about as good or maybe better than any other low price brand out there, but it is Dollar Tree and should be priced accordingly. As consumers AND resellers, it’s on us to know about the most well -known brands and do our research, but of course, we can’t know it all though…there’s just too much out there,) but shouldn’t the people pricing the goods know at least a little more about the value and condition of whatever they’re putting on the shelves? ok, that’s it…I’m done with my little rant of the day. 😐
Clear glass can be a conundrum, very boring and out of context. Mcm Scandinavian mixed with Target can be missed. Atomic design may be a giveaway (if it’s vintage) but a cursory education in valuable accessory pieces of elegant vintage or antique patterns may narrow the search and alleviate “clear glass anxiety?” and may lead to that rare score. One example is Fostoria American which shows up often in thrifting. I don’t bother mostly because there are so many pieces to the pattern and other imitations. But! There are certain pieces (banana split dish, crushed fruit jar and lid that will pay your bills for awhile if you come across them). My belief is treasures are found because they are out of context, usually buried under worthless stuff. The educated eye zeroes in on the possible gem and takes the second look. Most clear is not worth it but that brilliant cut last week? I was grab it, grab it! Ha! We really have to appreciate an artisan who can take a big blob of unmolded glass and engrave delicate razor-sharp designs on an engraving wheel and look beyond grandma’s candy dish to see the lost art and craftsmanship in certain objects. Why do we pass up made in China glass and jump on Venetian Murano? Dunno, age, integrity, quality? It’s all fun in the end so keep learning!
Not sure what inspired me but I collected salt and pepper shakers as a child. Probably when I was 9 or 10. I had over 100 pairs. They were a pain to keep dusted! Mother talked me into donating them to our church auction!

My parents got a pair of those ceramic Mallard ducks as a wedding gift in 1948. They look just like the duck you picked up. I think my mom said the person who gave the ducks to them got them at the green stamp store.
Hi Karen, there are also a lot of people, like me, that like to decorate with single items or like to combine different pieces but then in sets of 3 pieces. I do not have a mantle and in my windowsills are plants, so I would not have a need for two of the same. So beautiful single pieces are also good. 🙂 I personaly think that uneven numbers are more pleasing to the eye, but that is my personal preference. On another note: it looks like your making more trifting video’s than you used to? I like it. 😃😖
Oh I so would have bought that blue floral planter that you picked up. I have been looking for years for another. I purchased one a long time ago it sits in the windowsill with a plant that my mother who's passed got me. And would love to have two more. I might have to make a trip to Pennsylvania, but alas I fear it would be gone. Take care.
Hi Karen! Love your videos. Very informative and I like seeing the variety of different items. Hey! There's an awesome lady up here in Eagle River, Alaska, right outside of Anchorage. Her you tube channel is called,"This Alaska Life." Her name is Lauren and her video posted yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 12th, she goes thrifting at Value Village in Anchorage, Alaska. She's mostly wanting to show her viewers the prices of everything. And gosh, they were really high on Jean's, shoes and glassware. She's most likely going to do a video at Goodwill soon. Just thought you might want to watch her video and checkout the prices at one of our thrift stores up here. Happy Valentine's Day! And have a great week!🙂✌
I am in MD and have never been told not to shop the blue carts...is this something new? Love the purple aisle! My favorite color and I haven’t seen it here?
I enjoy watching your videos so much. I love my Sunday morning knowing I will see your newest release. It’s funny how we watch people on YT and feel like we know the creators after some time goes by even though it’s just a small peek into who the creator is. I think you are so sweet, kind and respectful in how you talk about the things you find and the people you meet. I believe that is genuine and shows who you really are. What a pleasure to watch and learn from you. I’m not a reseller but I feel like I could be. I’m starting out leaving NJ to begin my journey in Van life very soon, I will be heading to AZ first and then who knows where after that. I’m wondering if I could resell only small items due to storage constraints. I think shipping might be an issue as I won’t be in one place more than a few weeks. What do you think? Can it be done? I could have a printer and I will mostly have good cell service. Anyway, another great video, thank you for your consistency! 🥰
Wow sounds like you will have adventures! I have heard of just a couple of people reselling on eBay while living in a van or RV, so it CAN be done. Before you start, have your shipping materials ready in addition to the items you are selling. You also have to be able to ship within the handling time you have designated on the listings (same day, 1 day, etc) or you get defects which causes problems later. If internet signal is bad, an option is to get QR codes on your phone instead of labels, go to the USPS & they will print them for you. I had to do this when eBay had a shipping page glitch. You would have to stick to very small items, like jewelry, postcards, small toys. One lady exclusively sold scarves. I don’t know if a physical address is an absolute requirement, might have to ask eBay directly about that. Even if you don’t accept returns in the listings, eBay has a satisfaction guarantee that can override your policy if the item is not as described, and other reasons too. Good Luck, Happy Travels!!
Hello from Australia 😀 Love your videos. Thank you. But, am a bit confused re the table. I heard you say you left it for someone else, but then I see it in your cart? Or is that something else. Cheers.
Why are you not using your black light and the clear aisle? There is many items that glow and so therefore they are uranium glass. Good money for them when you sell
I live in North East PA and the Goodwills and Salvation Army’s are the worst!!! Nothing like what you and the other PA people have😥. I have much better luck in local thrift stores. And… I have to stop watching to ask a questions…. Is that an engagement ring you are wearing?????❤️
I wish I could do better in my sale and looking at things that would sale for much more. I have to say I have learned frim your videos but I’m no we’re near of what you get. I wish I could have a better eye for things. Always enjoy your videos.
Have you looked in your area for thrift stores run by charities or private parties instead of Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Army? Many times the privates have better prices, and, at least where I live, the upper class people are more likely to donate to those over Goodwill. Keep trying new places even if you have to go a little farther, eventually you will find your own “honey holes.”

I grew up in Arizona and my friend from Pennsylvania in high school had your exact accent!! Love it💙💙💙👍👍👍👒👒👒is there some New York mixed in there?
Hi! Karen is from Long Island, NY and moved to Pennsylvania.
@@ricochetkitty7215 that makes sense, thank you!!
The jewelry box 😍😍
When you know more on clear glass of value, please share.
Take care.
Hi Karen! Pier One is still in business but only doing online sales.
Love the pears--how would a person style the fruit? What type of bowl/container? Thanks--love your videos.
And have a great week!🙂✌
always interesting, ty
I am in MD and have never been told not to shop the blue carts...is this something new? Love the purple aisle! My favorite color and I haven’t seen it here?
You should use cutlery trays for your flat wear then you could stack them 😊
Where will you like st the blue Hollywood Regency jewel box? I love it!
You can do it! I resell clothes. I load them in the basement of our Motorhome. (In tubs)
Absolutely!! Sounds like a great life💜
Hello from Australia 😀 Love your videos. Thank you. But, am a bit confused re the table. I heard you say you left it for someone else, but then I see it in your cart? Or is that something else. Cheers.
That Greece piece you picked up is a taco holder lol 🤣
Cat or owl = Meowl? ;-)
Love love 💕 your videos.
My GW! Haven’t been there in awhile! ☺️
Why are you not using your black light and the clear aisle? There is many items that glow and so therefore they are uranium glass. Good money for them when you sell
Those pears, when you said you would sell them for 19 is that shipping included in price?
I would have picked up the mug with the sheep 🐑
The Rhodes ceramic item is for holding tortillas
Use cornstarch to remove pen in mugs hun.even klenzer
Would have bought the small wax warmer, and the glasses that was smaller at the top
Could the small litemat 28-55 be a votive candle holder?
I think that is a glasses holder!
I live in North East PA and the Goodwills and Salvation Army’s are the worst!!! Nothing like what you and the other PA people have😥. I have much better luck in local thrift stores. And… I have to stop watching to ask a questions…. Is that an engagement ring you are wearing?????❤️
Was 13:46 flo blue? It just looked like it from my view.
